Power Steering Pulley- Endplay

I've declared it to be drive belt replacement day in the garage. I took the belts off the Olds without much problem but noticed one of the fasteners must have been lost then replaced with whatever was available. I did notice some pretty major endplay in the power steering pulley. It travels a total of 1/8" with a bit of a "catch" about half way. Since the belts are only $5 a piece I will go ahead and replace them so I can keep driving. My question is how much play is too much? I would guess 1/16" maximum but I couldn't find it in my manual. Oh yeah, the belt is worn unevenly with a groove in one side. So this makes me figure something is not quite right.
