Hawards Roller Cam

Hi,
I'm just making up my mind which cam I should use,
has someone experience with Howards Roller cams.
Engine will get EDL-heads and later FAST EZ EFI, but now 800-carb.
Have already performer intake.
I want to have 3,70 gears in the back, 295/60 r15 tires, need PB and later TKO-600. I've now TH400.

Should be fore street use Stop sign racing ;-) but will be driven on strip 4-5 per year.

I want to shift between 5600-5800 rpm and have as much as possible of torque.

What do you think about this 2 Howards cams, will use them with the Howards roller lifter, are they to radical for the street ?

514825-10 NA 278 282 225 229 .560 .555 110 106 Hyd. Hyd. 1,4
1800-5600 Fair idle, Performance Street, broad usable power range.
514155-10 NA 286 286 233 233 .549 .549 110 106 Hyd. Hyd. 1,4
2000-5800 Choppy idle, strong low & mid range performance. 2500+ stall.

I'd really recommend to contact Mark (cutlassefi), with your build specs and ask him which cam would be the best for your build! He has already offered you help in your first thread!

Hi Dancutlass,
I'm in contact with cutlassefi, he is a very very helpful person.
I only want to make up my mind and hear some other opinions.
Because I don't really know how much hp vs. torque I need for the street.
Sometimes less is more ;-)

Fine you are in good hands then
I think it's not a question of what you "need" for the street, it's just a question of what you want^^
And what the TÜV says...have you thought about that already??

All I can say is Horward Cams has been around since the stone age.

You give some good information about your combo & goals but it's too incomplete and then combo changes, so I wouldn't even try to give you any cam recommendations.

Call Crane Cams and CompCams tech line and see what they suggest.

I'm not a BIG hydraulic roller fan, I like flat tappet cams.
