Watching women's freestyle. Those have to be extraordinarily tough. I always hope no one over rotates cause that could be painful.

One thing which is quite different (to me) is the advent of using drones for viewing/footage/coverage - amazing.

Great! We have the Peacock App (and many others, Hulu, Netflix, Prime, etc,) on our Firestick and it works great! 👍

OK. FireStick is now streaming Peacock - watching Hoe Hockey.

At least I can tune in what I want to watch at anytime, not a bad price point for what I get, I guess. Let the games begin - well, I guess they already began. I watched the Opening Ceremony (for free) cause NBC (which owns Peacock) provided a 15' free streaming during the Opening Ceremony.

Dan - How you feeling? This is your 2nd SARS-CoV-2 infection I think you said.
Yes, second go around. Dragging butt, like I have a head cold that I can't shake. Went out and blew out the driveway, and said, well that's it. Greg and Jim, have a good trip. Greg, a bit of a temperature change on your travels. Should be pretty cool to visit.

Hi everyone.

Boy take a day off and miss tons! I was actually busy all day with chores and that meeting. Then watched three hours of House Hunters until 10 so we could watch some inane show that Mom likes. Thankfully I usually sleep through most of it.

Greg I don't remember you mentioning Africa before. That will be some trip. Prayers for your friends. There ain't no guarantees in life that's for sure.

So the shipper guy picked up the car last night at 9, not tonight. So it should be here Monday which is great, I won't have to take off time from work to meet him. I used the people Jaunty used to ship his Toronado's to Michigan. If the car gets here safely I'll be happy, but so far am not enamored with the company.

The meeting went well today, nothing earth shattering. Just catching everyone up on the latest business. It was nice to see everyone.

Okay Walmart tomorrow and it's supposed to be nice so I'll see about doing some yardwork at Mom's. We're going to Denny's for breakfast before we go shopping. That should be fun.

Okay have a good night. I see it's now past 12 so Happy Sunday.

--Dan, sorry to hear of 2nd covid infection, Yes it will be quite q change in weather. Yeah Mike I may not have mentioned it before. I actually haven't been onboard with it- sorta detached but now that it is actually happening I need to be engaged. Actually a lot of the trip is geared to me cuz I have always talked about the "Mutual of Omaha- Wild Kingdom" shows I watched as a kid- (safari). Then about 10 years ago we saw "Murder on the Nile" movie and I was really interested in seeing the Nile, and of course I have always been fascinated with the Pyramids and Sphinx.
--One weird thing about this trip is we need to fly into NYC LaGuardia airport, then take a taxi or uber/shuttle to Kennedy airport to go on. Luckily we have 4 hours to do it. I am sure the long flights will be hell for this XL sized guy....
-- The older I get the more I realize I am like my Mom in later life- my siblings and I always urged her to go travel but she didn't want to. I shoulda organized a trip and Linda and Mom and I woulda went. She would go I'll bet if we went. Mike, treasure your time with your Ma, as you will miss her when gone. (You are a great son to her)

I know it’s already old news, as I commented several days ago, I don’t get why Lindsey even attempted to perform w/ a completely ruptured ACL. If she tries to blame it on the gate (flag) that’s BS. You don’t temp fate if you’re not 100%.

It began 1967 as I watched the Packers defeat the Chiefs. It’s been a crazy 59 yrs. getting to Superbowl LX. Not sure I’m on-board w/ development of the NFL - nothing more than a business commodity, IMO.

Agree 100%, in that sport with those speeds and conditions the margin for error is so slim, and if you do make a mistake you're going down, let alone trying it with an existing major injury! She shouldn't have tempted fate!

Everyone here knows how big a football fan I am, so many personal and family memories centered on the sport. Eh, this year's Superbowl, I couldn't give a $hit! I don’t like either team and could care less who wins. Agree 100% with your assessment of the NFL Corporation. I'll have it on later . . . to watch the commercials! Sad state of affairs for sure.

Hi guys,

Overcast here but it's supposed to get into the low 50's this afternoon. Supposed to be in the 50's the next 4 or 5-days. The really great news in regard to the weather is that it's supposed to be unusually warm here, and in Michigan, for my trip up there on the 13th - 16th. As much as I want to go up and see Gabe play up there, I had serious worries of making the drive if there was a threat of major snow or ice.

Speaking of Gabe, his game did not go well last night. They got blown out 5-1. He did have his team's only goal. Every League game the 2nd half of this season is a major challenge for him because they're playing all the teams for the 2nd time and the opposing teams are employing special defenses to try and neutralize him. Sometime their efforts work, like last night, and other times he's still been able to dominate.

I made about 130-mile round trip in my old 2000 Ford 4x4 truck to go see Gabe play yesterday because Dawn had our daily driver. That's by far the longest trip I've made in it in several years. Spending the majority of the drive on major highways at 70 or 75mph, I was amazed at how well it still runs and rides! The new tires on it really ride nice! If it wasn't for the gas mileage I'd seriously consider driving it up to Michigan.

Hope everyone has a great day! 😃

Jim - I'm a big fan of shelving in the man-cave, as well. Looks good.

Chris - Glad your Ford truck is running well for you.

Curious what time the Gibbons & Macaques plan to get going tomorrow morning & how many. I plan to be up before dawn to manage/discuss their operational plan. The yard is super saturated w/ water & I'd prefer to make suggestions where/how they plan to maneuver their truck(s) & trailer(s).

Norm - Thanks for the comment on my truck. Good idea for seeing what the crew's plan is! More than once I've seen crews who have absolutely no regard for maintaining the condition/integrity of their customers property.

There are many, many, many venues/genres which make far more sense for a 1/2 time performance. It's the specific intention of the pathetic NFL organization to create controversy. Controversy increases viewership. An increase in viewership increases revenue. As Jim said..."hype for the sake of Hype". It's the National Football League not the International Football League. Revolting/Disgusting.

Hi everyone.

Busy day. Went to Denny's with Mom before we did the shopping. Mom wanted crisp bacon and it kept coming back not crisp enough. First though she got sausage. So I got the sausage and all the non-crisp bacon. About a half a pig's worth. I wonder how much of that was on the floor first. Walmart wasn't that big of a deal today but Mom seemed to take an extra long time, which annoyed me.

I got a new chipper machine at Harbor Fright last week. I bought one a couple years ago and it wore out. I chipped a lot of stuff with it. So I got another one. Fired it up for the first time today and the motor made a crunching noise and started smoking. Back it went. No problems getting it replaced, but I didn't try the new one yet.

Loaded up the blue van with stuff from the carport. I got **** everywhere. I've had a 215 on a stand for several years. The first little while it was in the dog room in the house. But then my sister came over and said Mom would be more comfortable if the engine wasn't in there. So out it goes into the rain. I've had a cover over it and said cover has come off very few times. I tipped it over into the back of the van and no water came out, I'm guessing that's a good thing. It will go in my garage tomorrow.

Greg thanks for saying that. I try to do right by Mom, I've done well growing up, and even still. There were times when I wasn't in a big hurry to help her out or do the right thing, but I always seemed to do more than my brother or my sister. These days my sister bends over backwards to do what she can, and Mom just doesn't appreciate it. They were never really friends. I think Mom is jealous of my sister because she can get out and do stuff and travels and Mom can't, and hasn't. The hasn't part is her own fault but I can see her not wanting to go places by herself.

New car is due tomorrow some time. I would have liked to hear from the driver to see when I can expect it. I got a text that my phone labeled spam from someone who simply said he was from the transport company. Got my name wrong, and wanted me to meet him at a truckstop about 10 miles from my house. Sorry, I paid for door to door not door to truckstop. I wonder how this person(entity?) got my number and knew what kind of a car I was expecting.

Gonna hit the sack. Lots I can do while waiting on the car tomorrow. Like put away the crap I brought over in the van. Good night everyone.

One Macaque arrived @ 7am. He's currently unloading equipment from his truck & taking images of the roof. New roof installation must meet IBHS requirements because they're installing an IBHS Fortified Roof; albeit, installation requires documentation to include images.

It's a balmy 20°F outdoors. The Macaques won't feel the cold once they begin working.

Mike - Hope vehicle delivery goes well for you.

Four more Macaques arrived @ 8am. The original one left. One of them speaks a little English. The foreman, who I haven't seen but I have spoken to, speaks fluent English. He isn't here, yet. Negotiating where the trailer is going is next on the list I suspect. They're covering all the plants/shrubs at the moment.

Norm - During all my Roof and Siding repairs last Spring and Summer there were a couple of days when the Foreman, the only one who could really speak any English, was gone from the site for at least few hours. All I'll say is it was an issue with him being gone and I didn't appreciate it. Hope you have better luck!

Chris - All's good. I understand. Several hierarchical tiers w/ these jobs. The PM was here for ~1 hr, did his stuff & hasn't been back for some time. I'd say the Macaques are ~1/2 done w/ the 'general' tear off. They're moving along quite nicely.

Nice! Hope it warms substantially for you the next few days. We've got sunshine and mid-50's today and it feels like the Bahamas. 😃

Hi everyone.

Beautiful here, almost 60. Got some things to do outside this afternoon.

The car got here this morning. It was a little more stressful than I was thinking. The driver told his dispatcher he couldn't deliver to the house so he wanted to meet me at a truckstop in the city. The dispatcher called me and said that was the only way. I said I paid for door to door not door to truckstop. So the dispatcher says okay I'll just have him drop it at the closest tow yard. I told him if he did that I'd report it stolen. Long story short the guy pulled up in front of the airport and dropped it in the street, and I walked over and drove a half mile to my house.

I wouldn't say the guy misrepresented the car but if I would have gone to look at it in person I wouldn't have bought it. But it's here I'll make the best of it.

Greg I have a feeling that even though you're not excited about going on your trip, when you are there and when you are back you will be glad you went. I feel the same way every year when I get ready for Australia.

Norm good luck with the roof. I know I need a new roof but as long as it isn't leaking I'll let it ride. I keep thinking the roof on the other house(Mom's) is new but it was put on in '14. Sheesh.

Okay better get something done. Hope everyone has a good day.

Mike - I don't get it. That sucks about the shipper service - what a PITA. Payback time if you told them Jaunty used their service?
Thanks for the well wishes on the new roof installation. I have no roof leaks anywhere. I (personally) installed this current roof in 2003. While the materials have a warrantied life expectancy, it's tough getting 30-35 yrs. from a roof which has been through ~15 hurricanes & another dozen tropical storms. It was time for a new roof.

Just returned from topside. The 'general' tear-off is complete. Securing all roofing boards, removing hard-to-get-to drip edge, removing current flashing, vent flashings, etc. There are four swinging dicks on the roof. It's much faster when you have a solid team of four w/ experience - they're doing a good job. I made fresh coffee & they each wanted a fresh coffee. Small stuff like that keeps you in their favor.

Mike - I read your post in the Hauler thread & it got me thinking about sumpin. I wonder if that truck driver has a 'history', of some sort i.e. didn't want to put himself in a position which might draw attention to him & he'd have to provide his license, CDL, logs, etc. should anything happen on a city street? There may even be restrictions placed on a CDL (designated highways, no in-town e.g. city street traffic)? Who knows.
