I’ll share.

This pic was taken right after I installed the EFI.

How CANADIANOLDS & VORTECPRO view us pee-ons. Is it any coincidence that they both have all caps user names?

This is how I see it, certainly CN has done a lot with the Oldsmobile engine, theres a lot to be learned for the Olds enthusiast by paying attention to his posts/builds, now I understand he could intimidate some, but still he should be welcomed by the forum for what he can bring for information. I'm sure if he gets respect he will give respect. As for how I view you: "pee on" has never entered my mind when thinking about you, I don't think about you to be honest. But what I can see from your posts, your trying to make your car what you want it to be, theres nothing wrong with that.

Ya that’s true. The owner had never run a car down the track in his life.

he’s almost 70 years old and rows the gears like a 70 year old. We had a laugh at his mph too… he coast’s across the stripe and does a 2.5 60 😁😁😁

it’s an 11 sec car with any other driver

he’s having fun though

Just about ready to go, a few odds and ends to finish on the car. I did fire it up, but only ran for a very short period of time to confirm timing, etc.........I'm not getting much oil up to the top end.

When I primed the oiling system, before start up, I was getting 75# of pressure, but very little oil flow getting up to the rockers..........I've got to pull the intake and have a look at what is going on

We FINALLY made it out to the track to get my licensing runs in, on our final run (full track pass) it went 8.82 @ 148mph, was on the limiter at about 1000', .........so we are going to have to make some changes (rear gear, tire size, or converter).

Unfortunately, after checking a few things over, I found it was eating the thrust bearing.........so we are going to have to get that sorted out.

I'm sure it is going to be capable of running in the 8.50 range, once we get everything sorted out.

66, that is an impressive feat to do what you do with what you have listed "Bone stock 425 66 Toro long block big comp cam air gap with 850 dp demon and 1.75 headers runs 11.8 at 119." Congrads

Shifting at 6600 rpm it's got probably 70 passes plus on it. It's on an engine stand now.

Have you had a chance to inspect the bearings?

Not yet. Had 50 lbs of oil pressure at full throttle and 27 or so idle. So it isn't dead at least.

Here’s the deal.
there are some stock, moderate and race builds going on that get picked apart. That’s what ruins it for others that need the knowledge some of us had. Mark Remmel and I share a TON of information on a weekly bases. I just did a how street 455 that 3 builders had been into and it had 20 psi oil pressure. I was going to post everything in great detail what I found. It was a mess. It has 60 hot driving now. I’m not posting anything because I hate arguing

Who is going to argue in a sub forum for build info. All you have to do is post it and move on. Nothing has happened there since 2018. Have a good day Dan.

It would be great if you and Mark got together, he built the 455, you tested the 455 at the drag strip. Think how informative this could be, you could show the forum how to makes a 12 bracket 455 car, and at the same time Mark could prove his engine building skills based on real performance-everybody wins!

it’s not mine. I did it for a customer. I’ve built a ton of hardcore engines of most brands. Helping an Oldsmobile customer on a 440 Chrysler for his road runner now as it too has been apart a few times.

most of the engines I posted here are not racing’s engines…maybe that’s why they are not in the “Racing engine forum”

oh ya, lol
