The new wheels are going to look really sharp on your truck! Will keep my fingers crossed for the fitment.

I still get an incredulous answer when I ask what we're doing for Thanksgiving. At this point I think it will be vegetable soup.

You know Matt there were Oldsmobile trucks. In 1900, 1905, I think up into the 20s but not much further. I wanted to buy a 1919 Oldsmobile fire truck a few years ago. A huge project but it was cool. While I was waiting for the price to come down someone else bought it.

Greg does your rusty truck have a converter on it? That will help it a little. One time my grey van needed exhaust, and I asked the guy if he could just run a straight pipe from the converter all the way back. And turn of course just as God and General Motors intended. It sounded so cool, not loud but a unique rumble that no one could place.

We got out of work about a quarter to 11 this morning. So much for ultra early. We were busy all morning. Had a nice visit at the Awful house and then came home and took a nap. Had a whole list of chores at Mom's that had to be done. Now it's time to relax.

Sometimes I think (there's another person who resides in my head sometimes) I should put a dual set of glass-packs on my '71 CS. BTW, what is the deal with muffler shops these days? I've read (on this site) numerous members stating the muffler shop they went to didn't bend pipes. WTF is that all about? I mean, shouldn't a muffler shop be able to bend pipes? Back in the '60s & '70s every muffler shop I knew of bent their own pipe. You think it has anything to do with EPA/inspections and all that gizmo?

With all the news about how the "Birdflu" has decimated turkey production and driven up the prices, I'm really worried about getting a tainted bird!

Ok Mike , have never seen a tire with that strobe stripe and name ( Seiberling Supreme Sealed-Aire ) before

Mike, yep it has 2 cat converters one for each bank- then goes down and y's together into a big 3" pipe into muffler- that's where it fell off. It is loud but as you said it goes thru the converters and isn't as loud as open manifolds- ahh its a beater.. all good.... HEY Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!!

Morning all, don't forget family today, hug someone's baby, anyone's baby, they are all full of past memories even though they don't know it yet and remember us old farts, we need loving too.
Turkey is just a by product of the family get together, luckly my Mom was a super cook and she spread her legacy throughout the five generations that will be there today so great food will be had. I'm sure her name will come up often today, especially when the pie is served. Make a memory, they are harder to get the older you are... Tedd

Happy Thanksgiving. Chris, that secretary is nice. Glenn, the first tire appears to be local to you, that brand isn't native to the U.S., Coopers were never O.E.M. suppliers to the U.S. car manufacturere's. Made a pumpkin pie to take to my brothers place. Working tomorrow, 3X$, and Sunday, 2x$. well, we'll see if the Lions can get a third win in a row, I doubt it though against the Bills. Old fire trucks are cool. i like the late 20's early 30's versions.

The Bills handed the Packers their *** - Bills are playing well, Packers having a poor season. Sunday night's game I don't look for any surprises.

Dan - Thanks for the nice comment on the Secretary, I'll let my wife know.
That "Sieberling" tire was made in the U.S., that particular one probably in the late 50's to early 60's. Frank Sieberling was one of the original Founders and original Vice-President of Goodyear Tire. When Goodyear restructured, I believe in the mid-20's, Sieberling left Goodyear and started his own company in Akron. Sieberling produced tires into the mid-60's, and were even OEM for various model GM, Chrysler, Ford cars at different times.

I started scrolling up before I remembered that a secretary is also a cabinet. I was like, did I miss a babe? I think I posted my secretary here back in the spring. It has a lot of cabinets and holds my firearms' magazines, some computer parts, and small things like knives and turntable cartridges.

Well, I have alot more to be thankful for than I deserve, but one thing is that Momma sure can cook, she went above and beyond!

Upper Left - Lower Right: Cheesy shredded potatoes; Turkey; stuffing; gravy; homemade yeast rolls; sweet potato casserole; green bean casserole

Ginormous Pumpkin Pie - We were so full after dinner neither one of us could eat any dessert, but we certainly will later!

Turkey carving tool of choice - My wife does the hard part of cooking the meal, but I'm the official bird carver. I will have the last messy chore of the day, carving the rest of the bird and stripping the usable meat off the carcass.

For some reason the sour/sweet taste of cranberries + orange rind slices harvests the essence of holiday meals.

My wife and I are both big Cranberry fans, the juice, the sauce, and Craisins. The best oatmeal cookies I've ever had are her homemade oatmeal/craisin. However, neither one of us are a fan of Orange flavor in sauces. Everyones palate is different.

Dan - You're welcome! In all honesty, I didn't know either until GCH's (Glenn) post the other day and I looked it up. I just hadn't had the time to reply to his post yet. Pretty interesting history though!

Not orange "flavoring", per se. But when you sink your teeth into a piece of orange "rind" it's like a blast of orange "essence".

So, I bought a pint of organic blueberries from Peru at our local Food Lion last week. I am not a fan of Food Lion for anything, honestly. The blueberries lasted one day.

THEY WERE REMARKABLE! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Tomorrow I head back to that store to see if they have more.

Hi everyone.

Happy Thanksgiving. Mom had some chicken she baked and we had stuffing and other stuff and pumpkin pie. Very nice.

Sounds like all you guys had a nice day and a nice time.

Turns out I have too much money. Went downstairs to finish with the laundry and found the septic tank is somehow draining into the wash machine's sump pump and the sump pump is running about every 20 seconds, and also sewage is running onto the floor from an otherwise unknown pipe coming out of the wall. That pipe hasn't done anything for the past 17 years and now it does this. Noticed water in the back yard earlier today, I thought I had run over the garden hose with the tractor. Nope. Guess I'll be looking for a plumber first thing in the morning.

Guess I'll go home and dream about dollar signs. Tiger might need to go on an austerity program...

Have a good evening everyone.

Mike - Holy $hit. I didn’t realize you had a septic tank. When was the last date the tank was serviced &/or drained?

Those are the symptoms of an overfilled septic tank, as in, it's not draining out the other end.

Wow, we transitioned from holiday feast to septic backup faster than Chris/Ralph can make a slice of pumpkin pie disappear.
