Flywheel question

I have a 70 455 W-30 4 spd. and when I pulled the inspection cover I noticed the flywheel had writen on it "73 Cutlass 350".
Is the small block and big block flywheels the same.
I am having a slight engine vibration ever since I purchased the car.

Hi Joe
The small block and big block flywheels are the same, so that shouldn't be the problem. Sorry but I don't have a good suggestion of what to look at next.

Check your harmonic balancer. If the ring is slipping, you can get a vibration. Beyond that, the clutch or even the flywheel may need to be balanced with the crank, etc. That would involve disassembling the engine. Also make sure the vibration isn't just a bad spark plug or wire.

Thanks for you replys. I was told by the previous owner that it spun a bearing and he changed one rod and crank. So I assume I have an internal balance problem.
That is a project for a later date.
