Hot wit on and off showers

Sandy, Larry looks like a nice well fed fellow. Since he likes graduation parties so much, I'll let him take my place at de next one I'm forced to go to.

The kid is nice enough an so is his mom [who went to schoool wit de Super Model] But his dad is a real slime ball. He's one of dem religious nut cases dat knocks on your door all de time, den spends de rest of his days screw'in his subs and lining his pockets. Goes bankrupt ever utter day but sum how finds de $$ to be driv'in a new Lincon Pick up.

Did I say I didn't care for the guy.

Mike, I'm gonna call on dat Jimmy today after I get off de golf course. Unfortunately, I have no Idear how in de world I'd get it to Gawga even if I bought it.

I'm begin'in to like your way of look'in fer cars. Kinda like dat'in girls " If it ain't on de menu, dares allway anutter cafe."

Howdy doody, Oldsmofolks....

Warm & muggy in the swamp. A/C was needed in the house for the first time at 4:15 a.m.; no need for sun to shine to get heat this morning.
Jamesbo, sorry about the raisin bread. You need one of dem bread-sensing reverse cameras.

Whelpt, my POS $100 no-name Chinese oilless air compressor went TU yesterday. Pumped up to about 60 psi and just spun & spun after that. Motor's fine; sounds like cylinder ain't pumpin'.

So now I have no excuse but to get my monster Quincy on line; I bought it almost a year ago on sale, thinking I'd have time to route the lines and get a real air-delivery setup installed in the garage; but of course, that hasn't happened yet. I need to see what effect that delay is going to have on the warranty. I don't think it starts until I start it up, but I need to find out to be sure.

Will be nice to able to run a compressor without causing instant deafness without earplugs. I've heard some loud compressors in my day, but dat little POS took da' cake.

Nice pic's, Sandy! Congrats again. (Linked pic's are small again.)

Good luck w/ the car hunt, Mike.

Well, let me get started at the salt mine. Have a great Monday, Oldsmofolks.

Morning All!

Nice and cool here today. Temps in the 50's only getting up to the 60's today. Hot in here of course.....

Quiet in here. Gonna be a long day. We got a nice surprise Friday..... a 3% cost of living increase in our paychecks. That was nice. Not a whole lot of money, but it helps. This is a great company to work for.

John..... I don't know how to make the pics bigger Wish I did. On the old photobucket they always showed up big.

Thank God the AC just kicked on in here! I can breathe!! It's only 76 in here, I'm sure Steve's heater will be on soon, no doubt.

I sure hope Nicole does some job hunting today. She copied her diploma and honors certificate last night to attach to her resume.

Her and I went over on Saturday to Legacy Village in Beechwood to the Apple store. I got her a new Ipod for an early birthday present. She dropped her old one way too many times through the years. The screen was soooo cracked on it you couldn't even see the face anymore, lol. Then we went to the Beechwood Mall and walked around. Those places are for the ones who make wayyyyy more money than I do! But it was nice going to places I've never been. We had a nice time for a few hours just enjoying.

Jamesbo..... yeah, Larry is definately "well fed", lol. He's put on soooo much weight since I first met him. But all those years of beer drinking, and since he quit smoking (that's his excuse) he constantly is eating. He loves ice cream, pop, and anything sugary! And it shows, lol. Plus all the red meat he fixes and potatoes.... starch and carbs. Not good! He is a good cook......

Well you all have a great Monday!!

Morning all.

Paul, no, sorry, I didn't get any more of the impala.

Woke up on the wrong side this morning. But at 3:13a.m. I'm not sure there is a right side.

John, I've had a Big Red compressor here in the shop since before I bought the place. I guess its 25+ years old. and hasn't needed a thing. But it was a bit more than $100.

Sandy, Glad she's out. Tor has her first day of 'higher education' today. 2 classes, one semester, $900 plus books at a community college. Mercy!

Neat pic's of the old shops 69. I have to go one every day.

Well, Need to go give my petunias a drink. Have a great week all.

Great pics Dan Thanks for sharing them.

Congrats to Nicole for one heck of an accomplishment

I had to change an air blend door actuator in my wife's car this weekend. Come to find out the dang thing has four of them At $40 a pop you would think they sell the gear that always goes out, but no such luck Well at least I couldn't find a place that sold just the gear

Well I hope everyone has as good of Monday as one can expect I've got to run to town and find an anniversary gift for my better half

Those are cool pic's, Dan! Thanks for posting.

Clint, I've always heard good things about the Big Reds.
My made-in-USA Campbel-Hausfeld I bought in '79 (from J.C.Penney, when they were selling tools and competing with Sears) was going strong when it became waterborne during Katrina. I had replaced the reed valves once and put new Mobil 1 in it every year ;-). It was undersized for running my blasting box, but I'd just give it a rest every 5-10 minutes.

I pretty much restored my whole GS using that thing, and it was 17 years old when I first started tearing the car down in '96. The old Gould motor was fabulous. I'm hoping to live long enough to get similar service from my new Quincy. Maybe will have to get another GS to give it something to do . (Odds are looking slimmer & slimmer.) Wiffey goes part-time beginning next week. She's a little paranoid about our dwindling income stream, and "retirement" in general.

Hi everybody.

Having rain off and on today. Sun's out now, but I can see storm clouds off in the distance.

Work was not bad last night. We changed an engine on a 757. Got the new one up but dayshift got to run it since we were delayed changing a fire seal in the pylon. That's fine with me.

John I always said I wanted compressed air running through my house. I don't know what I'd do with it, that's just one of those things I thought would be cool to have. The little dab of sealer in my C-H came out of where the pipe goes into the tank, and the motor would run and run and pump the air right out and not into the tank. I couldn't see buying a new compressor when everything otherwise worked, so I took the connection apart and fixed it with a compression fitting. Works great now.

Don't know if the gutter people are showing up today, so I guess I'll just find something to do and if they show up they show up. I wouldn't mind if the rain went away. Have a good day everyone.

Jamesbo, that was a shame, I don't recall too much from then from the national scene, as I was 5 or 6 at the time, though I remember JFK's death as it came over the intercom when I was in the second grade and the teacher started crying.

Got a clean bill of health from the heart doc. Took longer driving over there than it did getting the exam. Just listened to my heart for a minute, asked me if there were any changes in my general health and that was about it! Scheduled for next June, lol. Hopefully I won't have to see him between now and then.

Brian turned off my fan while I was gone.... no surprise there. It's back on now.

It's sunny but cool outside. Only at 62 degrees. It was chilly at lunch time. I put on capri's to walk, lol. Supposed to get down to 41 tonight. I sure hope we get hot and stay hot eventually. Maybe get a 20 day summer this year.......

Weather is looking good for the BOP show this Sunday!!!

Hey everyone.

Got my gutters on, they were here right at 3pm and took less than two hours. They look terrific along with the new roof.

Went to Summit tonight. It was truck and Jeep night and there was a 50s Dodge dually there that was about 10 feet tall. Okay maybe not that tall, but it was one big mamma jamma. One Oldsmobile, about an 86 Custom Cruiser. An electric Chevy Luv. Last cruise in I can go to for awhile, since I have to work weekends(and Mondays) all summer.

Sandy glad everything checked out at the doctor.

Jamesbo I looked up that plane crash. Worst one on record at the time. Are you saying your neighbor at the time was on the plane or your neighbor you have now was on the plane? If so she'd be a retired flight attendant.

Well I might be headed to Tybee Island tomorrow to meet up with my brother and his family. They are vacationing down there. I haven't seen them in probably a couple years.

Time for bed. After sleeping two hours and getting a call to help out a buddy of mine, I stayed up for the roofers and now I'm beat. Have a good night everyone and hey Monday is over, the pressure is off.

Mornin all.

Couldn't sleep, been up since 2"30 with the wife. Got a bunch of laundry done. Had new springs put on the garage last night. I have a little adjusting to do on the door. I have a small gap on the top corner in the south side. That makes a quick screech when you first hit the button.

Sandy, Great news about the ticker. The missus got her stitches out and a new cast yesterday. They say its healing well. She has about 4 more weeks in a cast then in a splint for 2 more after that.

Some funny noises in the hood this morning. Sounds like a group of coons are riled up a couple doors down. And even though its pitch black, the birds are singing up a storm. The rooster down the street has been going since about 3. That'll make the neighbor grumpy. Oh well, Least its not my mules waking him up.

Kids first day of higher education was yesterday. Math had her in tears again. She has such a hard time with that. Hope she figures a way to understand it.

Mike have a safe trip and say hi to Tattoo for me.

Have a day all.

Mawn'in all

Anutter nice day.

I spoke wit de guy wit de Jimmy. It's sound like a pretty nice truck. I think it's time fer me to go sit in a corner and wait for my desires to go away. I have this mental image of a friend of mines when it was new. Dark green with tan canvas top and tan interior. By the time I got a used one restored to look like my friends, I'd have 30 K in it.

Mike, My neigbors then were in the crash. Actually, I know/knew a few of the familes children who became orphans.

Enjoy Tybee, I got a good friend in Savanah whose real sick. I gotta go down there soon beofre he leaves us.

Sandy, Congrats on de clean bill of health.

John, My Craftsman compressor is like a Timex watch. "Takes a lick'in but keeps on tick'in"

Have a great day Olds friends

Buenos dias, senores y senora

And a good morning to everyone else, too

Dan, I was in the second grade in Nov. of '63 when that announcement was made as well. The cafeteria lady (Mrs. "Dot" Cefalu) was listening on her radio downstairs and coming up to relay the news to all the classrooms as she heard it. I remember her and my second grade teacher (Mrs. Marguerite Haydel) crying. Mrs. Haydel, to my chagrin, was our across-the-street neighbor.

Jamesbo, I definitely have to adopt your technique of corner-sitting. I know I really shouldn't buy another car this fall, but I torture myself with it every day. I keep thinking of a gorgeous '72 GS Stage 1 coupe w/ auto & console and N-25 bumper exhaust cutouts and I get weak in the knees . Oh, and thank you, John Cameron Swayze.

I saw where Deacon Jones passed away yesterday. He was the sole survivor of the "Fearsome Foursome" of the 1960s L.A. Rams (other three were Merlin Olsen, Rosie Grier, and Lamar Lundy). What a sports and cultural phenomenon they were; they really helped make the NFL what it is today. I have no idea where he got it, but my late Uncle Joe had a crazy expression "Save the bones for Deason Jones" he used fairly frequently. (I have absolutely no idea of what he was talking about .

Sandy, congrats on the clean B.O.H.!

Well, y'all have a great Tuesday. Had a brief shower on the way in; but warm and muggy otherwise. Car outside thermo said 95 on I-10 on way home yesterday afternoon.

John, I saw the "Sackmaster" on Bourbon St during Super Bowl 10 and spoke to him. Nice guy.

I now have several corners to sit in. I have an Amphicar corner, a 69 442 W-30 drop top corner, and Ferrari 330 GTS i corner and how a soft top Jimmy corner. I may be runn'in outa corners.

My grand pa wasn't a car nut, but he used to say, "De good Lord only gonna let you have 1 good horse, 1 good wife and 1 good bird dog."

I guess, Since I hate horses, to jes except sum facts of life.

Make dat Super Bowl IX cause X was in Miami

Morning All!

A beautiful morning here! Sun, blue skies and a cool 55 degrees. It's a miserable 76 in here. Steve has his heater blasting away in his office..... I turned on the fan the minute I came in here..... really????? Something wrong with him..... Thank God he's off starting tomorrow for the rest of the week. Going to be out making sales calls. Brian will be whining....

Went home last night and cleaned Teepo some. I need to get out the chrome polish and do a good job on the bumpers. I should wax her too. I haven't so far this season. Poor old girl. Chickipoo with Teepo's clone will be in my class at the BOP on Sunday......

Larry bought more fence sections at Home Depot yesterday and went out and put around the garden. He had his level out there making sure things were all lined up so nice. Until the ground shifts...... It looks pretty.

When I got home last night, those stupid friggin blackbirds had 2 of the 3 suet blocks I put out Sunday night, gone! The 3rd one was almost wiped out. The poor woodpeckers (who I put it out for) were sitting on the tree trying to get a little bite here and there. When the pileated pecker comes back, there won't be any suet for it. I hate those blackbirds... Suet is expensive anymore. Used to get them 2 blocks for 99 cents. Not anymore..

Clint.... sorry to hear aout the math problem. Nicole was the same way. She struggled with math all through school. I took her to Sylvan Learning Center one summer for tutoring. That was a waste of thousands of $$$, lol. She just never got it. I feel for your daughter. Glad your wife's arm is healing!

Mike..... bet your place looks like new now! New roofs always look so nice.

Paul... glad you dropped by, lol.

Jamesbo... there's blooms on the maters!

Have a good day all!!

Ain't said nuttin' 'bout cars

As for me, in all honesty, I ain't gettin' no more cars. If all things go as planned, I'm gonna' sell the Camry in October -- whilst I can still get a few grand for it with 200,000 miles . Daria has her Fusion, but since she won't be using it every day, it'll be "our" sedan. I can use the F-150 if I need to get somewhere and she's using the Fusion. And God knows I don't need another classic to make more work for myself. I'll just have to make friends with my corner (maybe I could write a book about it??).

Clint, glad the better half's arm is healing up. My poor brother had his third surgery in about 4 months a couple weeks ago. This one was the result of a somewhat botched hernia surgery. Should be OK, but he's still in misery. He's having to wear baggy athletic trousers to work and can't lift anything heavier than a pound or two for another few weeks. Thank God he works with his older brother . Second operation a couple months ago was for a skin cancer on his forehead that wound up extending to the middle of his pate:
Poor guy hasn't had much luck lately.

Good evening all.

What a day. Got up early and hit the Awful house. Went and had the tires rotated on the Saturn, went to the credit union, came home and did laundry, went to the credit union again(the person I went to see before wasn't there) went to Lowes to get fence post, came home and found out I had no power at the outlet in the back yard. Troubleshot until it got dark.

Going to see my brother tomorrow. They were staying at some swamp the past couple days catching sharks and chasing alligators. Now they are on the beach in Tybee. I haven't seen his family in quite awhile, I'm sure I won't even recognize my nephews.

Clint I'm glad your wife's arm is healing up. Any word on the artwork, can it be touched up?

Ah Bryan, super glue at work. We used to put super glue in the locks of people's lockers when they caused problems. That always seemed to cure whatever ailed them.

John when I was a kid most of my teachers lived in the same neighborhood as me, went to the same church as me, and were friends with my Mother. Needless to say I couldn't get away with anything growing up without the phone lines burning up before I got home.

You guys need to get out of the corners. Jamesbo you can build a garage for everything at the cemetery. And they are writeoffs, you need them for cemetery duty. John unless you're 100, never say never. There's no fun in that.

Sandy the place looks so different. I think I've decided on a sage-type green for the house, so this summer I'll have to replace some siding and trim and get to painting.

I think I'll turn in early. Big day of driving tomorrow. Hope everyone is getting along good and has a good hump day.

Morning all.

Mike. Not sure yet. I'm sure there will be something they can do. But we'll have to wait and see how well the scar heals.

John, thats some tough luck for your Brother. Sorry to hear. Hope he heals up right this time. I'm waiting for some cancer to show up on my head. Its been burned soo many times. Even when I had enough hair, it was so fine and I'm such a toehead, that there still wasn't much protection.

Jamesbo, LMK if you need me to go find something terribly wrong with de Jimmy. Did he say how much bodywork he had done already? Found it a little odd the right rocker panel had rot, and the left didn't show any signs.

Sandy, Where do you work? I know it has to do with steel.

Well, my little adjustment on the garage door, didn't go so well. T'was my first time, and I think its one of those things that if you believe you need to adjust one side down, you really need to adjust the other side up. Anywho, I had that thing so outa whack, i musta got flustered and didn't tighten one pulley enough, then when I loosened the other pulley and thried to wiggle the door over, wham bam thank you ma'am, the thing jerked and banged and all the preload came out of the springs. So after a complete reset, I got it where it needs to be. Just took so long, that by the time I was done, it was bed time.

Gonna be cool and wet today. high of 64*. The lawn will be happy.
Have a great humpday all.

Nice but we're fix'in [directly] to get wet [right after de cow visits scot]

Well, De old adage [dat may be a little redundant cause all adages are ole]
"Never do today what you can put off til tomorrow " has finally caught up on me.

Werked all day in de cemetery and de garden and jumped in de burban to here a heater hose hiss'in.

Dat means we got 1 broke 442 drop top,, 1 broke Burban, and de starter is dragg'in on de 4x4 Cheby truck. De Vista is in de mountains.

De good news is I can stay at home an eat til I founder on squash.

I guess I could always dirve de Masey Ferguson to de Liquor store if push came to shove. If de battery isn't dead.

I found [actually a friend of mine found] de exact same jimmy fer de exact same price. $6500. I think dat's too much [[but what do I know.] He [my friend] said " You'd be better off buying a new one fer less $$$$ and cutting the top off. I'm gonna have to think dat one over a bit.

Scot, Ya ever see anyone do dat?

Well GTG werk on sum'in before I start walk'in

Have a great day Olds friends.

Happity Humpity

Clint, I'll pass the condolences on to the bro'. Thanks! I hope yours doesn't escalate. I abused the sun as a kid and I have been paying the price for the last 20-some-odd years. I go to the derm every 6 months and he has his fun w/ the nitrogen , and I've had 4 or 5 relatively minor surgeries, two on my face. But nothing like my brother's, thank goodness.
I hope you're sleeping better....

Mike, I'm not saying never, but I have to be realistic & postpone it for now. It jes ain't da' time. When we sell my parents' house in a year or two, I'll see what's going on. Part of my motivation (or lack thereof) is just the time element needed to play with another GS. I'd like to not have a long laundry list 52 weeks out of the year -- not that I do it all. But just maybe once after I retire I can get caught up (right!). And frankly, I just don't need a new car... I just want one. Love dem new Accords and Avalons.

Jamesbo, yeah, ya' better get some wrenches turnin' a mite quick like.... founderin' on squash ain't no way to go .

And speakin' of founderin', after work I and a couple folks here are headed to Rocky & Carlo's, an old restaurant in Chalmette known for giving you so much food, 2 or 3 can easily eat off one entree. But they have the best fried chicken and baked macaroni known to man... or woman, for that matter. I'll be 5 lbs heavier tomorrow....

Have a great humpity, Oldsmobuddies.

Good morning all.

I'll be headed out in a few minutes. I'm looking forward to seeing my brother and his family.

Dan the car is a little darker than that. I'm gonna have to dig out my 1970 brochure and see if it matches up to anything. By the way, after pulling all my teeth and giving birth, I got my loan approved so I will soon be the owner of a 4 speed convertible. I'm pretty excited actually. There was nothing wrong on my end of the deal, I think the credit union person just felt like being difficult.

John I don't need another car, either. But I always want one! This might be it for awhile, at least the summer. I have a list of things for the house that really need to get done and with the new roof and gutters, I want it all to look nice.

Clint I know what you're saying about abusing the sun. When I was a kid I was outside all summer long. I got freckles and weird spots all over me and I go to the skin doctor a couple times a year to have them looked at. The dr asked me once, do they ever move? I said yes, this one spot here(pointed to my shoulder) used to be on my leg. Do they ever move.

Jamesbo good luck with the repairs. Like Roseanne Roseannadanna used to say, it's always something.

Okay off I go. Have a good one everybody.

Morning All!

Another gorgeous morning out here. Temps in the 50's now, heading towards 77 later on. Should be a nice evening for Chic Fil A. We're supposed to get that rain tomorrow, so I don't know about Bellacinos tomorrow night....

Steve is out the rest of the week.... no heater blasting! It's sooooo nice. Fan is on, hair is pulled back.

I bonded with Teepo until 9:30 last night, lol. Got her tires all clean and shined up. Cleaned the white lettering. Looks better! So much friggin pollen still everywhere on her. Wiped down her top with vinyl stuff. I need to sweep her out, and sweep the trunk.

Nicole said she went to a few places yesterday and handed out resumes and copies of her diploma's. I sure hope she did.

Clint.... I work for American Alloy Steel. Corporate is in Houston TX. We have a lot of facilities all over the place. It's a great company to work for. The owner treats us very well. We are a sales office here in Twinsburg for the Cleveland area. The 3 guys handle different parts of different states. They do a great job of selling. They sold $40 million out of here last year, inside and outside sales. Not bad for a place with no shop or inventory, lol.

I'm a bad one for being in the sun with no sun screen. One of these days...... I have sun spots or age spots here and there and lots of moles/freckles anymore. I should go to a dermotologist every year and get checked.

Jamesbo... you ain't a havin very good auto luck these days, are ya? Hope you get everything fixed, lol.

Mike.... have fun!!

Well you all have a good hump day!!

I had a similiar experience with a garage door .... Years ago , my moms garage door chain came off , and I thought you could just put it back on and all would be good . Well , after I hit the button it closed , and wanted to keep closing until it ripped the whole thing off the rafters ! I ended up spending the next few hours or so pounding new wood on the garage so I could re-mount it .

Good Humpday All

No rain yet but it is that time of year when pop up storms appear in the evening.

Jamesbo sounds like you need a maintenance plan or a maintenance man I have seen lots of different cars made into droptops that weren't born that way. As a matter of fact just yesterday I passed a minivan that thought it was a jeep It had no top and no doors

Clint that looks like one stubborn mule I've always wanted to have a guard mule or donkey out at my shop, but I am leery of how much maintenance they may need

Mike have fun and a safe trip down to Tybee. We stopped going there awhile back and started going to Hilton Head or St Simmons because the beaches are much cleaner and the cops don't target the tourists as much.
