Chris, you are doing a great job as your sisters advocate, keep it up. Is she at a small hospital or a big one like Ford or U of M, etc. I would imagine that a big one would be able to handle the feet issues while also doing the psychological issue. Even if she had a "outpatient" procedure at a different facility and then back to original facility. We were extremely happy w/ U of M for Linda's kidney transplant and follow up. And also happy w/ Hurley in Flint for her head surgery. I remember some unhappy (unsatisfied) times w/ Sparrow out of Lansing during my Dad's and Linda's Mom's stays.
Went and saw Frank yesterday at home and doing much better. Now the plan for moving on w/treatment...

I had one when I was little. I didn't know what it was called but I did know it was made by Tupperware.

Greg good for Frank he's getting better. Good for everyone.

Okay now this I don't get. My BIL was at the doctor and they did some heart test and the doctor about had a fit. Said he needed to get to a specialist RIGHT AWAY he had big problems. He went for an angiogram and they told my sister that a lot of people die during the procedure. Well, he did okay and at the end of the test they said, we'll just monitor this for now. So what was the big rush? Sheesh.

I don't get it, as well. An angiogram is low-risk procedure - rather simple unless there exist serious underlying issues. I can't believe anyone in the medical profession would ever state a lot of people die during the procedure. Now, if this person had an angioplasty (of some type), maybe the statement might be warranted. I looked it up - there is a 1:1000 risk of death for an angioplasty. Yeah, what was the big rush and why the terrible statement by a health care worker?

I might have these words mixed up. Initially the doctor said he found severe blockage and he needed to go for stents immediately. But he had to have [this test] done first. I believe it's when they snake the little scope from your groin up into your heart. I'm sure they were a little more professional talking to my sister. So whatever they did they decided it wasn't so bad and will just keep an eye on things.

So anyway my sister and BIL are stopping by the Greater Stockbridge Area on their way to Maryland. She's doing all the driving because the doctor said he can't drive. Hm. Must have been fairly invasive. Just sitting in the car behind the wheel doesn't seem like a chore but heck I've never had that done.

Norm is correct about the pizza thingys. That particular baking dish has a snap on lid, and Dawn knows I like alot of icing, so she loads it up and the pizza things do a pretty good of keeping the icing from sticking to the lid.

Sorta unfolded in a peculiar scenario to state he needed stent(s) w/o 1st having confirmed that statement w/ results of an angiogram. Obviously, the angiogram demonstrated he didn't need stents (at this point in time) since they said it wasn't so bad & they'd continue to monitor. That initial 1st doctor needs to be bitch slapped a couple times (maybe).

Thanks Greg, I'm trying! She's at the Bronson Behavioral Health Center in Battle Creek. It's a newer facility that's part of the larger Bronson Medical Group that I believe is based in Kalamazoo. She was first seen at the regular Bronson Medical Hospital in Battle Creek before transfer to the Behavioral Health Hospital where she is now, and I can't get a straight answer why her feet issue was not addressed at the Medical Hospital before being transferred to the Mental Hospital, especially since they are now claiming they don't have the expertise at the Mental Hospital to handle it. I also understand it will be a pain for the Mental Hospital to have her transferred back to the Medical Hospital to have her feet taken care of, but their system created the problem to begin with and it's no reason to just ignore her pain and anguish just for their convenience. I know I'm preaching to the choir here.

Sorry, meant to add I'm very glad your friend Frank is doing much better and you were able to visit with him, that's great!

Mike - Whatever the exact status is of your BIL's heart condition I just hope he is getting a proper diagnosis, advice, and treatment as needed. I would hope if they're driving all the way to Maryland that his condition is not too dire, even if he is just a passenger. Your family is in my prayers. 🙏

Thanks Chris. Norm I agree whole heartedly, as it were. I could also be off base because this is coming from my sister and being filtered through Mom. I'm sure we'll hear all about it this weekend when they are here.

You guys ever play that game when you were little where there's a room full of people, and the first person whispers something in the ear of the person next to him, and that person whispers "the same thing" in the ear of the person next to him, and inevitably once the message gets all the way around the room it goes from Rubber baby buggy bumpers to The dog ate my homework. That's sort of how I get information from the family. Mom will tell me something and I'll be talking to my sister later on and she'll say, that's not what I said at all.

Supposed to be nice this weekend. Gotta finish the mail box relocation. Gotta finish cutting up a pine tree I cut down. Gonna set myself up good for several things I can do next week on my 5 days off.

Mike - I know the game to which you speak quite well.

It was supposed to be a nice day of golf, but it began w/ light to moderate rain exactly at tee-time so golf was poopy. It finally cleared up but after playing in the mist & rain for seven holes it put a damper on things.

I ate at the Club's restaurant - the food is really good, today was no exception. I stopped at the grocery on my way home. I had only 6 or 7 items so I got in line behind this large woman who had more than the 15 items limit for that line. I don't like people who take advantage of others by placing themselves first. I didn't say anything (out loud) & patiently bit my tongue. About then the guy behind me let go a silent but deadly. It smelled like something crawled up his a$$hole last year & died . It was nice when I finally arrived home.

Norm - Sorry the weather was so crappy for your golf outing yesterday that's a shame,, but glad you had a nice meal there!

I've come to expect rude and shameful behavior in almost any public place anymore, nothing really surprises me. My parents would have kicked my *** for doing all the **** I see adults do in public everyday.

Good afternoon guys,

No real news, positive or negative to report regarding my Sister's situation. I can't call her directly, but I've got a call out to her Unit right now asking for her to call me when she can so I can see how she's doing.

I've already been to 2 of Keegan's hockey games (two 30-minute games each with a running clock) this morning at 9:30am at a rink about 30-miles away. He played very well in a 3-1 loss, and a 2-1 win. I will be going out to Gabe's game this evening at 7:30pm at his home rink in Arnold. Such a joy getting to watch them play and cheer them on!

Some good college football games on today that I'm recording to watch at my leisure.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! 😃

Hi everyone.

Cloudy then sunny then cloudy. Eh, no rain. I'll take it. Been a nice morning, slept in a little, went to my airport to talk a little, did some house cleaning, went to Awful house. My friends weren't there so I didn't stay very long. Now I'm gonna go finish up the mailbox at Mom's. My sister is going to be here this evening so it will be nice to see her. The BIL eh.

So while I was at the airport I got some 100LL for the tractor. I have zero clues as to its maintenance and use before I showed up, but don't want to put today's cheezy-*** E10 gas in if I don't have to. I know on the farm the equipment gets whatever the farmer has on hand. But here at Clark Field and Aerodrome we're going to use the good stuff.

Chris hope the sis is doing better.

Jamesbo there's a guy lives close by that has a 74 Buick Electra 225. It's a nice looking car but an awful Harvest Gold. He's an old black man who wears a hat and smokes a cigar. If I ever saw him out at his house I'd stop and compliment him on the car.

Norm I thought you were going to say the woman in front of you let one go. Or maybe you should have and blown it her way. I make fun of my sister because she gets her groceries deliverd to her house. But when I'm out shopping and have to put up with stupid people I think, maybe those shop at home people are on to something.

Okay I think we'll take our break. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

It was getting into the afternoon and I knew Dawn had alot of baking she was going to do this afternoon and evening for an early Thanksgiving dinner we're going to at her Brother's house tomorrow afternoon, so I told her not to worry about cooking any dinner. I said I can go out and get whatever takeout sounds good to you. She said, no don't do that, I've got one more Birthday surprise for you. She was originally going to cook this on my Birthday if we didn't go out to dinner.

This is my favorite of all the meals she makes, but it is very labor intensive so we don't have it very often. Large tube 5-cheese stuffed Manicotti with Italian Sausage Marinara sauce, and garlic bread. It is truly Gourmet!!! 👍

Gabe had an awesome game, a hat-trick and an assist, but unfortunately it was in a 7-4 loss. In their defense (no pun intended), their 2 best defensemen were absent due to illness and it hurt them badly.

Good afternoon guys,

Everyone must be busy or enjoying much nicer weather than we're experiencing here. High 40's and drizzle all morning here. I went to watch Keegan play 2 games this morning. He played very well, but they were totally outmatched in the 1st game losing 4-0, but they bounced back in the 2nd game and won 5-2.

Headed out to Dawn's Brother's (Ed) house in about an hour for an early family and friends Thanksgiving dinner because they are going to be out of town over Thanksgiving. I have no idea what all will be on the menu other than the desserts Dawn made to take which include: a ****-ton of her famous chocolate chip cookies, 2 lemon/blueberry pound cakes, and some type of sweet rolls with pumpkin filling that I've never seen her make before.

My daughter Blaire, Justin, Gabe, and Keegan are coming which will be nice.

Hope everyone is having a great day whatever you're doing! 😃

Chris, the Lions pulled victory from the mouth of defeat. The manticotti looks great, I haven't made it in awhile, cooler weather means that I'll start to make some of my favorites, including white chili. I was going to make a chocolate pecan pie for turkey day, as my brother told me two weeks ago to bring a pie, well yesterday he tells me that his wife bought a pecan pie. It won't be as good as mine . because of that, I went and bought a pumpkin pie from the Amish, along with a pumpkin roll and cinnamon rolls. Should be good.

Dan - I got to talk to my Sister in the Psyche Hospital this afternoon while we were driving to this holiday party at my BIL's house. She told.me how great the Lions game was. She is a huge fan like me. Umfortunately, it was not broadcast here but hopefully I'll be able to stream it from somewhere.

I love Pecan Pie, Chocolate Pecan Pie, Bourbon Pecan Pie . . . Oh, what in the hell am I saying, I LOVE PIE!

Thanks Dan. I have been talking with her at least once or twice a day. Yes, she is sounding very lucid to me on the phone. She is remembering stuff I don't even remember.

Good morning everyone.

Just lollygagging around this morning. Slept in until 815. I wanted to go further but someone else didn't. Eh, it's a nice day out might as well get going. Although slowly.

Chris I'm sure glad your sister is getting better. Have they taken care of her feet yet?

Drove the tractor a little yesterday after putting in the 100LL. Also ordered a new throttle handle and some paint and a maintenance manual. When I was messing around I found that I could see faint remnants of the original decals on the hood that said McCormick Farmall. Way cool. I can also see the M on both sides of the radiator. I can get a full decal set, that might be next.

One activity today is getting up on the roof at Mom's and sealing a vent pipe. I happened to notice a stain on the ceiling in the hallway and some wall board coming apart. I've had trouble in this same spot before, I need to come up with a clever solution so this stops happening. Since I'll have the ladder out I might get up on the garage and blow all the pine needles off. Mom will have a fit. Well she's not going to do it.

Okay have a great day everyone.

Mike - Thanks for asking about my Sister, I appreciate it! No, they have not taken care of her feet yet, I am still fighting that battle.

That's great you're having fun messing with your tractor. Just a suggestion here. Since your tractor will be sitting much more often than it gets used. I'd suggest adding a good portion of StaBil to the tank on a regular basis. Since my Ford truck sits >95% of the time, and it takes me a long, long, time to go thru a tank of gas, I always put StaBil in it eveytime I fill it back up.

Avgas (100LL) is a highly stable fuel & will far outlast any automotive fuel pump petroleum product. Unless, you want to spend the $$, additional stabilizer is not necessary in 100LL.

Norm - Thanks for that clarification. I was assuming it would be susceptible to degradation due to age just like regular gasoline. 👍

Norm, Avgas= recreational fuel? Or aviation fuel? Rec. gas in my area is over five bucks a gallon, I use it in my lawn mower and snow blower. Aviation, yikes $$$.

Avgas = Aviation Gas (100LL), 100 = Octane Rating, LL = Low Lead. This is a special blend of isobutanes for piston driven aircraft & does contain lead (tetraethyllead, TEL). Recreation fuel does not contain lead & is formulated via a different blend of isobutanes.
