Windows: Blue Green, or Clear?
My car came as a project in pieces. I have tinted greenish blue Front windows which came from an a/c car and clear rear quarter windows I think are original to the car.
I am installing a/c.
The front windows are scratched and passenger side I think the previous owner Welded AND Sandblasted near it. Maybe they can be poLished? I should replaced them eventfully.
What is consensus on windows? Is one color more desirable? what was point of Green Blue glass? Should I keep the clear quarters or sell them to get some green ones to match the front for time being?

Green was the early ""tinting"". It cuts down, a bit, on heat transmission into the car.
All depends on what you want. I switched to clear glass with ceramic tint. I didn't like the green because it makes the blue interior look like puke. One annoyance is only the green windshield comes with the sun band.

As said, it really depends on what you want. I will say, in my opinion, they should all match. If you're putting AC in the car you probably want the tinted (green) glass unless you want to put aftermarket tint on it.
I will say I have 2 '69's. My 442 convertible has factory AC so it has the green glass and tinted windshield. Black interior so things feel pretty dark inside with the top up. The other car is a '69 S with parchment interior and no AC so it has clear glass. The difference is night and day. The S is incredibly bright inside and feels more 'open'. It's a nice alternative to the dark feel of the black interior.

Just curious, are both tinted and clear available? Someone told me clear is hard to get. If restoring a car that has no ac I wonder if putting tinted glass is noticeable or takes away from originality much?

Not sure I'd say clear is hard to get. I have no idea what percentage of restorations go with clear vs. tinted but I'm sure you can find whatever you want. I actually have 2 clear passenger side door windows ('69) that I couldn't give away. I've seen some of the parts houses (Parts Place comes to mind) that offer reproduction tinted side glass.

At least until 1973 , options A01 & A02 (tinted windows and windshield ) were offered as a separate option from option C60 ( Air Conditioning ) .
Although they were separate options they were often ordered together , because tinted windows increase the efficency of A/C systems .
