he’s almost 70 years old and rows the gears like a 70 year old. We had a laugh at his mph too… he coast’s across the stripe and does a 2.5 60 😁😁😁
it’s an 11 sec car with any other driver
he’s having fun though

Just about ready to go, a few odds and ends to finish on the car. I did fire it up, but only ran for a very short period of time to confirm timing, etc.........I'm not getting much oil up to the top end.
When I primed the oiling system, before start up, I was getting 75# of pressure, but very little oil flow getting up to the rockers..........I've got to pull the intake and have a look at what is going on

We FINALLY made it out to the track to get my licensing runs in, on our final run (full track pass) it went 8.82 @ 148mph, was on the limiter at about 1000', .........so we are going to have to make some changes (rear gear, tire size, or converter).
Unfortunately, after checking a few things over, I found it was eating the thrust bearing.........so we are going to have to get that sorted out.
I'm sure it is going to be capable of running in the 8.50 range, once we get everything sorted out.

Here’s the deal.
there are some stock, moderate and race builds going on that get picked apart. That’s what ruins it for others that need the knowledge some of us had. Mark Remmel and I share a TON of information on a weekly bases. I just did a how street 455 that 3 builders had been into and it had 20 psi oil pressure. I was going to post everything in great detail what I found. It was a mess. It has 60 hot driving now. I’m not posting anything because I hate arguing

It would be great if you and Mark got together, he built the 455, you tested the 455 at the drag strip. Think how informative this could be, you could show the forum how to makes a 12 bracket 455 car, and at the same time Mark could prove his engine building skills based on real performance-everybody wins!
oh ya, lol
