Mufflers for Hedmans (58196) on 70 Cutlass?

Hi,

I'm completing a frame-off restomod on my 1970 Cutlass. Hedman Hedders (58196) already installed. Wondering what would be best to connect to these 3" (collector) headers. I don't want loud at idle nor the drone at highway speeds but do like a roar when I "get up on it". My Harley Road King provides enough noise on days I need it.

Recommendations please? I read some other posts and folks seem to recommend the Dynomax Super Flow? The sounds available on Dynomax website just don't do it for me. I can't hear the difference between several mufflers there.

Pics of completed car coming soon. Hope to start her for the first time since resto THIS WEEKEND!!! I have a loaner pair of glasspacks for the startup as I don't want to totally scare neighbors with open headers.

Thanks so much.

I just installed a set of Hedman Hedders on my 71 98. I have 45" Thrush glasspacks on it and I think it sounds great. It is actually less "raspy" than with the exhaust manifolds.

Thanks! Is the thing drivable with those or does it numb your brain on decent length trips?

Actually, I haven't taken it out of town yet. I've only driven it in town to take the family out to dinner or to get ice cream for the wife and kid.
