Can not stay charged
#122
Update: As of today since finding the parasitic draw which was Not the aftermarket radio but more specifically the amplifier…..moisture has caused the amp to stay open even when the car has been shut off causing the remote power to stay on when it should be off of course whe the car is off and there is no power…..so historically it has slowly drained the battery
As far as the battery and alternator: Charging system without cranking holds a 12.41 then when car is turned on and running it’s at 14.33…….doesn’t seem bad and appears to be charging
However, I have not been driving the Olds as I’m stil getting low oil reading so without it being under a load like driving with rpms going I don’t have a true true charging accuracy…..any thoughts

Diggin it that you found the draw. Get all that wiring fixed nice and neat and your electrical problems should go away.

Yes yes thanks for that all my wires are cleaned up however I thought to order a new electrical wiring harness from Fusick Friday so I’ve done some troubleshooting and saved some money however this new electrical harness I am gonna let an automotive electrical specialist do it…..
Do it now and with new wiring from front to dashboard (modern wiring) then in the future it would much simplified……
Now next step is finding out the oil pressure issue ……at idle it’s sits good at but as it heats up drops low …..when I hit the throttle to come off the fresh start idle then it really gets low …..
Ive been told that my timing seems off ……
What I’ve done so far: fresh oil change with thicker weight oil ….added a half a bottle of Lucas oil treatment (see pic)
Jacked up engine dropped oil pan expected the oil pan for debris and shavings ( all was clear)
Inspected the oil pump ( Melling M22Fsee pic) nothing clogging screen also this pump was put in years ago however very little miles has put on been sitting mostly.

Get one of the mods to make you a new thread on oil pressure. That way it won't get lost in the electrical thread.
That engine is clean. You can check to make sure the pickup sits parallel to the bottom of the pan.
While the pan is off pull one of the main bearing caps and see what the bearing looks like. Clean as that lower end is would surprise me if the bearings aren't new.
Possible that an oil gallery plug got left out or put in the wrong place but you say it's a hot oil condition and worse under hard acceleration when oil gets thrown to the back of the pan. Odd for 20w50 to act like that.

Yes I will post to oil pan thread and the angle of the picture might have screen appearing not flush but I try to show a better angle …..
and for the bearings I have not taken anything off to check in to further just mainly checked the oil pan for shavings or discoloration
