1967 Delmont 88 Kick Down Relais?

Hallo guys

Here is Martin again after some busy privat weeks.
My question is about a friends 88 kick down. It doesn`t work at all. It`s a 425 cui with TH400 transmission.
We found something in the motor bay that seems to be a part of the system.
Has anybody got an idea what it is and how it works. Everything seems to work but that " Relais " shown on the pics.
If this part is broken, is there a place where we can get a new one?

Last weekend we`ve been in Switzerland where we met another 1963 F-85
Convertible. A historical moment, banned on a few pics

Thank`s a lot for your efforts and help, Claudia & Martin

The round thing in the photo is not a relay, it's a switch to control the kickdown and the variable-pitch torque converter. Diagnosing correct operation of these functions is outlined in the factory chassis service manual. The issue could be in either the switch or in the transmission itself.

Hi,

thank you very much for your answers!
@copper128: our friend did test the switch and it doesn´t work at all anymore. Do you have an idea where he can buy a new one? Until now, he couldn`t find a dealer who sells this switch?

Have a good time,

Claudia
