Off the top of my head, I want to say Ransom Eli Olds, who of course, built the REO.

How many times does the word Oldsmobile appear on a 1969 442 body? for extra credit. How many times does it appear on a 1969 Cutlass body?

Although I don't consider the air cleaner a body part, You're right... nowhere on the 69 442.

However, a 69 Cutlass has Oldsmobile in Script on the hood also.

So my friend, you have the floor w/o the extra credit.

Here's an interesting one I learned not too long ago:

What option offered in 1924 by Oldsmobile became another industry standard?

nope.

Although it does have a little to do with changing an existing part from one naturally grown element to a refined element as a bit of a clue...

DING DING DING! We have a winner!

I thought about posting those pictures or just mentioning something about the Rolling Stones tour, but I figured people here like pictures of cars, so I went with that.

Anyhow... ah64pilot, You have the floor. Give us a good one!

LOL -- I used to have a '71 Riviera with that option...Buick called it "Speed Alert". Well, my particular car had a speedometer issue which I never could figure out (lubing the cable, replacing the speedometer didn't fix it). When I'd get up to say, 40-45mph, the needle would start fluctuating. by 50mph, it would bounce hard enough to bury the needle.

If you did not want to use Speed Alert, you turn the **** all the way to the right until the pointer moves off the scale. In reality you couldn't turn the blasted thing off though.. So at any speed past 50mph, my speedometer needle would activate Mr. Speed Alert every time it bounced off the scale.

My dash wouldn't just buzz steady, it would buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz.

MADDENING. *It was one heck of a car though*
