Convertible Top Hydraulics: Brake Fluid, PS Fluid or Transmission Fluid?

What's your vote? I've used both along the way. I can't remember what's factory, but I know both work.

The key difference seems to be what smell develops and how much paint is left under the back seat when you blow a seal or hose...

Thanks in advance.

Do not use brake fluid because it does remove paint! The book reads-use hydralic oil- I would read that as meaning trans fluid, but PS fluid would also work as would other hydralic oils such as #32 or #68 or whatever you have as long as it is not too thick...
