I like the idea of the tri-tone horn myself. I have a dual tone horn on my 57 Olds and it sounds mellow and non-obtrusive, but loud enough to take notice - man they were thinking well in those days. I think that listening to a tri-tone must almost be like listening to a music chord. Cool concept!

and installed rear side glass

-padded dash
-manual antenna base (mine broke when removing plastic nut
)
-nice driver's side vent window frame for a 2 door hardtop, will fit out of 54-56 olds or buick special or century (please no pitted out junk already have one of those)

hey, not too sure why the manual says that...i have a manual steering column that i seperated from the box with out any troubles.....i have a padded dash top, its not in the best of shape...but if your looking for one as a template this might work fine for you...........................john

the 56 is coming along good, as soon as i can figure out how to post on here ill put up some pics. i took a look at the dash pad and its real bad. there is a rip right along the center of it, and it falls apart in my hands as i touch it. the column has a big clamp on the bottom it with a bolt going threw the bottom if it. once you remove that it should come apart. ill have the pics up soon. i have to load them on the comp.....................john

. I'm going to give that a try this weekend. BTW if the dash pad is too destroyed it's probably not going to work. I wanted to take it to my interior guy and have him use it as a template
man, i saw that 56 on ebay a few weeks ago, in my opinon that is the worst color combo ive ever seen on these cars lol. but real nice car otherwise...... i dig the exhust ports coming threw the bumper on that 98.................john

BTW have you seen these with the extended bumper ends? I bought an extra bumper and I'm going to try to duplice this for my car

I have to hang a new pedal for my firewall mounted booster, so I have to put the seat in place to get the right height. So I did this today, put an eviction notice on a family of palmetto bugs(Huge F*cking roaches) I clean the seat to the frame. Also sprayed it down with some roach spray. Next I'm probably going to sand blast the frame and paint it.

, but I guess that's not an option. So I'm going with a 57-58 buick pedal and a chevy dual diaphragm booster with dual chamber master.Hope it all works out, but I really been dragging this job out. It should have been done by now
Interesting brake pedal setup. Wouldn't have worked in my 57, not enough room. I had all of the parts but still circled the braker conversion for a month before I started it. I did the full on front and back conversion. It's a little scary when you take it all apart, but once you get started it dosn't take long to get to the finish line. Good luck and keep posting the conversion.

Never noticed that there was two different clocks a stainless faced and blacked out one. Andybee just pointed this out in another thread, went to look in my car and sure enought the one installed had a blacked out face, luckly the extra one I had was the stainless faced one (I had never noticed). Just replaced mine















was this a JC Whitney trim for the 98?
