Good morning guys,

Another big change in the weather today with a front coming in, High in the high 30's with sustained 20mph winds. Temps will continue to drop thru Saturday with high in the mid to low-20'`s, and lows in the low teens. None of the white stuff in the forecast though.

No big plans for today. Hoping for a negative Rona test later, but not feeling confident at this point? Hope everyone has a great day! 😃

No I didn't. The primary reason I didn't was because I really didn't have a clue when original onset was, or at least a viral load high enough to test positive? Dawn had originally tested positive a week ago this past Sunday. When I first started feeling ill the Tuesday after she tested positive, I then tested and was negative, which then led me to believe I just had the Flu. It wasn't until this past Sunday I believe, after Dawn first tested negative, that I tested again and was now positive. Hope this makes some sense? In any case, no Paxlovid.

Ahem, at our age, it really reduces the chance of ending up in the hospital.

Hey Dan - That in-home PT routine I've been doing for sciatica is helping immensely. I should have started it years ago. The caveat is I need to be vigilant about performing daily. Maybe OK to skip one day here & there, but I have to remain on top it.

Dan - I know you're correct! By the time I actually knew I had it I was already a couple days past the worst of my symptoms and thought I'd fine, and I have been. Guess I rolled the dice and got lucky. I finally tested negative this afternoon and now I'm hopefully good to go. 👍

Guidelines are two negative COVID-19 antigen tests (not one) separated by 48 hrs. JS. I hope all the best for both you & Dawn.

Chris - Thanks. I need to perform this PT daily. It's been like a call-to-arms for me. I never thought I'd suffer from sciatica - until I did (LOL).

A very heavy dose of core strengthening over many years has done wonders for keeping my back issues at bay! It works for sure!

Good morning everyone.

So I was without my phone yesterday pretty much all day. Nationwide outage for Verizon. Started working again about 430 this morning. Man what a pain that is. I told Mom when I left last night, if you get into a jam call the fire department, don't try calling me and hoping things are better. This morning when I dropped off the dog I wrote her a note with my lead's phone number. Hm I didn't even think he might have Verizon.

Norm I don't know if I'm buying something in Arizona, I was supposed to call him yesterday afternoon. I'll try him today. I was also expecting a call from my attorney, so when I got to Mom's I called him on her phone and he said he'd been trying to get me. Geez what a pain. I hope it stays fixed.

No frost on the car today but when I opened the doors everything crackled. I told Tiger, I bet it's under freezing. Sure enough, the thing in the car said 30. When I lived up home everyone said Atlanta was a warm weather station. Meaning no winter. I feel like I was duped. Well, maybe the sun will be out today.

Okay got some wheels. Hope everyone has a good Thursday.

CC C C Cold today! 5 degrees on my thermometer.
-- My TPMS system is going to hell on our '19 Acadia. I guess the batteries go bad. First light came on and said L/F tire was low- that was true, filled it up then a week or so later came back on ,L/F tire low again- true- found a screw in tire- repaired. All good- then a week or so later L/F tire sez no signal, huh? Did I screw something up plugging tire? Then after a week or so all was good again, then a couple days later light on again- this time no signal from L/R tire. I think I will get all 4 new sensors, of course the best time to get new sensors is same time as new tires, but I didn't plan to change tires yet, well we'll see. I also found 4 tires on Marketplace- 2 months old w/2500 miles for $300- That's a good deal. They started at $400 and have been reduced to $300, If they go to $200 I'll buy 'em. I looked them up and those tires are $189 a piece new.

Hi guys,

Hope everyone is having a great day. Apparently we are stuck in the Virus version of Groundhog Day. I'm still feeling well, but now Dawn is feeling poorly again, even though she got two negative tests 48-hours apart as Norm mentioned is the protocol. She thinks she may have a thing called "Rebound Covid" where it comes back multiple days later after testing negative? I don't know at this point, I'm really just tired of us being ill. We would test again today, but we're out of tests again and waiting for more to arrive via Amazon. This just really sucks!

Chris, sorry to see that you haven't been able to shake off what remains of covid. When I had it in '23, the Dr. put me off work for 10 days. After I got the all clear, it took quite awhile to get back to normal. I did not have the same energy that I did before. I hope that you and Dawn return to your normal selves soon.

Something knocked me off my feet early this morning. Deep cold forecast for a couple days so thought I'd get to store early & stock up on groceries. Came home & felt I might blow chow (never did), but I got a quick onset of diarrhea & stomach cramp(s). Took a SARS-CoV-2 RAT - negative. No sore throat, no coughing, good sense of smell & taste no shortness of breath, no nasal congestion, light headache - modest lethargy. My SARS-CoV-2 RAT tests all expired several years ago, but the Control lights up with a very deep prominent line; therefore, I'm nearly certain the test I took is valid. Several days ago I thought I began to feel the classic cold-chill up my spine on a couple occasions. Starting to develop (maybe) a slight increase in nasal congestion & my eyes are beginning to ache since I awoke a couple hours ago. So I head on-line - yep, Norovirus outbreaks occurring in multiple locations & it's a new highly contagious Norovirus strain - several cruise ships have turned tail returning to ports. Eh, bloody buggers. It's that time of year. And, this isn't to say I don't have a couple or several virus lurking w/in me. I'm fighting sumpin.

Chris - Rebound COVID is modestly common esp. in females between the ages of 50-60 e.g. ~20%. As long as the COVID RAT is negative Dawn shouldn't be contagious (so they say).

Well, looks like I'm snuggling up to the couch for an evening of boob tube.

Norm - Sorry you're feeling ill. There sure are alot of bugs going around right now, not surprising you came down with something. I hope you bounce back quickly!

Thanks for the Stat on % of Rebound COVID for women in Dawn's age bracket. I think she had told me 25% when she told me about it this morning, but whether it's 20 or 25%, that's certainly higher than I would have thought?

I found and subscribed to a cool service today. There is a Hockey Video Service called "LiveBarn" that records and catalogs games at 100's of venues across the United States. If you purchase their Premium Package for $36/month you can download complete games, up to 1,800-minutes per month. You can cancel at any time. They have a search function so you can see what they have upfront before you subscribe. When I saw they had all 3 of Gabe's games from the Wisconsin Tournament that I missed (2 hat-tricks and a 2 goal game), and the hat-trick from his home game last Saturday that I missed, I was sold!!! Process for signing up went smoothly and downloads were fast. Quality of the videos are variable. The 3 from Wisconsin are very good, whereas the one from his home rink is not as good but decent. I've spent all evening watching my boy blister the net! Worth every penny and I'll be able to copy them to my portable hard drive and give them to him.

Good. Certainly not as bad as I did yesterday. My new glass thermometer arrives today (via USPS). I don't feel I have a temp. but I'm looking forward to checking it. Haven't experienced the chill up my spine (yet) today. Very mild sniffles, very mild aches, very mild lethargy, very mild headache when I awoke (after 8 solid hours of sleep). Feels more like recovery than progressively getting worse. Thanks for asking. How are you & Dawn?

Certainly glad you're feeling better and hopefully trending in the right direction! 👍
Thanks for asking how we're doing. Dawn is conjested and doesn't feel well, but not running a fever. I feel OK, minor congestion still, no color to it, no temp. I'd say I feel about 90%. Gonna workout here (core/lifting) in about a 1/2-hour from now. Gabe has their 1st game of their Tournament this weekend at 4pm. They're playing a very good team tonight and I'm not expecting them to win, just hoping they're respectable and that he plays well. Ya never know though, that's why ya play them???

No big plans for me. We got about 5" of snow, with more on the way, and a temperture drop on Monday. Wind chill will be around -10° at that time. I plan on checking out a new pizza place about a mile from me. "Stone fired". Sciatica has settled down a bit. The knee pulls to the chest seem to help.

Hi everyone.

Cold as a mother this morning, but it's around 50 now and the sun is out. That won't last, gonna be cold and rainy this weekend.

Glad to hear everyone is improving, well, except for Dawn, I feel bad. She needs zinc and vitamin D. And maybe a little booze to wash it down with.

Got out of work way early, over an hour. Got a couple errands to run before I head to Mom's. Been trying to buy a car long distance, that's never easy. Ordinarily I'd hop a plane and go to where the car is. I'd rather do business face to face and with a handshake. But I can't do that right now. So this will be okay. I need to email that Richard guy. At first I wasn't going to, because I thought he'd be expensive, but my first quote I got was about 1200 bucks and that seems high. Greg I might get that name from you for a quote.

Okay off I go. Have a good evening everyone.

Dan - Let us know how the pizza was. I need to start researching the best restaurants in Holland so we can all go out after one of Gabe's games if you and/or Greg come to one?

Good luck with the car purchase and transportation! I hope it all works out perfect for ya! 🤞

Well tonight was a perfect example of why you play the game, despite what the records/stats say. Gabe's team got down 2-0 early in the 1st Period on what I'd call a couple of "cheapy" goals. By "cheapy" I mean in each case the puck took one or more really weird bounces to get past our goalie. It would have been easy for the boys to lay down at that point, but much to their credit they didn't, and had tied it up 3-3 by the end of 2nd Period. Up until that point Gabe had 5 or 6 really good shots on goal that could have easily went in but their goalie was excellent. About mid-way thru the 3rd Period Gabe scored what turned out to be the game winner, making it 4-3. What a nail biter and great game!!! Guess I'll get on my new Hockey Video App and download Gabe's game winner! So much fun being able to capture moments like this for him now! 😃
