Quick question about my Olds
Quick question about my Olds
I have an Oldsmobile and I’m trying to sort out a small issue. The car has been acting a bit off and I wanted to ask if anyone here has seen something similar. Any advice would help. Thanks.
OP your post is equal to walking into an auto parts store and saying "I need a part for my car."
When posting about a problem the first requirement is stating year make model and drive-train combo.
Then state what specific problem/symptom the car is having....starting, accelerating, stopping, a sound a smell etc...

I suspect that the OP is a bot.
No real person would describe the problem as simply a "small issue" and the car "acting a bit off" and nothing more specific. Not even the model and year.
My stomach gets "a bit off" once in a while. But a little Pepto-Bismol fixes me right up. That might work for this car, too.

1. To test out the effectiveness of his bot program.
2. To sit back and laugh at all the responses taking it seriously.
It wouldn't be the first time there was a suspected bot on this site.

Oh wow ok.
I see this in comments on TikTok from time to time. But it's not so obvious as this just became. I figured it was someone being airy, not completing their thoughts while trying to get to a bottom line...
On TikTok something will post and it seems like a legit comment but someone will eventually come out and label it a bot and others follow. The one similarity to this is there is no logical rebuttal posted to questions of verification.
At the same time you get the occasional new member here on CO who opens an account asks a legitimate question then disappears. No confirmation if issue was addressed etc. Similarly blending with the bots, just a bit more concise...
So the big question here, Jauntys post implies its a human running a program. Is Ai also doing this on its own, or not just yet ?

There were a couple telltale signs, the least of which was the chosen user (member) name OMNIDUTY. The Omni Management system was 1st released in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (game). (1) I suspected the user created this member name as a Portmanteau from the Call of Duty (game). A more or less subtle way of recalling/displaying his/her nefarious nature; (2) The post contained absolute gibberish & (3) The post/thread was created in a very select corner of the World Wide Web to test their skills (most likely) i.e. CO is a very, very small piece of the WWW universe. Kiddies (Hackers) will often test their programs on these types of site as forums are not known for spending hundreds of thousands of $$ for advanced/sophisticated phishing/bot s/w & algorithms. The real test(s) are conducted via 'links' between a couple of bots who manage to infiltrate a website (a forum is the least likely to detect bot links). I could go on. I was on this morning when I saw OMNIDUTY logged onto the site. Meaningless/Superfluous statements are 'generally' the key to bots. Yet, much can be done once a member account is created. One of the first things they'll do is look to see what other legitimate bots are operating on a site e.g. Google AdSense Spider, Google Spider, etc. They'll often hide (cloak) their program similar to a Google bot since they know the Google bot roams freely. Tons of things can be done once a member (user) account is created. Forums are very vulnerable to nefarious kiddie bots testing their skills.
