Happy Saturday everyone.

Boy this staying till the end every day is for the birds. Same plane as the night before. We got the reversers and the new motor hung, and it's ready to be run up. Dayshift should have it done by noon.

Allan I'm sorry you're under the weather. I hope you feel better soon.

One time when I was at Awful house this woman said her hash browns weren't done right, so my friend Johnboy the server made her some new ones. Well after a little while, and after eating most of the hash browns, she said there was a hair in them and she wasn't going to pay. Johnboy told her if there was a hair in there she put it there and she was going to pay and that was that. I've been in there a couple times when someone left a huge mess and the servers bitch at them for it. It's pretty funny.

Wow Steve you are up late. Or early. Houston is two hours behind Atlanta? That means you stopped at 3am! So did you actually finish the front end job?

Okay I'm hitting the sack also. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Mike, You're probably too young to remember Abbie Hoffman's book "Steal this Book" He suggested carrying a cockroach around in a match box to continuelly eat for free.

Course he also said, "Never trust anyone of 40. [ or was it 35?]

Good Afternoon Mawnin Crew

Allan you okay bud?

I had to take my second oldest daughter to the ER last nite around 11 pm with stomach pains Well after tests everything was normal. The hospital in Perry isn't quite high tech at all, so we denied the CS until Monday when we can get to better facilities. We finally checked out around 4 am

Well yall have a great weekend out there.

It's a barge

Hey folks.... hot as an ashtray in the War Room down here today; supposed to rain this afternoon and evening to usher in the cool front; hope it does.

Thanks for noticing, Mike... yeah, how'd you like to have to straighten that quarter panel? I needed a little update. I might even take the cover off and snap a few more pics this weekend whilst she's clean as a whistle. One drive down the dreaded gravel driveway and the tires get that white powder on them.

Geaux Saints! (with Will Smith, BTW.... Who Dat, Goodell?).

Hey evening everyone.

Not much going on, just getting ready for work.

Scot hope the little girl is okay. What do you think caused the stomach pain?

Nope, don't remember Abbie Hoffman. Sounds like a clever guy.

Got about 5 total drops of rain this afternoon and my girl went nuts. So much for sleeping between 1 and 4 this afternoon. Eh, sleep is overrated. Looks like it might be a nice day tomorrow, so I'll have to stay up when I get home and get something done. Awful house is a Sunday staple, so that will help get the day "started."

John I think the body shop guys would have had to be craftsmen and artisans back in the day. All those curves and creases, holy Toledo.

Allen how you feeling?

Okay off to work. A little quiet in here, probably everyone is out whoopin' it up.

Nice down here, too...

What was yer temp on da' lake, Jim? We actually had 62 on the Plantation, so you must've been well down into the 50s.
I better enjoy it; s'posta be back in 90s later in week.

Scot, hope your little girl is OK... I used to have a lot of stomach cramps when I was a kid; maybe just a part of a lot of kids' maturing, although my eating habits weren't exemplary. (I should have owned Tastee Donuts stock back then.)

Y'all have a great 1st NFL Sunday...

Afternoon all!

Well I couldn't get on here Friday or Saturday night on my laptop - I don't know why. It just wouldn't load in the hotel room. I had a full signal...

We are almost home. Its sunny and cool here. Temps in the 60's. We ran through some heavy rain earlier coming into PA. Larry said it rained at home yesterday most of the day.

Jamesbo... If goats golf bad, then that's how I golfed. I don't understand 'pars and bogies' and all that golf talk. I lost 2 ***** in the water this year. Our team came in 4th. We got poured on after the 15th hole so the guys called it quits. It was really warm and very windy up there most of the day. There were all kinds of storm warnings out for the afternoon, but no real bad weather in that area. It rained for a few hours and was done.

We had burger's for lunch and then had steaks, little buttered taters with the skins on, baked beans, rigatoni, salad and rolls after golfing. Then they brought cookies out...... I only ate a little rigatoni and a couple taters. I wasn't hungry. We had big omelets and taters for breakfast. That's way too much eating for me! I was still full from dinner Friday night, lol.

Then we did the name drawing for the prizes. The WalMart $50 gift cards went first, and they didn't pull my name until like the 8th one or something. So I took a gift card to Applebys for $25. Then I took a picture frame and the last draw, I took the beautiful mum.

Arte we were done with that, Ken wanted to go to that little dumpy Legion bar they took us to last year, but I talked Phil into taking Steve and I to the casino. Phil doesn't gamble so he waited on us. I blew through $70 in no time and called it quits. It was fun though. I didn't like their system.... we had to get cards and then go to a machine and load money on them. Then you use the cards in the slot machines. Ive never seen that before. I don't know if its a NY thing or if all casinos are doing that. I like to put my money in the machines. Anyhow, after we left there we stopped at a little bar and Steve and Phil had a beer and then we went back to the hotel. I took a nice warm shower, tried to get on here and failed, so I watched some TV and went to bed around 10:30. I was tired. Still am. We got up at 5 am. We were on the road at 6:00.

I left about $100 in NY between the casino and the scratch off tickets, lol. I do have a $25 winning ticket I have to mail in that we got at our last stop before we left NY.

It was a fun trip. Nice to see everyone. We didn't get to go to the shop cause it was after 5 when we got up there and everyone had left. I like to see all the steel, lol.

It will be nice to get home. I'm tired of riding and sitting. My button is numb, lol!!

Scot... hope your daughter is ok and its nothing serious!

Well this thing is out of battery so I'll talk to ya later! Have a good day all.

Hi everyone.
It's a beautiful day here. Fall is approaching pretty fast. Lots of geese on the little lakes I walk by. They are really fun to watch coming in for a landing....abort abort go around for another pass. I stopped and counted one group - 87 of them. Whilst I was doing that I noticed several more formations coming in, so I gave up.

Trying to keep going with work on the Cutlass. I need to keep busy right now - it gives me something to focus on in a positive way.

This week I'm hopefully dropping the differential and sending it out for the new gears and limited slip carrier to be installed. More MAW stuff keeps rearing it's ugly head as I go though.

Graeme wants to go driving so I guess it's time to head out.

Hope everyone has a great afternoon.

Hi everyone. Hope you all had a good weekend.

Sandy I'm glad you had a good trip. So that's golf for another year. Golf once a year is more than enough for me.

Hm Allan it sounds as though your malady isn't physical. I hope everything gets better for you. Your neighbors haven't moved back, have they?

Never made the Awful house today. I got home late from work and went to sleep for a little while. I might go tomorrow when I run some errands. I'll go on Tuesday for sure.

Scot good luck at the doctor tomorrow.

It's beautiful here now. About 70*. It's nice but I'm not liking what it means. Fall is right around the corner and so is winter. If we have another winter like last year I'll be happy.

Well I hope everyone's week starts out well.

Evening Olds folks,

Enjoyed the weather as much as possible today. Tomorrow's supposed to rain most of the day - ha! What's new about that??? So that means I'll prolly spend the day in the garage working on the car.

Scot - Hope she is ok. Hint: when stomach pains prevail, try playing the 'pull my finger' trick before going to the Dr. Hope it's not anything serious. When kids aren't well, that's every parents worst nightmare.

Mike - you're very perceptive. No they didn't move back, thank God! Just some issues that really bothered me and it all came to a head on Friday. I'll get past it, but prefer just to leave it at that for now.

John - I forgot this is the first NFL Sunday night. So THAT's where everyone is hiding out.

Jamesbo - I don't believe Abbey Hoffman ever really knew what he said. I never liked him anyway. And that's all I got to say bout dat, sept Momma never trusted him further than she could pee up a tree.

Have a great evening.

Allan, glad to see you a bit more chipper, hope all is well with you. My favorite Abby Hoffman moment...is when he jumped up on the stage of a WHO concert, and tried to spill his anti war, anti goverment, "don't trust anyone over 30" hype, and was promptly punched by Pete Townsend!

Beautiful day to go smack whitey round. Heck it's spose to be a beautiful week to go smack whitey 'round.

Allan, I didn't say I liked Abbie Hoffman, I said I thought the book had some funny parts. Tell ya de truth, I didn't care much for him or Hanoi Jane.

Sandy, Jes look it it as if Birdies' are like winning all the money at a car show, Pars are like wining a trophy, bogies are like go'in home empty handed, double bogies like getting wet and triple bogies are like having a wreck on the way. Get it,got it, good.

Oh yeah, An eagle would be like winning the money, getting the best of show trophy and getting "lucky" all at the same show.

Adrian, I had sum Vegemite on my bagel dis mawn'in. Thinking of you and of course our friend Col.

Mike, Did de Awful house put out an APB think'in you was MIA?

Scot, How's your daughter do'in? I'm concerned for y'all.

GTG

Have a great week Olds friends.

Morning all. Back to it this morning. Sounds like a lot of bad news on here recently. My thoughts are with you all havin issues. (Tony, Allan, Scot). Hope everyone has a great week.

We had to trim the equine lawn ornaments feet yesterday. My back is sore. I don't know how those farriers do it. shooting some squirrels makes the JRT happy. Altho He got so much blood on him from shaking them I had to give him a bath. Squirrels are nasty creatures. And over populated. They are stripping the bark on the Elm trees out front again, and destroyed the cushions in the patio furniture.

Have a great Monday all.

Clint those Jerk Russell's make great tree rat dawgs, mine has caught a few before they made it to the tree I wish I can shoot them but being in a subdivision leaves me little to no safe shooting zones, so I just trap them and take em to the woods or give them to a buddy for coyote bait.

Morning everyone.

Slow to get going this morning. It's just beautiful out, and 60*. Got plenty planned for today, wonder what will actually get done.

Jamesbo you've inspired me. I wasn't going to the Awful house today but since I'm going to be over that way I'll stop in.

Clint both my Shepherds have caught yard varments. My girl caught a squirrel and my boy has caught several ground squirrels. I don't think they mean to hurt them, but they get them in their mouths and chomp down on them, I don't know what force a Shepherd's jaw has but I sure wouldn't want to be in it.

Okay time to hit the bricks. Hope everyone's Monday is a good one.

Morning All!

It's a chilly 54 degrees here this morning. It was sunny, but clouds are moving in. Not supposed to rain, but who knows. It's supposed to get up to 70 today and that's it. Looks like 80's coming back mid week! Yay.....

Back to work today. Brian is back with his whiney self, lol. Sure was nice last week. Clay said Friday didn't go completely bonkers with calls and quotes, which was good since he was here by himself. It's not backed up too bad today. I was showing them the pics I took while in NY.

Jamesbo... thanks for the term descriptions, lol. I'll forget them by next year. I was soooo tired last night. I ended up cleaning the house when I got home. Ran the sweeper, cleaned the bathrooms, etc.. It was nice out when the sun was shining. The air was chilly though. Jr. and his daughter came over for sketti. I picked some green beans and froze them. Picked lots of little maters too. Brought Steve in a baggie full of em this morning. Also picked a big bowl full of grapes and brought some in today too. They are good!! I found yellow jackets in them when I was picking them last evening. Couldn't even see the little bas*ards among the grapes in the clusters!! Guess they like them too, lol. They like everything.....

Allan R..... glad things are better for ya! I know how it is.....

Scot... hope all is well with your daughter! Don't let them put her through what I went through and nothing was wrong that needed fixed. Make sure they KNOW something is wrong before they touch her!!!! Run Forrest, RUN!!!

Mike.... yep - I'm done golfing until next September, lol. That's enough for me. We did see a group of wild turkeys come out of the woods and start walking up the cart path, lol. They were pretty cool. Last year I saw turtles in the pond.

Clint.... the squirrels ate the plastic off the cushions on my sister's swing earlier this summer! She was pi$$ed, lol! My nephew tried to shoot the one, don't know if he ever got it or not. I took the pellett gun to 2 friggin deer in the back yard last night. Stung their butts! Gave me great pleasure!!!!

Well reckon I should get something done. I'm gonna take Lin shopping tonight. They still don't know what happened to her. I never did get a call from the neurologist. They increased her blood pressure medication and also the blood thinner. That's all I know! Well you all have a great Monday!!

Good Mawnin Everyone

It's the second week for Graeme at college. He's finding out what it's like to have to get up at 0600 so he can get there on time. I was worried he was going to have a tough time adjusting; and I think I'm right. He didn't sleep well last night and before he left this am he said his stomach hurt. Being the compassionate Dad that I am, I told him he'd get over it, and he should go to bed earlier.

Had a couple cups of java (I really like this new blend I'm trying - its Arabica) and then headed out for my mawning walk. It was cool and overcast. 54° with a 5-10 mph breeze. I think I need to start wearing a light coat; my arms and fingers were feeling the cold.

Jamesbo - how much longer do you figger on whackin whitey? Usually I didn't go much when the leaves started dropping. Couldn't find whitey even when I changed him to yeller or pink or orange. Need a homing signal on them stupid *****.

Sandy - Thx. Sounds like you had a good day away from the office.

Clint - hmmm, a red JRT. Hope he cleaned up real good.

Scot - Hope all goes well with your young one. This come on sudden?

Mike - a day without Awful House is like......going on a diet??

Well, got to go do some studying. TTYL

Good evening everyone.

Just got back from Summit. What a nice night, and a decent crowd. I think people stay away when the temp is still 80+ and the pavement cooks your feet.

Not much to mention tonight, there was one Oldsmobile, a 77 Cutlass with holes around the vinyl roof you could stick your fist through. It was for sale but of course no price and no one was around it.

Scot hope you and your daughter made out okay at the doctors.

I did go to Awful house this morning, and found out a guy that's there all the time is in the hospital. Don't know what's wrong with him, hope it isn't serious.

Allan I learned a long time ago to put my alarm clock across the room. If I have to get up to turn it off, I'll -usually- stay up. But if it's right next to me, I'll turn it off and never even wake up. Graeme will get into a routine and be just fine.

Oh when I was driving to Summit tonight I was behind a semi and one of the trailer tires blew out. Sounded like an explosion and rubber parts went flying. I'm glad I still have good reflexes in traffic or the Fiat would have gotten a nose job. There were two other trucks on the side of the road with flats, I wonder what was up with that tonight?

Well it's almost 9:30 and I haven't had my supper yet. So I'll put something together and settle in for the night. Everyone have a good night.

Evening Oldsmopeople!

I don't even know if that's a word but it popped into my head. Must be lonely spinning around in there all by itself...

Mike - glad to hear you had a good time. Even more glad you didn't get hit by flying tire debris! Get some supper in your tummy and get ta bed; mawnin comes early. The routine for Graeme is strange. He has 815 starts Mon, Thur, Fri. On Wed it's 915. Thurs its 1115. What a wacky schedule. Today we had to go buy him more stuff: The Alberta Building Code (253.00) and more drafting supplies (39.00). That's over 1000.00 just for books and what not now. Yikes!! Then it was off to buy groceries. It's worse than buying for dogs I assure you.

Scot - What's the news?? Please say it's good.....

Jamesbo - I spent soooo many years getting up at 0300, 0400, 0500 that anything later is like waking up at lunch time. I don't need an alarm clock anymore. Before I go to bed I just eyeball what time it is. My internal alarm does the rest. So far I gotta say it's remarkably accurate. Usually get up within 5 minutes of when I expected. Purty sad ain't it? Even in retirement I can't seem to shake some of those time issues. On the other hand I haven't worn a watch now for about a year and a half. Wonder if it still runs? BTW you know why the military types say oh 5 hundred huh? The oh is short for "Oh my Gawd it's early".. an that counts all the way up to 0900!! Ask any teenager!

Thanks all for the concerns And just as my suspicions told me the quack at the Perry ER was way wrong. Turns out she has too much acid build up in her stomach and her white blood cell count was way elevated as well and the quack didn't prescribe an antibiotic. So the family doc nailed the diagnosis and prescribed an all in one medicine with the antibiotic and a antacid. Another problem, that prescription runs around $350 without insurance and my cost would've been $160 and some change So the kind lady at the drug store says; well this IS name brand and there is no generic for it, BUT this medicine has two antibiotics and one antacid. So what i can do is give three separate prescriptions and it'll be cheaper. How much cheaper? Try $140 cheaper! I got the three prescriptions for about $20 That was with my insurance covering the brunt of it though as the receipt shows it would've been over $300 without insurance for the three. Good thing is that there was nothing seriously wrong with her first and foremost and second the pharmacist will definitely receive a Christmas card this year from yours truly

So glad to hear that it worked out. I'd put that pharmacist on my Christmas card list too! So is she starting to feel better yet?

Why would they let quacks even work in an ER?? Can you imagine what horror some of the others admitted there must have faced?

Mornin all.

Scot glad the little one is on the mend. Never seems to get easier when your child doesn't feel good. I live in a subdivision as well (an old one from the 30-40's) so I have to be careful. I know a few of my neighbors like the squirrels, and don't appreciate me shooting them, I've let them know that I wont shoot any on their property, just the ones on mine . We have long skinny lots and trees line the property lines and act as a highway for the critters, so I just sit on the deck with a beer and wait.

I'm waiting on a 2nd estimate today from my dentist. The kid is getting her wisdom teeth out on Friday. All of them. And the specialist that her dentist sent her to seems to be removing them by way of her ears. The missus and I had ours out and for each one of us it was about $350. This guy wants a little over $2100 to remove all 4 of them from one mouth.

Weather is changing tomorrow. Supposed to drop about 30 degrees from today. Man I'm not ready for the cold and wet yet.

Happy Tuesday all.

Happy Tuesday everybody!

Boy did I sleep good. For the first time, I think ever, the dogs didn't wake me up during the night. Crisp 68* here this morning.

So glad Scot the young'un is going to be okay. Funny how one doctor can be a quack and another one decent. Isn't medical school pretty much the same everywhere? That's funny peculiar, not haha.

Got quite a bit done outside on the driveway yesterday. So it's off to Awful house, run a couple errands, and then finish the driveway. Then I might do some house cleaning. I haven't run the vacuum cleaner in about a week. I may need to rake before I do that. Too bad I can't think of anything I could do with all this dog hair and make some money. Sandy my Grandmother used to say she'd run the sweeper.

Okay have a great day everyone.

Morning All!

It's a cool 50 degrees here this morning, but sunny. Heading to the high 70's later they say. I got cold overnight - I still have a thin bedspread and such on the bed. Guess I better switch to he medium heavy ones, lol.

Scot..... glad to hear your daughter got what she needed! I hate quacks. Lord knows I've seen my share, lol. I love pharmacists like that. We have some here at Giant Eagle where I get my scripts filled. Some of them really try to help you out, which is a great thing. I know that nasal spray pain killer they gave me in June cost me $156 cash money. My insurance wouldn't cover it. But I needed it and there was no substitute..... No reason for medicine to cost as much as it does. So do they know why the acid is building up in her stomach? Are they doing more testing? I hope she's feeling better on the meds.

Clint..... Amazing isn't it?? I paid $1100.00 to have Nicoles top wisdoms out in January. When I got mine out back in the early 80's, it was $75 a tooth! And that included getting put to sleep too!!! Times sure have changed.

Jamesbo... that's a funny pic, lol.

I took Lin shopping last night. I didn't get home until 11:00! I was soooo tired. Went right to bed. It took us longer to shop cause I took her to another store too where she got some things on sale. She says shes feeling ok now.

Well I better start doing something, you all have a good 9/11, and say a prayer......

Good mawning peeps!

Did you get a shiver when you woke up this mawnin? It's the 11th anniversary of that horrible day. The weather up here is as miserable as the thought of what happened back then. I'm not sure why, but after only 11 years it seems like people aren't as concerned or pay as much attention anymore. The responders still pay tribute and have never forgotten. I listened to some interviews with them, and saw their tribute at the site. Truly hope the survivors and families of the deceased have been able to move forward with their lives.

The mail guy was just here delivering my orders from Big Sky (car cover), Fusicks, and ILT. I was NOT amused. On top of all the shipping I already paid (118.30) I now had to pay another 44.25 for customs clearance. I looked up "Shipping" in the dictionary and it says "trans verb - a primary means of increasing cost without increasing value". Got that right! I am especially NOT PLEASED with Fusicks 'order'.

Clint - up here the only ones who could do what you do to them squirrels would be farmers on their own land. Squirrels can be interesting neighbors but huge pests at the same time. IIRC they are a member of the rodent family - just evolved differently and I hear they fry up quite nice.

Also re: teeth extraction? Went through that with Graeme. He wouldn't cooperate with the reg dentist so we had to have the teeth extracted by a specialist. 2100.00? I wish it was only that much. I think we ended up paying for his new Bermuda resort house. Ka CHING! 45 minutes/4 teeth later = 2900.00 I know there's expenses, but when you add up the days work that's pretty close to around 20K/surgery day. And that's just 1 day.

Jamesbo - wen I wuz werkin I usta keep them hours too. Onle good thing was gittin ta werk there wuznt much traffik.

Mike - Just occurred to me. You spend so much time at Awful House - are you an owner??

Ha Allan you'd think I owned the place by now! Nope, not the owner but it has occured to me that owning an Awful house would be a great get rich quick scheme.

I was supposed to have my wisdom teeth out about 25 years ago. Never did it. Now they are crowding my other teeth and making them crooked. I haven't been to the dentist in awhile either, but that has to change because I don't want to look like some of the people that live around me.

Haven't gotten squat done today. Ran a couple errands, played with the dogs, paid some bills. Gonna go out now and work on the driveway some more. It sure is beautiful out. This could be our winter and I wouldn't mind it a bit.

I'll take your winter anyday over ours.

LOL

. Me either. It's been just ugly outside. Wind is now gusting to 40mph.

Yeah, you better get those teeth checked. If they start to squeeze each other that leads to cavities pretty quick. Could end up looking like either of these dudes:

and just for the pups?

Mike, I'm sure you know dis but sum of the Good Morning folks may not.

De don't have a key to a Awful house.De are open 24/7 365 days a year.

Personally, I think I'd rather own a dairy or be in prison.

Prison over Awful house? What happened, did your smothered and covered get burned too many times?

The story I heard about the key is they throw it in the parking lot and pave over it. There are actually locks on the doors.

So my neighbor called a little while ago. The one from New Jersey. He wants me to sell his Camaro, again. He's going back to Jersey for some medical reasons and wants to sell the car to pay off his pontoon. So if anyone wants a probably genuine 68 Camaro SS let me know. I'm guessing he'll want the King's ransome and he'll be keeping it a while longer.

Sounds kind of like 7-11. Door locks but always open. I think they DO lock the doors when the police show up and want the premises secured though.

Now THAT's a nasty thought. Police locked in Awful House or a Tim Horton's/Dunkin Donut shop! oh well, might as well be comfy while they're inside , Investigatin can rile up a huge hunger Where's de service round here????
