G'day mates!

Did ya get your kangaroo tied down, Blue??

We had a wonderful visit with Adrian and his family!! They are really nice people! He is just the nicest guy! Tink, his wife is pleasant and friendly, and his daughter is just a doll, lol! I could have kept her. Their accents are sooooo cool, lol! I could listen to them talk for hours! Just a lovely family, and I appreciate it so much that they took time to come and see us.

I think we kept them here longer than they planned - they are heading for Lansing now. Going to the Olds museum tomorrow. They got here a little after 9 this morning, and we had a real nice visit. Nicole put a movie in and she and Minn watched it. Showed off Teepo of course! He liked her!!

Then we headed out to Blue's a little after 11. It was nice to see them again! Got to look at the cars - he had the Vista out and the GTO down from the lift so we could see it too. Stood there talking awhile and freezing, lol. It was 47 today, but a very cold wind blowing. Ended up going to Bob Evans to eat - had good meals and talked some more. Took some pics in the parking lot, and we said our goodbyes and headed home.

It's so cool to meet someone else off of the forum here, especially one from another country, lol! I hope I can meet more of you one day!

It was just a great day, getting together with old friends and new friends, and I really enjoyed it!!

Blue..... I think I saw your kangaroo go hopping by here.......

Evening all, as Blue and Sandy have already said, The official first annual Classic Oldsmobile.com International Convention was a rousing success We all had a great time meeting one another and having a good chat, we should have flown a couple more members in

We made it to Lansing at 7:30 so that's not too bad. Still plenty of time to rest and get ready for our museum visit tomorrow. It worked out well today Sandy, time wise. We were able to have a good chat without having to rush, like I said as long as we make Lansing tonight at some point it's all good

I will send you a pm after this Sandy with my email so we can exchange some of the photos we took today. I will also send one to you Jamesbo so I can send you a copy of the photo we took when we had our lunch.

Time for me to have a kip, I ended up driving the whole way to Lansing from Twinsburg. After the pm's

Take care all,

Adrian

Jamesbo I tried to send you that pm but the interdnet crapped out on me so I'm not sure it went through

Did you get that kangaroo tied down Blue? Back home I can get kangaroo meat for my dogs, can even get it for oneself if'n your that way inclined. I'm not

Looks like everyone had a great time. Was it a little cold outside for the picture?

It is always great to meet people in person that you know online.

Adrian, have fun at the R E Olds museum, tomorrow. It is a good museum with interesting displays.

I know I am up late , but that seems to be an all to familiar happening with me lately. I have to wait until the exhaustion overcomes the pain and then maybe sleep. sorry I have not been keeping up with y'all lately but it is hard to focus on a computer when your head wants to explode. mornings and nights are about the same....well maybe the nights are worse lately. I have been trying to do chores around the house plus some stuff for folks wanting compost and stuff for their gardens. And I have been power washing the house , but it's slow going. The cedar siding has gotten quite dark but I found it could be blasted off as long as you get close. Looks good as new under the dried exterior. damn near blew myself right off the ladder a couple of times forgetting the high pressure. Well it's half done so no going back now. I am going to have to stain it with a mix of semi transparent cedar stain and boiled linseed oil. Doc tells me it is good to get out and do stuff , wish he was the one that hurt afterward though.
I have to take the carb off the car and take it to the fellow who rebuilt it cause I think he frigged up the clip on the needle that lets fuel into the carb. I just fixed the fuel line as it was leaking. I don't know if I will get any driving in this year. probably not much but nice to have it running good should I need to get away for a bit.

Morning All!

Wolfie! Glad to hear from you - I was getting worried!! Sorry you're still in so much pain. Maybe you should slow down some......

It's sunny this morning here, heavy frost overnight. Right at 32 degrees now. Supposed to get into the 40s - 50s and rain later, storms tomorrow. It looks like a pretty stormy week coming up, but temps in the 50's.

I have to go up and take Lin shopping today. So I'll be gone most of the day. It's a tiring job. I guess I better get movin - Have a great day all!!

Just had a call from Ken, one of my best friends.-- His wife of 65 years, broke her hip and fell in the road last week. Doctor fixed her hip and she never left hospital. After a week she wouldn't eat and they put her in hospice. They called him this morning to tell him that she passed this morning at 4:30am. Betty would have been 91 on May 5th. I knew her for 44 years. Back in the day Betty was a wonderful ballroom dancer. When Ken met her, she was an Arthur Murray instructor. This past year she had been sort of out of it.

Sad day here in the hills today------

Don,
Sorry for the loss of your friend's wife.

With rue my heart is laden
For golden friends I had,
For many a rose-lipt maiden
And many a lightfoot lad.

By brooks too broad for leaping
The lightfoot boys are laid;
The rose-lipt girls are sleeping
In fields where roses fade.

Don,

I don't know where you friend lives, but if I can help in any way, just give me a PM. It's a very confusing time for everyone.

Morning All!

A very windy and cloudy day here - high wind warnings out until 6 pm. We could get strong storms, tornadoes were mentioned this morning!! Boy it's dark as night out there now. I don't like it!! But it is a wonderful 62 degrees - breeze is warm right now. I love Southwest winds!! Unfortunately it's going down to 33 tonight and wintry mix crap coming. The tin can was blowin around on the road this morning.

Crap... it's thundering now!!

I was telling the guys here about Adrian's visit! I sure enjoyed them, lol!

Jamesbo..... Did your mama ever tell you "don't judge a book by it's cover" or "Looks can be deceiving"? Seriously, Larry is a nice guy, don't get me wrong! I wouldn't have married him if he wasn't. He is polite and friendly, especially when you just meet him. He's not an ogre all the time, lol. Pretty scary when he's shi*faced drunk and screaming in your face!! Or not in your face. And after that happens a few dozen times, it tends to wear on ya. Don't talk about politics or "worthless" kids and all will be well. He's never wrong. Never. Two sides to everyone........ He's been much better since he hasn't been drinking. He only said 2 snide hurtful things to Nicole on the way to Blue's, and 1 at Bob Evans. That wasn't bad. He really doesn't like her. Nuff said. You'll meet him one day, and it will be good!!

Well the rain is pouring out here now. Glad it isn't snow, lol. Gas shot up to $3.79/gal. yesterday afternoon!!!! I found some in the Boro for $3.53 when I came home last night from taking Lin shopping, so I pumped in $40 bucks, but that was the only station that wasn't at $3.79 yet.

I just showed Clay the pics that we took out at Blue's. He's liking Blue's GTO, lol!

Well have a nice day all!!

Thanks for 'splainin "kip" - I was wondering too, lol! Adrian.... how was the museum??

Sandy tell Nicole if she isn't good you will ship her to my place lol, but don't tell her it's my place just say half way around the world hehehe. That should scare her into not losing that job of hers. Larry was a nice guy from what I saw, he was quite proud of his shed and I would have been too

Jamesbo I just had to do this verification thing so you can get that pic I sent you, never came across that before

The Museum was awesome. There were heaps of very cool cars there. I will post some pics when I upload them from the camera. I bought a Oldsmobile baseball shirt while I was there. I wanted a baseball shirt but couldn't decide what team to get as I don't really have one, then I saw the one at the museum and I was sold Oldsmobile is my team

I'm freezing and Laura made her Jabba the Hutt face in the pic.
Mmmmm...ugh-Oldsmobileum-ooka-tictoctach...Han.

I told her too, I'll be entombed in Carbonite before the day is over.

Wish somebody would give me a fine car as a gift and build me a fine barn to keep it in, and cook dinner for me too!
What more could you want?
I would of married Larry if he would of taken me, do you think he would of let me drive the big tractor?

Adrian, just wondering if Aussies use the Brit phrase "knock you up". I was in England for a couple years in the USAF so I know most of the slang. No guys, it doesn't mean what you think.

Blue.... you just make me laugh, lol!! Laura did not make a Jabba the Hutt face, lol. I think it's a very nice pic. It was great to see you guys again too!!

You know, getting things as gifts is a wonderful thing, but they shouldn't be thrown back in your face, and no ones child should ever be told they "are a guest in the house". And I don't care how much you don't like them. When your child wrecks a car in another state and you are soooo stressed and worried and scared because you don't know what's going on and you need some support, it should be there, instead of an "I told you". As for work ethic, providing for a family, doing things around the house etc... you'll never hear me say that doesn't happen. It's just the humanity/compassion that is lacking. He never had much of it growing up. Like you said to me once, "what does Larry do for fun, work"?? Pretty much. He doesn't believe in having fun. Just how he is, how he was raised. He gets very mad when he hears kids talking about having fun. It's sad. But according to people that knew him before I did, he has mellowed waaayy out since he met me, so that's a good thing. He can be a great guy. Off the soap box now, lol!!

Adrian..... glad you enjoyed the museum!! I think Team Olds is the best, lol. Nicole would love to go to Australia now, lol! She really liked you all and enjoyed talking to Tink about schooling and such. She's a good kid... just a teenager right now.

We got a bit of good news here at work today. We're all getting a 3% cost of living increase! That will help offset the medical insurance that we just got increased the first of March, lol! It's great that the company is doing so well though!
