72 Cutlass Supreme Power steering belt/pulley squeal

Just got my engine and trany in so it can be driven on a trailer to go to the paint shop. All I have is a running shell, but when I rev it up the power steering belt/pulley seams to be squealing. I have two belts running over the power steering pump pulley, one the alternator and the power steering pump belt. both are set as close as I can tell as far as tension. The belts are new NAPA belts the best they have. The pulleys where blasted and repainted. Are things just too new or do I have the tension wrong.

The power steering belt is likely too loose. Completely loosen the alternator belt, then tighten the power steering belt properly, then tighten the alternator belt.

Beings the power steering belt is so short how tight? I think the book calls for 1/4" to 1/2" slack that seams a lot for such a short distance.

Also, you might want to look at the emblems on your front fenders for the spelling of CutlAss.
