Well the DMV wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Two hours and 18 minutes. What a stupid setup they have in there. Along with 18 lanes and 4 people actually manning them. Oh and the obligatory screaming baby sitting right in front of me.

Was a beautiful hot day today until I decided to put plugs in the Saturn. Then it clouded up and started thundering. So now I'm inside babysitting. Just when the dogs calm down a little and I think I can go back out, more thunder. There's a message here but I'm not smart enough to figure it out.

Good luck Jamesbo with the Burb. Did you ever look at the drop top?

I was planning on going to Marietta for pizza, but with the impending storms doesn't look like I'll be going. Oh well, part of the message I suppose.

I didnt chance goin to Chic FilA tonight. The storms are moving in around here now. We have no rain here yet, its still to the East of us but moving our way at 30 mph. They show some low cloud rotation in that storm too. I already told Larry I get the hall closet, lol. We have no basement. Its muggier than heck and its very still right now. The wind has stopped.

I guess the worst storms are supposed to hit overnight with up to 3 inches of rain included. Just what we need. Its supposed to go through tomorrow morning. Probably no Bellacinos tomorrow night...

I just hope if we get the 80 mph winds they're saying we could get tonight, that this big dead maple tree stays in the ground.

Mornin' all.

You're right, Dan, that was a long wait. It wasn't as long as I expected but it still wasn't acceptable.

Got plugs, oil and filter, and wipers done on the Saturn yesterday. It should be all set to go for the smog test today. I've heard it will pretty much pass as long as the engine light isn't on. Every year around March or April the light will come on for a couple weeks, then go off. I don't know why. I don't do anything for it, just one of those things.

Jamesbo if things get too bad there's always the mountains.

Sandy do you ever go to the shows in the Tin Can, not to show of course but just to be there?

Big day today. The aforementioned test for the car, the tag office, the eye doctor, the credit union. Guess where it all starts. Have a good one all, one more to go(for normal people).

I tried telling them once that the "2" in SW2 meant 2500, but they didn't buy it. Saturn didn't make a 3/4 ton wagon they said.

Morning All!

Well we survived the big dramatized storm around here, lol. We had a little light rain, no hard winds or thunder and lightening. It moved itself on around us!! Clay's wife said out in Solon they had the tornado sirens blaring, so it was probably a little worse that way. They kept interrupting TV with weather updates, which is good, but they were soooooo dramatic, lol.

This morning it's still humid and temps are in the low 60's right now, heading to around 68 - 70. Drier air is supposed to come in tonight and get down to 55, then around 71 and pleasant tomorrow. I'll be glad to see this humidity get the hell out of here! Maybe the AC can be shut off and windows can be opened for a few days. I hate to see the electric bill... Saturday is looking good for the Ravenna show!!

Another quiet day in here. Clay's emails have been slow, which is good for the guys I guess. Tons and tons of quoting..... be nice to start seeing some orders out of alll these quotes.

I think I will go to Macedonia at noon and go to the vet's office and get Doodle some Revolution flea stuff. I'm out of it for him, and I saw a flea on him last night! I just wish the stuff wasn't sooooo expensive. It costs $89 for 6 little tubes of the stuff. Of course it's for ticks and heartworm and all that stuff too.... so they say. I have to get his rabies shot done too, it was due in March.

Good luck with your E-Check today, Mike. I hate that place, lol. And no, I've never stopped at a show in Tincanio. I'm usually gone with the Cutlass, lol.

Send me a friend request on Facebook, Dan. I'd look you up but I forget your last name, lol.

Well you all have a great day.

Hola, amiga y amigos de Olds

Whelpt, another scorcher down here in the swamp, but I gather we're not alone. Spose to get into mid-90s today, w/ heat indices well into the triple digits. And this ain't even summer yet . But I can't complain. This is the coolest on average we've been in years so far this spring.

Jamesbo, you fergit your're talkin' to the king of procrastination here; so I haven't bought that little lightey-thingy (!). I'm still dealing with the holes in the yard. In the back of my mind, I think I'm hoping I can do some pig hunting in the fall. I need to get some use from that .357. They seem to stay out of the flower beds, miraculously; so it's really just a big annoyance. What sneaky buggers they are.

BTW, were those radishi or beets, Sandy & Jamesbo?

Jamesbo, dem ladies must see you comin' a mile away. I'd have to lock away the ol' razor in my safe. My condolences, friend. A man's razor is like his wallet --> steer clear, ladies! If you need any help with the murder, just send out da' bat signal.... (Of course, now that we know we're monitored by da' Gov't, we'll all wind up in the clink jes fer plottin'.... )

Clint, so awful to hear of your friend. I hope a full recovery is in store for him. That reminds me of that poor track marshal who tripped and was run over by the mobil crane and lost his life at the Canadian Grand Prix recently. Horrible, freak thing. Very sad.

Mike, did I miss how the emissions test went? And do I win a prize if I guess your first stop was at some 24x7 breakfast cafe with a big black and yellow sign in front?

Y'all have a great Thursday, buds.

Homecoming and Diamondale question

Good Moring! -- I'm coming for homecoming tomoro afternoon and plan on doing the Diamondale cruise fri eve. I will be driving the Saffron 67 F-85! Who can tell me what is the earliest they allow parking of cars in Diamondale on fri? I have a show flyer that says show is 6-8 PM but its been my experience at other places that if you dont go 2 hours before advertised show time all you get for parking is in "overflow" side-street areas? Can anyone help? email vorhaus@frontier.com if you wish.
Thanks
Tweed

John.... those are radishi. Aren't they nice? I'm jealous.

This big fellow was out in our parking lot this morning. He walked away somewhere now. Sure hope he doesn't get smooshed!

Morning all.

I didn't know that Crustaceans could live being in little pieces Radish, beet, either way they still work out in a salad.

Tweed, That sure is a nice looking f-85. Have fun this weekend.

So John are the holes in the yard caused by the critters or the .357? So the story with my burned buddy goes something like this. They have a skid steer (Bobcat to you Jamesbo ) that has a propane tank appartaus with a row of torches that sit out in front of the bucket. It torches the rubber right before the blades scrapes it off, but a hose let go and torched the entire machine. My buddy is luckier than the skidder, it's a total loss. His arms, legs, and half of his face suffered the burns. Sounds like he has a long row to hoe.

Soon enough even the 2500's will have to smog. Just about everything around here has to go through a test. 3/4 and bigger and all 1981 and older, only have an idle and 2500 rpm test. All the light dutys, 1982 and newer, have to do the IM 240 treadmill test. And all diesels no matter how big (even Semi Tractors) have to run a dyno test. We're like Kali Jr.

So we have ozone alerts during the summer. So we are supposed to mow after the heat of the day, and fill our gas tanks at night, etc, etc. Can someone explain to me how adding sunlight to C8H18 can turn into O3? People are soo dumb, they'll believe anything.

Spose to get close to 90 again today. about 10% humidity. Sure is making hard on the firefighters. They had a guy film as they drove down one of the main roads in the black forest fire. This is were my friends live. So far 3 out of the 4 I know still have houses left.
Pretty sobering. like a war zone.

Well the kids 19th birthday is tomorrow. We are headed up to the MX track this weekend for a 2 day class. Its supposed to cool down a bit to the low and mid 80's .

Have a great Friday all.

No rain expected, but man, what a sauna when I opened the door to go outside this morning! If we could get some of this humidity up your way, Clint, maybe y'all could get a leg up on that horror. Real sorry to see that. The FB movie was pretty telling. You guys are definitely in our thoughts & prayers. (And unfortunately, my .357 is pretty much like my Olds right now -- doesn't get near enough use! So dem holes are definitely from the varmints.)
Hope the buddy continues to improve. It does sound like a long road to recovery.

Jamesbo, good quips! I like the one with the socks. Once my great Uncle Paul (God rest his soul) was pulled "over" for driving on the sidewalk (honestly -- and he didn't know it); so it's downhill from there as far as seniors' getting pulled over.

Thank God Sandy declined the proposal; I have a wedding this weekend, and one the following weekend. One more would put me over the brink.

Y'all have a great Fright-day and weekend.

Lol! That's funny, Jamesbo!

Morning All!

Cloudy and cooler here this morning. Supposed to be sunny, but I haven't seen it yet. I turned off the AC when I got home last evening and opened windows. Much less humid.... It was windier than heck though!!

Clint.... we get those same ozone warnings here too when it's hot and humid. I don't think we have to worry about them this year though. So far it's been fall weather all summer. No one really pays attention to those warnings. They're pumping gas and mowing their yards at all hours of the day, lol. That fire out there is just horrible. I think I heard like 400 houses destroyed already? That's just sad. I hope your daughter has a nice birthday tomorrow.

They shut down our Louisianna plant yesterday when that explosion happened at that chemical plant. Our plant is in the same vicinity and they were worried about toxic fumes and such. So they shut us down and sent everyone home. They are back up and running this morning.

I'm glad it's Friday. Been a long boring week, lol. Looking forward to the Ravenna show tomorrow.

You all have a great Friday.

Howdy all.

Stayed up until 0230 and then slept until 1 this afternoon. Nice day out. I went up to Marietta for pizza last night and a huge storm blew through while we were eating. Then it was gone. We had rain down here but the dogs didn't chew through the walls. All that old furniture is still standing up by the walls. I think it's supposed to be nice for the weekend, I hope it is anyway. Jamesbo that wasn't me that suggested rice. But while you're at it, would you grow a little butter and brown sugar to put on it?

The emission test went okay yesterday. The guy said the state selected my car as the "random" car to have a special test. He didn't say what the special test was, but the car failed. It passed the regular test so I was good to go. What's the point of doing the special test if nothing happens when it fails? Odd.

John you are correct. The day started out at the Awful Waffle. Your prize? Come visit me and you can go with some morning.

This afternoon I'm going to the tag office to get all my new plates. The new ones are ugly. They had previously said that if you have a vanity plate you have to order it and put a regular plate on until it comes in. Now they say the vanity plates are just getting stickers and not new plates. That's fine with me. I'm not going to say what it's costing me this year, it makes me sound like a damn fool. Maybe that's not far off.

So four days starting tonight and then Florida. I haven't seen my Mom in months, before I was in Australia anyway. The week after that, new car time. At least I'm thinking that, I haven't heard back from the guy. He gets back from vacation tomorrow.

Okay off I go. Have a good afternoon everyone.

Happy Saturday everyone.

Good day for sleeping. I even left the phone on and no one called. Sunny, mild, very nice out now.

I lent my trailer to my neighbor last night. He had a Lincoln parts car he wanted to take to the recycler. I helped him get it up on the trailer, what a task. It was like working with myself, not having the right tools, trying things a few different ways, starting over a couple times. This guy is a little prissy. Slicked back hair, designer clothes, fancy shoes. It was cool to see him struggle a little. Good for the soul.

Scot good luck with the cast of Sparticus. Do they ever descend on anyone else's house? Don't forget to check their sneakers and wrist watches at the door.

Clint hope the kid had an excellent birthday. Today is my nephew's birthday, and also Shoep the 20yr old dog in Wisconsin.

Sandy hope you're cleaning up in Ravenna.

Here's a question. I want to buy a new flatbed trailer. Is it worth the extra dough to spring for an aluminum trailer or is the regular steel one not that big a deal?

Okay off to work. Wish I was at the Homecoming this weekend. I never get to do cool things anymore. Hope the attendees have a great time. Have a good evening everyone.

Evening All!

It was sunny and nice today, until about 7:30. Then some sprinkles started. Temps in the high 70's.

Long day and I'm tired. Lots of beautiful cars at the show. We got ourselves a Top 25 trophy. I felt a lot better this year than I did last year, that's for sure, lol.

Linda brought Emaline, Tina's daughter, with her to the show. Emaline says she likes carshows, but I think she likes the toys that Aunt Sandra brings her, lol. I gotta say though, she does no whining or moaning, groaning or complaining. Which is a great thing!! She sits in her chair and is good.

So Nicole calls me at the show and tells me that Charlie is in town, he's on his way to Michigan to see his daughter. Anyhow... seems that all of a sudden he wants his TV. Nicole was gonna give it to him, just so there would be no drama, but Larry stopped her. I was glad he did.

I told her that he went off and abandoned her, I had to move her, I saw her heart breaking when she had to get rid of her animals, I had to pay for Emmett to be taken, I hauled his stuff away and we moved her.... that TV is mine! I reminded her that he told both of us to "sell or give away" his stuff. I also reminded her that he let her get turned over to a collection agency with that back rent too.

He said he's going to Afghanistan in December, so why does he need this TV? Way I see it, he doesn't. He can go buy himself a small TV to use at his base until December. He has supposedly paid that collection agency off, but until I see a receipt I won't believe it. He told Nicole to have me call or message him on Facebook to talk about it. He won't like what I have to say, lol. He just needs to go away..... We don't need any more drama around here.

I'm taking Larry to the movies tomorrow to see Man of Steel. Nicole is going to buy him breakfast, and she got him some new pj's and I ordered him a set of grips for his 45 with the grim reaper on them, lol. I don't know if Jr. will be over or what.

Well I reckon I'll talk to you all tomorrow. Happy Father's Day to you!!

Here's our trophy from today! Nicole showed me how to make the pics big again, lol. Now if I can remember......

Posted pics of Homecoming in General Discussion, took a couple of trys to get the darn link to open, hopefully it's good now. The March of Dimes was raffling off a Rallye 350, ten bucks a pop, I bought two. The REO Museum had their annual raffle with a '86 I think, 442 w/11,500 miles, I sprung for one of those too! A clean, white/red '67 442 was for sale at a good price, I would love to own it, along with a red '65 Starfire. Sandy, the only way that I would get a trophy like that, would be to buy it myself! Congrats.

Good Evening Everyone.

The last couple of weeks have been real busy. I've been trying to get as much time as I can working on the Cutlass to get it ready for some big shows coming up. Still lots left to do. Also still trying to figure out why the Delta is getting hot when stopped in traffic. I'm starting to think it's time for a new radiator for it

I made good progress on the Cutlass today, except for the fact that when I turn on the hazard flashers with the car running, the fuse sparks. But I've already posted a thread asking about that.

I'm taking tomorrow off from working on the cars.

1969w3155, I'll check out those pics now. I really enjoyed the show last year. I hope I can attend again sometime.

Sandy, congratulations again.

Happy Father's day to all the Dad's out there.

Happy Fathers Day everyone.

Another nice day for sleeping. Though nobody told my boy that. It still actually gets a little chilly at work at night. The long ramp with the buildings on one side and the bank on the other makes a good venturi.

I went to get my trailer from my neighbor just now. He wasn't home so I just backed up to it and hooked up. I also saw that he broke all three of my straps and evidently the come along because he had a new one of those. Big gouge in the ramp on the trailer. Now, of all the wrecks I've hauled I've never broken a strap or put a mark in my indestructible trailer. I can't wait to hear what happened.

Scot hope the shindig is going well. Summit starts around 6 in the evening and at 8 they give out the little cruise awards. Have a good time and say hi to my buddy with the blue Barracuda for me, I'll be at work.

Paul your radiator might just be plugged up with dirt. Try some low power spray through the radiator and see if you can't clean it out. Are you reading a gauge that says it's running hot? Maybe it's just an indication problem?

Sandy the car looks great as always. Too bad the picture has a guy with a Toyota shirt.

Think I'll start getting ready for work. I was almost late last night because of helping with that trailer then my other neighbor wanted me to help him with something. Tonight I won't be in such a rush to get to work. Sounds funny to me, being in a rush to get to work. Have a good one everybody.

Mornin all.

Mike what are you lookin for a new trailer for it there's only one scratch in your indestructible one? I quit lending out my trailer. It usually comes back with a bent tongue, or a missing or crushed fender, etc.

Sure would be nice if they used strychnine in the insulation of electrical wiring. then maybe them critters would spend less time making a mess.

Well, It was a very educational weekend. The classes were long hot and dusty. I've never done so many push ups in my life. Divine feces am I sore. I have lots of work to do before this weekends race.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Morning All!

Tropical humidity out here today..... just horrible. Temps in the mid 60's now, heading up towards 83 later on. I'm hoping the storms they say could start late afternoon, early evening hold off until tonight. It's Olds night at the Riverfront!!!

I'm taking off at noon. Clay is back. No drama yet this morning, unless you count Brian's computer giving him fits over here right now, lol. It keeps shutting off and turning back on. He's on the phone with Houston right now.... I love drama!

Speaking of drama, I messaged Charlie and am waiting to hear back from him. I do believe that Nicole is heading to Connecticut with Devon today or tomorrow. Supposedly only for a week. Who knows.... I think the guy is here in town, but I'm not sure. He's supposed to come here and pick her up, then bring her back. She tells me now that she's not going to move up there. I don't know.

Larry had a good father's day. We went to see the Man of Steel..... if you're in to Superman, I guess it's good, lol. It was sold out, and we ended up sitting in the 2nd row, which wasn't a good thing. Had to strain the neck to look up at the screen, and I kept getting dizzy. Too much action and motion that close up for me. I'd shut my eyes awhile. It was an ok movie I guess. Lots of buildings and towns destroyed. Graphics were great.

Well I guess I better do something in the short time I'm here today, lol, so I'll talk to ya later!!

Hey everyone.

Quickly, Scot if you're gonna go up there, call first because they have a habit of cancelling the show if it looks like rain, and I'm hearing thunder now. 770-288-3200 McDonough would be a pretty long ride for nuthin' .

Check you guys a little later.
