The *NEW* Good Morning Thread!
Mike - Happened to me one day several months ago - for no apparent reason; then, same statement from another member about 3-4 weeks ago. Eric addressed/answered the member I can't recall what/if there was in fact an issue. Eh, we're the IB test site nothing surprises me.
Random BS? It's been over 4 hours and no moderator has gotten with me. I even messaged Jamesbo and haven't heard back from him. I don't appreciate my post being selectively removed. Blame it on a computer but that computer only does what someone tells it to.
It's approved, and no I don't know what causes this because it's random. No one is immune from newb's to senior members. I check for moderated posts throughout the day, be patient.
Thanks Eric for looking. Don't worry about me Norm, I've been irritated all day. This just adds to it. I actually spoke to one of my favorite people on the phone a little while ago, so now I'm all better. I went back and looked and no I didn't mention the "C" word.
Everyone at work is annoying me today. My wall guy especially. Ordinarily this guy is awesome in every way, but today he just seems to be slacking, and not interested in working at all. Work sits in his cage while he is off screwing off. And when I ask him about it he's cavalier and blows me off. The lead can't seem to do anything and doesn't care. An unknown(to me) person is playing loud, stupid music on the bluetooth speaker and I can't even put in earbuds because it's too loud. It's apparent NO ONE gives a damn about the business at hand.
We've got a big TV up on the wall with the projected image of the airfield, as seen from a camera perched on top of the Renaissance Hotel. It shows that it's a beautiful day out, and my computer tells me it's 81* out. Can't wait to get out of work and go work outside. Actually I'm gonna work on the blue van a little. I've been neglecting some basic maintenance and that will be taken care of today.
I've been looking up people restoring Spartan trailers. Not sure I have the intestinal fortitude to do that. It's cool to look at their hard work, and of course Dave and Amy's finished example(and Corvette tow vehicle).

Good morning everyone.
Chris I think you guys are in for record temperatures coming up. You can't catch a break. Torrential rain and now hot. I forgot when construction starts for Abbey Road. Gabe is really on fire. Good for him.
Going on an hour for regular shift and I'm not even close to getting the first wheel. These young guys don't understand what their lackadaisical attitude is going to get us. Abbey Rd. was closed yesterday. They're saying 2 to 3-weeks for repairs, we'll see??? Ya, Gabe has been playing like a man possessed, I'll hate to this Spring season end, just one more game this Saturday. He'll start back up again around the end of August. He doesn't know it, and I don't want him to, but I'm helping my daughter out with some expenses to keep him on the ice until then.
Okay have a good day everyone.

Yep, supposed to be extremely warm the next couple of days. Maybe a record this afternoon, they were calling for close to 92°!
Seems as though it's taking me a long time working on ground wires, terminals, etc. Actually, it is. I've managed to address three significant ground points, today; although, I have not addressed either of the batteries BATT>FRAME ground point connections - yet.
I created a breaking point to stop, walked to Ace Hardware (procured a couple buckets of GoJo), p/u some AA & AAA batteries (paid an arm & a leg), & grabbed a REG sized Original Italian sub @ Jersey Mike's.
After devouring this thing I'll button things back up, examine some relays/fuses, see if any of my work thus far has resulted in any benefit. Baby steps. I will definitely be addressing each of the batteries BATT>FRAME connection points but they're both really tough to get to (I have to remove an assload of other stuff to get to them).

Hi guys,
Pretty boring day here today. Bill paying and home repair correspondence/documentation this morning. Maggie has got some kind of dog bug, yes dog's can catch colds. It could just be severe allergies, which we're hoping it is, she has a very runny nose and is severely congested. Dawn is taking her to the Vet tomorrow just to make sure she's going to be OK. That'll be a $200 bill, but it's better than Dawn worrying about her.
I'm opening up a dialog with my daughter to pay for 1-on-1 instruction for Gabe during the off-season from June until mid-August just to keep him on the ice. His organization has a couple of ex-Div 1 players that offer 1-on-1 instruction time. I'm also offering to act as his transportation to/from these lessons, especially since this time period is really the only break my daughter and her husband get from hockey for both boys. I don't care what the cost is, it's worth every penny to me because I believe he'll have the physical tools to go as far as he wants to in the sport as long as the work ethic and desire is there. I'd love to be the financial support he needs to get him to whatever heights he has ambitions for as long as he's willing to prove to me he's willing to put in the work. We'll see?
Hope everyone has had a great day and has a relaxing evening.

Weather is supposed to miss the Evil tonight but be here tomorrow night. If I were going to stay in this house, I would modify my back porch to be an emergency garage for bad weather. I'll just park under the magnolia tree.
The 68 H/O on BaT sold for $81k. That is stronger money than I had anticipated with some tired upholstery and wrong wheels. There is some question on the cowl tag and the engine stamp. However, provided all that is legit, a Legendary interior, a Gardner exhaust, and some correct wheels would be about all it needs. This is a non AC car and those engines did not live long, so that thing, if original, is an animal.

The weather that missed John tonight, is coming in here shortly. I can hear the rumbles to the west. May get 70mph wind gusts. A high probability of tornado's. They seem to think an area in and south of Grand Rapids is at the greatest risk, this is where the warm and cold fronts are gonna butt heads.
No improvements on dash instrument panel gauges, windows, dome light & radio functionality since last post, thus far; so, I elected to re-install the Indian War Bonnet (hood ornament) since it appears it isn't interfering w/ the electrical. Takes significant effort to remove & reinstall it but it's back on the hood. Checked only known circuit breaker in fuse panel and two other suspect fuses - everything checks thus far. I've been down this road before when I replaced the glow plugs when this same issue arose. Made some coffee as I intend to address a couple more things before I call it quits this evening. Did a basic voltage drop test on the ALT which passed. I'll continue w/ a more detailed ALT voltage drop test later on tonight to see if there remain any vagaries.
Chris - Yeah, if nothing else I'm meticulous & methodical. It sometimes comes w/ a price. Ay...Yi...Yi...Yi...Yi.

Dan - One time I was walking across the street in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois in the early evening (talking about two fronts butting heads). In no less than 50' of walking the temperature changed at least 15°F colder - crazy.
Chris - Pizza looks good. I'm still stuffed from Jersey Mike's.
John - I'm not 100% on-board w/ that 68 - nice car.........but. Just have an ill feeling about it. Midwestern storms can be evil, yet exciting. Hope you're spared any significant damage.

Norm maybe its time to say Bye Bye to the tractor money pit and time drain.
Go out and get yourself a new ride, turn key, smile, turn key repeat. just saying ... not that you asked

I've succumbed to replacing my entire instrument cluster. I've known of this issue for over two years - 1st symptoms intermittent, gradually worsening, etc., etc. Mine has finally gone completely Tango Uniform. These instrument clusters are historically notorious for weak, faulty, cracked soldering requiring re-flow. I won't bother ya'll w/ more details but this "is" my issue. Ford dealership will want ~$1,000 to R&R the instrument cluster. There are a couple companies who are in business who will re-flow the board, replace anything it needs (generally T5 bulbs) stuff like that. Cost = $199.99 (basic instrument cluster repair + 1 yr warranty). I have to remove the dash panel, radio & instrument cluster then pkg. it up for shipping. I bought the special tool to remove the radio (assembly) ~2 yrs. ago suspecting this day might/would come, but I was unaware it would eventually lead to a complete shutdown of my interior devices - radio, dome light, instrument gauges, PW, etc. The day has come. I've done all I can do other than send it in for repair. I'll call them tomorrow & get this done. Talk to them regarding turnaround time, etc. - they offer same day turnaround/shipping for an additional $50. I might venture to rent a car for several days while this pans out - not sure. I do have the Indian. Will need to look at my calendar pertaining to any appointments, but this has to be addressed ASAP. I'm such an **** butt plug I'll still clean each battery BATT>FRAME ground connections. Something to do while the instrument cluster is being repaired. Ay...Yi...Yi...Yi...Yi.

Well Thunder & Lightning is off to the proofers, hopefully I'll be spared the real deal tomorrow. The closest pine tree to my house is now a stump, so there is no issue there. Another one is broken, and another is leaning, but away from my house. I don't own any of these pathetic trees. People plant them because they are evergreen and grow fast, but no one thinks about how they just snap in serious winds when they're 40 feet tall. I do not want a tree within falling distance of my house or garage in the new place. Maybe the shop would be ok.
I put the mowers on the trailer and strapped it all down this afternoon. I will try to mow some before the weather after work.
Another thing about that 68 is, when you have such a small sample size, it's hard to refer to a prior sale unless one recently has occurred. If it hasn't, that sale is now the data point. For instance, the value of mine increased on that sale. The other issue is cars, along with guns, or any other masculine hobby, seems to generate the behavior that people swear up and down something is true when it clearly is not and they have no clue. Someone was like "for the new people here, this is not a 442" and I replied that, by VIN, the 68s and 69s are 442s, they just have a package. The next guy was like "the cubic inches says otherwise." So, I try to explain, but it falls on deaf ears. I can't tell sometimes if people are misinformed, or if they simply can't understand the written word.
Hell, I got a TLDR today on this site. I wrote two paragraphs. Are we that mentally declined? Am I that boring that people can't read a couple paragraphs of something I wrote? I used to tear through novels. A week or less. Sometimes, a day, if I were bored and it was good. I read less now because I use the phone's internet connection in bed before sleep instead of only reading paper any more. It's taken me 2.2 years to get through all of John Sandford's works, I started rereading the originals Christmas of 22. There's a couple miniseries that I am omitting. I am not sure what I will go for next. Maybe Stuart Woods, I can start over and see if I still like his stuff; if not, I'll donate it. Point being, do people just scroll by when it is more than one sentence? Is reading painful?

Good morning everyone.
Better start to the morning. Plus it's payday so the guy across the hall made popcorn.
Chris welcome to the club. That message irritated me yesterday but if I got it again it would make me laugh. Of all the things to get up in arms about. Many thanks to Eric for keeping on top of things.
I always wished I had a granddad who was an active part of my life. My one granddad died before I was born. The other still worked. He owned a small gas station and would get up at 4am(the horror!) to go to the station and he'd come home at 6, Grandma would have his dinner ready, then he'd go to bed. We had to be quiet so as not to disturb him. He was a nice man but I always thought of him as unapproachable. I was 19 when he died, he was sick for about a year, and when I would go to visit(he wasn't working at that point) we would talk, but we didn't have anything to talk about. I always felt bad about that. Even today I envy anyone who has a grandpa who does things with them.
Norm you like those big jobs. My diesel Suburban has a few wonky things going on with it, and I'm hoping a new alternator will help them. It only charges up to 12 something so that isn't helping anything.
John I had no clue what TLDR meant, so I put just that into a seach engine and it popped right up. So thanks, I learned something, and so early.
Well Friday. No overtime this weekend, it's all me. Hope everyone has a fine day.

I hope you avoid any really nasty weather today, but as you're obviously aware it's looking like it could get ugly. I think the worst for us is going to start between 1 to 2pm. I'm just hoping my wife is home from the Vet with the dog before it gets ugly.

I was really not close with either of my Grandpa's either, they both led lives similar to your's that was alive when you were growing up. My Dad was sure great Grandpa to my kids when he was alive, but he died early when my youngest was only 2, so they never really knew him. I always swore I'd do better, and I'm trying.
Called Circuit Board Medics for the warm & fuzzy w/ my questions - very impressed. They're located in Greenville, SC (6-7 hrs).
My PW are all located in the down position - no rain forecast for tomorrow. I don't necessarily want to travel 1.5 hrs (US Kids Golf) both ways w/ all the windows open (wind), slight inconvenience.
Truck starts, charges, operates fine - fingers crossed the instrument panel board issue can't get any worse & shut down the entire truck. I think I'll take my chances. What's the worst to happen? Let's spin the wheel! LOL
FEDEX facility is ~5 miles from my house. After I pull the instrument panel (Sunday) I'll likely drop it off & pick it up @ FEDEX via the Indian.
Need to get packaging items in order prior to Monday.

Hi guys,
We've been in the basement for the last 45-minutes but I believe the worst is past us now. Just high winds and heavy rain here at the house. I did not see or hear any hail.
Several areas barely north and northwest of St. Louis City got hammered with golf ball sized hail, some as large as tennis *****. Just as the worst of the cell was passing over St. Louis and across the river to Granite City, IL the weatherman said a tornado developed and crossed thru Granite City, but I haven't seen any damage reports yet. Also, just saw a report of Law Enforcement observed tornado on the ground quite aways to the southwest of us in Annapolis, MO. Still alot of unstable air to the southwest of us and smaller cells popping up. Not completely out of the woods yet.

Chris, it's looks like you might be in the middle of it right now. Stay safe. We had an 81 mph wind gust last night. Unconfirmed tornadoes in the area, probably EF-0, EF-1. I did not lose power, but my co worker down and across the street did, must be a different grid. Chainsaws are running nearby, but I saw no damage. Someone took a pic of a funnel cloud about two miles from me, but I'm not convinced that it isn't photoshopped. One of my grandfathers passed about three months before I was born, the other when I was four. I vaguely remember him. There is now a '72 W30 on B.A.T. looks nice. Has a Minore report on it. At the time that it was done a couple of years ago, it had the original black wheel wells, of course somewhere along the line, red ones were added, along with a rear deck spoiler. Norm, use your phone and GPS to watch your speed while driving the truck w/o the gauge cluster.

FYI, that's the 2nd one I've got within the last week, seems to be no rhyme or reason, nothing political or even remotely controversial.
