Just a little update, Hopefully the engine will be together in the next few weeks, the transmission is here, I still need to order a fuel system and exhaust. I hope to be back on the road come spring.
On a side note I have been polishing Olds valve covers for some time now and its going very well, if you guys have any interest, need polishing or are looking for Olds valve covers drop me a pm!

Thanks so much, it's going to the dyno soon. I'm excited.....lots of issues and poor choices were made, but in the end it has all been repaired and or replaced.

Please don't be jealous. I ran into significant issues with some workmanship and ended up paying way too much for some of the components. Ahhh live and learn ........ But thank you so much

pulleys

I've read this whole thread several times and admire what you have done and are doing. My question is why have you gone to the Billet pulleys and accessory mounts, I thought the earlier low mount for the A/C was very clean.

Some of it was esthetics, some of it was to gain more adjustment of the aftermarket A/C, and I had slung a few belts in the past.....seemed like a good idea..

Its been SLOW progress but we finally went to the dyno facility yesterday with the 468! I have a 12 bolt Moser rear end coming, narrowed 2 inched on each side, 3:73 gear, changing the fuel system over to electric, as mentioned before a Hughes 4L80E trans with the controller and paddle shift, I just received the ARH headers (WOW they are amazing, about to order the rest of the exhaust and hopefully we will be back on the road soon!

Another session to the dyno after a few minor changes....
Car is now on the lift for the following (not in this particular order)
1)Move Lokar pedal away from floorpan angle to firewall (we were having trouble getting WOT due to angle of floorpan vs pedal travel!
2) Drill and pin the D coupling from IDIDIT steering column to steering shaft (factory design is poor)
3) brace steering column inside for added security/rigidity
4) move aftermarket shifter back on trans hump 4 inches (too close to dash for my personal liking)
5)Install engine, and 4L80E tranny, new cross member, ARH headers etc, measure new driveshaft for modification
6) Install Aeromotive Phantom looping fuel system into stock (NEW) tank and plumb everything with Braided PTFE hose, 8AN from tank to firewall mounted regulator, 8AN return from regulator to tank, dual 6AN to carb log
7)Install Fast EZ TCU wiring and hand held computer, throttle position sensor etc
8) recheck all electrical plumbing, connections, etc
9) mock up Spintech 3" exhaust, X-pipe, tail pipes etc, remove for Cerakote process
10) Install Moser 12 bolt 3:73 rear end with Disc brakes
11) reinstall exhaust, driveshaft etc
ORDER DOT SLICKS lol lol

HAVE FUN

I am actually a dealer for a local brake manufacturer. I am running drilled and slotted disc's all the way around. I ran their stuff on the front prior to changing the rear, I have been very happy. To date I have about 12 of their systems on friends cars and all of them are overly pleased, especially for the price. A complete 12 bolt rear conversion with grade 8 bolts and nylok nuts, drilled, slotted and powder coated red would cost 375.00 plus shipping to anyone interested!

We had A LOT of problems with the March Serpentine setup and a long battle with the brakes, We worked on getting pressure to the back brakes for a few weeks, gravity bled, vacuum bled, etc, we just couldn't get any pressure to the back, we finally build a device to force the fluid through the lines from the MC and BOOM..... they worked perfect, Ironically my 1961 Apache project has the same MC and we had the exact same problem, bench bled it 5 times, gravity bled, vacuum bled and still no pressure to the back, we hooked up the force canister and brakes work great now.
The March system is an awful fit and only designed to work with the short water pump, I am running a polished high flow pump which is the longer pump, due to the fact that I could not find a high flow polished short pump!
We cut the face off of the water pump pulley and welded aluminum bar stock back to it and machined the face to where it lines up perfectly with the crank pulley, but nothing else lined up at all! we had to machine aluminum shims for everything.
So the brakes and pulley system are now lined up, the new Phantom fuel system is installed and working, its time to run tranny lines, and install the paddle shifter and computer for the 4L80E!
To be honest I have been working hard on the 1961 Apache, its a rat rod truck, 6.0 LS with a Magnuson supercharger, 4L80E, ratty body, 4 wheel Disc brakes and very nice interior etc, its quite a unique build!
