Recently, the Bendix power brake push rod on the '56 has been locking or binding up once in a while. Tap the brake pedal,the pedal locks. Release and tap again and it works fine for the next eight or nine times. If I drive with slight pressure on the brake pedal (which isn't the right solution) it never locks.

I replaced the brake pedal pad because the cup that receives the push rod on the underside was broken off and the push rod was wobbling. That needed to be done, but didn't solve the problem.

Anyone had this problem? Suggestions?
