Hi everyone.

You know you guys are killing me. You make it sound like I have acres upon acres of cars just sitting every which way. Although I wouldn't mind having that Iso. That car is gorgeous.

Sandy, Nicole and John are welcome to use a car this weekend, I just don't know how I'd get it to them. I go in to work tonight and work through Monday morning. How do you know I'm not a zombie? This is the picture they took of my sister and I at the Atlanta aquarium in June.
I look like I should be chasing Scooby Doo.

Well Clint should be on his way by now. Hope the trip is safe and uneventful.

I've been painting the closet in my guest room, and also have started painting in the living room. Yesterday one closet wall took me over an hour. I thought it would be a good idea to use a 3" roller. So after cutting in the corners and ceiling, the roller would make weird gouges in the new paint and I had to go over it three or four times to massage out the marks. The living room will be easier but slow as well because I'm cutting and putting up new trim.

Allan I'm not a fan of Pinto-based vehicles, so the Bobcat SW is not on the horizon. One never knows, though. Anyone know where the bare bones cars' names came from? F85 and T37. Seems random.

I'm guessing John is on the road as well. Hope we can get together next week.

Well it's off to work. The summer schedule is over so the planes are going to get loaded up with work now. Hope everyone enjoys their long weekend. Hope Nicole and John's trip is fun and safe.

Hey Allan can you look up in your books for me what the correct rims are for the 70 Vista Cruiser? Sixty people have looked at my post but no one has ventured a response. Am I missing something? There's some people on here that have to say something even if it's nothing, and they're not saying anything. Hm.

Mike, the 70 VC used steelie 14x6 wheels = code JJ I'm guessing that code is for Heavy Duty as the 71 and 72 also use the same wheel size and it's coded as heavy duty. Same as for the Cutlass Cruiser.

I looked up the 1970 Sales Brochure on the VC and Cutlass Wagon and it says that SS wheels were available as an option on all A bodies EXCEPT the wagons. So that means they needed a special wheel. Does this help?

Good morning everyone.

Jamesbo isn't the supermodel going to a holiday party with her 7 sisters with whom she doesn't get along? I thought that happened at every holiday.

Thanks Allan. While I had some time between planes last night I was looking around and I saw something on WAC that the wagons used 14x6, and the F85 exc wagons used 14x6JJ. Then I saw that the part number for the F85 wheels and the wagon wheels were the same part number. So who knows.

Changed an engine on a 737 last night. Got it up and torqued and mostly hooked up, but dayshift will have to run it. It was not a total fail this time because the plane had 23 hours ground time. There were a few other items that didn't get done either so the motor was no big deal.

Well I'm wacked. Gonna hit the sack so I'll see you all this afternoon.

Morning everyone. Since it's Saturn day I'm going to the boneyard and pull some parts for the Saturn. Cool, the pick n pull has a picture of each car now. Looks like there's some good pickin to be had and everything is half price this holiday weekend. It pored last night for about an hour so it might be a tad wet and muddy out there this morning.

Mike, you're welcome. I kind if wonder what the reasoning was for the VC wheels. I believe the VC and sedans used the same wheels because they both used a 116" frame? IMO if you have 15" SS on it, they should work just fine.

Jim, ah ha ha ha ha ha....you serious? I Jess don't bleve dat. I thought all de laborin was bred outta ya a long time ago.

Time to git at r. Also gotta pick up de boy and GF at de airport tonight.

Well that was a bust. The sale started yesterday and it seems like everyone and their dog was there scavenging. Everything was pretty chewed over so I'll just have to wait till there's a new crop o cars in about a month and go then when there should be less peeps.

Hi everyone.

Slept pretty good today. My boy woke me up around two and I let him out, then went back to bed and slept until almost 430. That's a little late, but since it clouded up and thundered, once, the dogs have no desire to go outside so I gained that time back.

Allan I like the look of the SSIII on the wagon but I want to put steelies back on and use the hubcaps. I've got any number of GM steel 14" wheels hanging around here, I don't think I'll worry about it. And to think when the PO bought the car 8 years ago in Pennsylvania he could have had the four wheels they took off when they put the rally wheels on. Guy said, nah, I don't want to haul them around. Sheesh. Didn't he know that someday he'd sell that car to a guy who likes spare parts?

Jamesbo take time to smell the roses. After you plant them. I'm too impatient to have a garden. I mean, I want to plant something and then have fruit the next day.

Hope all the travelers are having a good time. I'm about to travel to work. The sun is out now and it looks like it might be a nice night. Have a good one everybody.

Morning everyone.

De boys flight got delayed yesterday so the airline put him up in a hotel overnight. Supposed to be on the the ohhh six hundred flight this mawnin. Buuuttt, it got cancelled so now it's the oh eight thirty flight. Seems like this was all due to a breakdown on the original plane yesterday.

Oh yeah, worm.

Hi everyone.

I can't believe how muggy and humid it's been these last few days. I don't know why I can't believe it, it's Atlanta in August. I guess I was spoiled with the nicer than usual weather. I still like hot. Beats the alternative.

Clint that's a sweet looking trailer. Hope the trip went well.

Wow Allan that's nice of the airline to put him up. I think we're seeing this more than usual because you're not allowed to stay in the concourse over night. They flush you out and you have to sleep in the lobby or wherever. I can tell you that one flight cancellation will disrupt the whole day.

Friday tonight. The last two weren't too bad. Both nights we waited at length for the airplane and then stayed late. Tonight I'm pretty sure will be a disaster from the git-go. I have no idea what I'll be doing but I do know who the lead will be.

Well better get to it. Hope everyone has a bash tomorrow and enjoys the day. I'll be mowing unless it rains. Have a good night.

Mike, it's pretty common for the airlines here to accomodate passengers they strand. The original flight delay meant that the connecting flight was missed. That in turn wouldn't allow transfers to a later flight (on the same airline) so the airline ended up stranding quite a few passengers in CYY. They have an arrangement with local hotels to look after this kind of issue. They also are bound to provide shuttle service, meal vouchers (which de boy and his friends got) for din din and brekkie. LOL there's no awful house in Canada.. BTW, are you a member of their 'Regulars Club"? You should be.

Well this mawnin he and friends were up at oh four hundred so they could take the shuttle to the airport. The hotel shuttle only runs every 45 minutes and they were told by the carrier to be early for the oh six hundred. When they got to the airport it turns out the oh six hundred had been cancelled the night before (reason not given) and they didn't have the courtesy to notify the stranded passengers that the next flight wouldn't be till oh eight thirty. So when de boy and others lined up, there was a lot of heated comments about the airlines inconsideration. To soothe ruffled feathers the airline handed out 10.00 vouchers for another brekkie or snack. De boy says everyone basically was falling asleep on their feet because they didn't get any (or much) sleep.

This is why I don't like booking flights that aren't direct. I hear you on the concourse issue - we had to sleep in waiting area at IAH when we went to Mexico in Feb. It was not pleasant or comfortable. On the way back we stayed at a hotel for the 7 hour layover, but it was also noisy and we didn't sleep well. De boy and I both agree that the airport shuttle drivers are maniacs who probably are trying out for NASCAR.

The carrier? Air Canada. Everyone here knows they suck but they're a major player in the industry. What these kids needed was a travel consultant to bundle their flight/hotel so they could get the best of direct flights and hotel discounts. As de boy says, "Now I know more about this than I used to, and I'm better prepared to deal with it". Go figger. He's sound asleep right now and will probably sleep till morning after staying up 29 hours. It's good to have him back home; I missed him.

Good morning everyone.

Man what a night. Was doing a nose gear integrity check and it kicked my butt. Found a switch bad, found a cannon plug bad, had three coneheads trying to get it right. Then it was in and out of the E&E compartment, up and down the stairs, up into the wheel well. I'm wacked. But I'm off for the next four so I'm not even worried about it.

Allan here's a tip. When you're talking with your travel agent or looking things up online, don't ask for a direct flight. You want a non-stop. A direct flight is one that stops someplace, but the second leg has the same flight number. Sure there's less of a chance you'll be stranded, but things gotta break sometime. With a non-stop the next time you land you're where you want to be.

Well I'm gonna crawl into bed for a couple hours. Don't know what the rain is going to do but if it stays away I'll start the mowing process when I get up. Wish I had a Labor Day picnic to go to.

Labor Day Luna day to everyone, especially John.

Looking like it's going to be a good one here and there's 2 good football games on the tube.

Mike, thanks for that tip. I was under the mistaken impression that direct meant non stop. This should help a lot. I notice that most carriers don't have non stop from here to Mexico unless it's a charter like Sunwing.

Dan, enjoy the car show!

Jim, ya get yer taters dug? How much is a bushel BTW?

Holy moly I just googled it and found this

Good morning everyone.

I trust we all had a pleasant holiday weekend. Maybe it's just me but it doesn't seem like Labor Day is a big deal anymore. Growing up it was because we started school the day after. I don't know if anyone does that anymore.

Headed up to the mountains to see John today. Gonna hit the Awful house real quick to say happy birthday to a friend of mine, then it's into God's country.

So Jamesbo a bushel and a peck is five pecks? My Grandmother used to sing a song about that.

Okay Happy Tuesday to everyone. Shortened week, hope it's a good one.

De Labor Day weekend seems to be showing the after effects. Morning everyone.

So schools back in up here today. Munchkins wandering around aimlessly. Some excited, some crying an want der mommies, others just another day at the office. Good luck to all of them. Some of them will be tomorrow's leaders, others will simply be educated beyond the level of their intellect. Synical SOB this morning aren't i?

Jim, who can resist Doris? She was so sweet and easy on the eyes.

Clint, welcome back. Looking forward to pics of the new TH. Did you and your Dad camp out in it on the way home? Don't fall asleep under a car.....

Mike, Hope your friend has a happy BD. Please say happy Tiu's day to John. Enjoy your trip to the mountains

Sandy, you're pretty quiet lately. Hope you are doing ok.

Good thing it's a short work week huh?

Afternoon all!

Still yucky humid here. Had rain earlier. I spent this weekend mostly cleaning and doing things I won't be able to do for a while. Went to the riverfront last evening. Had a drink with Nick and Don and Pam and I walked around. Lots of cars!

Guess Jr came over and Larry grilled. Hes still not talking to me. Just what I need before major surgery. ***!!! Im at the body shop now visiting with Bob. Hes so sweet!

The clinic called. I have to be there at 6 am. Not looking forward to it.

So much more I have to do today.... Gotta clean Teepo up and cover her.

Nicole and Jon made it to Senoia. Met zombie Mike and had a great time! Guess it just cost more to rent a car when you're under 25.

Well I'm going to go.... will stay in touch soon as I'm able to move my arms, lol. Start those prayers and keep them coming!!! I love you guys!!!!! Have a great evening!

Good morning everyone.

Well I'm guessing Sandy's procedure is well under way right about now. It would be nice if someone logged in and gave us an update.

Had a great time with John & Co. yesterday. We didn't go for mountain pizza but we did drive past it. As far as I'm concerned, bad pizza is good pizza, but it would really take a lot to over take Aurelio's. Now, if there was a Giordano's here...

I don't know who Claudine Longet is.

Clint that is quite a trailer. I wanted to make my own toy hauler out of a 28ft trailer once, but installing/routing the tanks and plumbing seemed like a daunting task.

Awful house and errands this morning, then oil change for the Deuce this afternoon. I've only been going to do this for about a year. My only concern now is what to do with the five gallons of old oil I drain out.

So happy humpy everyone.

Morning everyone. Woden John love to know what day it is?

Mike, take the used oil to a recycle or a quick lube. Should be a free drop off. I guess the real trick is having a large enough catch pan underneath when it comes out. Maybe drive it out to Colorado and have Clint do it. BTW, I started getting curious about yer screen name. How'd you come up with that?

Jim, mebbee fer John but Mike iz on quite a bit zo I.tink it will still bethesame page. Blue jays are making their appearance and rippin the acorns offa my oak tree. Dang they're noisy birds.

Clint, no wonder you're bagged. Very nice TH. Hope it works out the way you want it. How'd your dad weather the trip?

Got my team registered for the new curling season. 2 new players to break I so unlikely we'll make playoffs unless they gel really fast.

Slantflat-
5 gallons of oil from anything will overfill any DIY oil change drain pan that I've ever seen. And Allan is right, anyone doing oil changes will accept your waste oil for nc.

I'll add another prayer to those being sent out to Sandy.

Allan I came up with my screen name after working on a Valiant and a Corvair.

Don't worry I don't mind being teased. I have pity for people who are pizza-challenged.

Got my errands done and now I'm ready to get to work. In my experience, the auto parts stores' standard answer is the bowser is full, and a business won't let you dump oil there because you aren't patronizing them. Wouldn't hurt to ask. If I had a centrifuge I could put it right back into the fuel tank.

Beautiful out. Chance of rain later, I don't know why they say that, it always rains. They should just say, rain later.

Man that oil change kicked my butt. I thought I had gathered the correct tools and everything I needed. I was wrong. Took me all afternoon and then it rained before I could get cleaned up. Sheesh. Well it's done now and I'm good for awhile.

Jamesbo that's quite a story that goes with that gal. How'd you do at the dentist? I myself am an anti-dentite.

Gonna relax now. Perfect time to sit in the hot tub. If I had one. Have a good evening everyone. Hope Sandy did okay.

Spent most of the day upsidedown yesterday in a t-bucket. It have a custom wiring harness by Cut and Splice Industries. Holy moley that was/is in bad shape. but it now has taillights and turn signals. Left me with a nasty headache last night and a stiff back this morning.

Have a Thorsday all.

Clint.. back in the day among the list of my previous cars you will find a 1976 Buick skyhawk. It looked alot like that Monza. Mine was gold. it was manual trans with the 231 V6 .. it was a fun little car until I took it in for an alignment and the guy pointed out a crack in the sub frame by the a frame and declined to align it.. I quickly dumped the car. that was one of my funner cars I had as a younger driver
