Need a little help - Transmission Fluid

I have a 1953 Oldsmobile super 88. Can anyone tell me where the transmission fluid reservoir is located?

I am no expert on this era, but it's always contained by the transmission housing either automatics or manual. As a general rule, automatics usually have a dipstick (my alero is auto no dipstick a check plug) and manuals are a check plug on the side of the transmission case.

I hope that someone with this era of car will chime in.

Pat

The transmission fluid is checked and filled through the dipstick filler tube . This should be located on the lower passenger side (right) of the engine, kinda back in a hole and may be a little hard to see at first. I use a flexible funnel and that seems to help in getting the fluid in the transmission and not all over the car.....Tedd

Wow!, I'd never heard of an automatic without a dipstick before today.

Thank you.
A dipstick seems to be a better idea, I guess it was a manufacturing cost cutting move to just have a plug.
