Beautiful car. I learned to drive on a '73 Custom Cruiser.

If you don't mind my asking, what does it cost to ship a car from the U.S. to Italy?

Nice ride! Always loved these big boats. Even better that its a droptop. I think you might need to check out the fuel for this car. What is the Octane Italy is running now?

I saw a car almost exactly like this for sale in Calgary not long ago. Where did you get it from? Hope it arrives safe and sound.

Forgot to mention. You're now officially enrolled as a member of the land yacht club. Olds64 is the club president for life. Does your new ride come with a captains hat?

In a previous auction I have lost for a 72 Chevy Impala from Missouri, the guy that have the car for sale said that have a shipping company that could pick up the car and ship to Italy for 2,440 dollars, in St Louis there is a dealer that has shipping quotes, and to Italy is 2,100 dollars, even the guy that sold mine said that had a shipping company, but I asked a friend of mine that use to import the cars for the guys in the forum I am in Italy, I will pay some more, but I'm sure to avoid problem with Italian custom, this is my first time to buy in US, and really I don't know what to do for clearence, and a wrong comma in the papers it's enough to see the car in picture only for a long time I believe

actually in Italy unleaded fuel is 96-98 octanes, I use it for my 72 Lincoln even because it is the only one avalable, I have read in somewhere I don't remember where, that in US leaded fuel disappeared in 1975, so, since 1972 engines had been enabled for unleaded fuel, but since my english it's not as good as it should, I could have misunderstood the written
I bought the car in Oswego NY, but the guy that sold it , he sold it for another guy from Liverpool NY

Hi Ken, have you sold your green delta? so another green delta on italian roads very good
the guy that sold my one, said the car needs a new top, the paint is original, but by the pics looks nice, I will see when it arrive home its conditions, he said there are no mechanical problems, the body and the frame are solid, I haven't seen pics of the undercarriage, hope the bottom be in good conditio without rust or rotten spots, he seems to be honest and I trust the car will arrive in the described conditions. This is my first Olds, what lack or flaw may I expect in this kind of car?

You have it correct. The first year that cars in the U.S. required unleaded fuel was 1975. Leaded fuel did not disappear then as there were still many cars on the road that required it. I don't know when the selling of leaded fuel finally faded out, but I would guess it was in the mid-to-late 1980s as by then cars built before 1975 were becoming scarce relative to later model years. I don't think there was any single, set year for leaded fuel sales to stop. Gas stations just stopped carrying it as demand faded away. You can still buy it, I believe, in some places that service rural areas as it is sometimes still needed for farm equipment (tractors, etc.).

hi guy, I have seen a green delta 88 on wiki , with a white top and ray wheels, very beautiful. mine needs to be repainted, the fenders have spot of rust, the left door need to be serviced because it does not lock as it should. when the car arrived in Italy has been taken to a specialist in american cars garage to be serviced. they have replaced the exaust manyfold gaskets and some cooling system manyfolds that were not in good conditions. at the moment they are replacing the top and others job in the interior, not in hurry because at the moment there are serious problem to have italian registrations and I can't put the car on the road. Hope they clear the problem soon, a lot of people is in my same conditions
