Dang, Sandy. I feel your pain. It may be cheaper to order the generic thru a Canada RX. We have to do that with a Script we have.

How do you go about doing that, Clint?? Does the doc have to send a script to them or something?

Do some shopping first to see if you can save anything. You will need to know dosages and all that.

If you can then have your Doc print out a RX for you. Or send it to you in an e-mail (in a file that you can send off to them.)

I have personally used http://www.pharmacyrxworld.com

My wifes meds didn't come in a generic in the US, but is sold as a generic everywhere else.

Woohoo! What a day! Finished my 1st day of 3 days worth of MRI's to find out if radiation worked...but that's not what made it such a good day

I got out of my MRI at 11:50 and changed back into my normal clothes. I turned my phone on and it started going off non-stop! Every text message was a congratulations...but for what? Well apparently I made the promotion list for CW3! So awesome! Just happy and wanted to share

Hey, Oldsmofriends...

Feels good to chill @ work for at least a day or two....

Clint, I didn't have any extra pic's in my poor little post. Do you mean my references to Mike's MIA pic's earlier?

James, is all dat rain near Hotlanta? There was just a story on the GA drought this mornin' on NPR.... seems everybody's havin' trouble waterin' their crops up dere; wells are being dug in record numbers; streams are dryin' up; fish are thirsting to death; sounded dire.... Hope when we get back to Hiawassee the whole county hasn't dried up to a shrivel.... It's worth a listen if you live in GA (quite a contingency of them/us in this thread!).

And the poor midwestern crops.... sounds like we're not going to have a kernel of corn this year if you believe all the reports. I know it's bad; but goll-EE, Sgt. Carter.... how bad is it really?

To get to pleasantries, I had bought a cover for the Olds when I first got her and just put it on her last weekend; fits like a glove. I would rather it have a mirror pocket, but none of those covers for oldies have 'em; and in all honesty, the mirrors are so small it hardly matters.

I actually gave the car a wet bath over the weekend; it gets dusty on the miserable gravel road by my house.... especially the wheels. Boy, I gotta' say, it looks nice. Dumb to cover it when it looks so good! But I put the tender on it and covered it like a birdcage to give 'er some good rest. I'm going to be doing some front end work on 'er real soon, so she better enjoy the rest while she can.

Glad you found the wallet, Allan.... what a feeling that must've been to lose it; then just that good to find it.

Y'all have a great and hopefully continued wet day..... for those that need it.

Hey Y'all
It's been a great day up here. My favorite BIL and his princess came by for a visit. They both retired last year and have spent the last 7 months touring Canada and parts of the USA. They're on their way home and stopped by for a visit. I grilled up some poke ribs on slow heat for about 2 1/2 hours. Tellin ya it was mmmmm, mmmmm good. Best ribs in de world. Not burned, great flavor and de meat jess fell right offa de bone...

Been raining most of the day. Not like we really needed it, but I'll take it. This is like the 20th time during the last month and a half I've got a free car wash courtesy of Mom Nature. Gotta remind her to take her little skeeter friends with her when she lets up.

Sandy - I hear ya on the Rx thing. Changing coverage can be a huge problem. That's why I stayed with my work coverage. Cheaper and better than going to another. Something will work out. The $$ cost thing? I'm lucky with my coverage; my 3 month stuff is around 380.00 per bottle, but I only pay around 29.00 of it. When I get to my 'golden' years, it changes again so I only pay a max of 25.00/hit on ANY meds.

Scot - Ya! Movin business!! I'm witchu bud - I don't want to go into that either. Too much like being a masochist.

John - Nice to relax isn't it? Glad the car cover fits. What was the brand? I need a new one with mirror pockets too.

Steve - You Da W.O.!! So does that give you a pay hike too? Congrats, you should be proud.

Clint - none of those pics that we posted look remotely like what you showed in your pic question. I was originally figuring the chicken wire was used, well to keep the chickens from flying out the open roof???? Well, color me pink...

Hey everyone I'm back from Florida.

A whirlwind trip, but a good one. My friend's Amphicar looks pretty good and is a good base for a project. Had a nice time with the friend that picked me up from the airport as well.

Just got back from picking up the dogs. You'd think they hadn't seen me in months.

I don't know what happened to those pictures. Remember it ate Jamesbo's pictures too when he posted them, or Scot. Eh, what pictures. They're on a different page, all but forgotten.

Well I need to get the dogs situated and get stuff put away, so I'll catch up later.

Hi again, four and a half hours later I'm back. Finally got everything put away, caught up, straightened out. I was gone less than 24 hours and it seems like the place fell apart. Oh, it's nice to be missed. What's most important is my dogs missed me, and since they are so good we got some ice cream from Sonic for our treat tonight.

Allan I'm glad you found your wallet. Good thing you didn't go through the hassle of cancelling all your cards and license, etc, though that's a good thing to do if you ever really do lose your wallet.

Clint I wouldn't have guessed the chicken wire was the radio antenna. I figured it was just part of what held the fabric over the hole in the roof.

John I also heard that because of the lack of corn this season, there will be a lack of chickens because they won't have anything to eat. Now I disagree with that, because I happen to know chickens will eat anything. I spent some time on a farm and chickens will eat(or attempt to) rocks, dirt, anything you throw at them, and the shells of their own eggs. What that would do to the tasty McNuggets I don't know.

Glad you got your promotion, Steve. Don't know what a CW3 is but it must be pretty good. Now the icing on the cake would be if your MRIs showed your radiation was working.

Sandy my theory on healthcare cost is that when you submit a bill, and the insurance company says they will only pay so much, the provider ups the bill to get more of what they want, and it's a vicious circle of billing more and paying less. I wish I had the answer as to how to get it all to stop. If I did then we could get rid of all these clowns that say they have all the answers but really don't.

Scot, with a truck and a trailer you are already in the moving business. Guess how I know this.

Jamesbo nothing has happened with the old flame, that's the problem. She's supposed to be here in two weeks and I have yet to hear what her plans are. I'm not calling her.

And with that I think I'll hit the sack. Hey Paul, hey Scumdog. I'm going to make it to NZ one of these days. Hey Udo. Hey Ken. Hey Pat.

Goodnight, Johnboy.

Morning all.

Well, Its still in the 90's but the nights are cooling off. Been a long time since we've had the racket of Cicada like we do this year. It sure seems to me that we are in the weather cycle I remember in the mid to late 70's.

Mike glad your trip went well.

John, Yes. Mikes posts are what I was referring to.

Allan, Dem ribs sound good. Do you prep them in any special way? I have a great recipe for Country style (baked) but looking for a good way to grill them.

Steve, looks like things are right in your world, hope they continue.

I'm gonna go tear apart a Hupp carb and hope the fuel tank comes back today. Have a great Humpday all.

Great minds think alike Allan I too grilled up some ribs last evening 'Cept mine were of the babyback flavor, seasoned by M&T Meats' special rub and then grilled/smoked for 45 mins followed by putting the slab into a tin foil "boat" then coated with BBQ and slow cooked for another 15 mins on each side. YUMMY!

Jamesbo I knew you were just joshing Hopefully I have moved my last load for a long long time

Steve congrats on your promotion! Hopefully the radiation is working and the MRI's prove it.

Sandy did ya get your package?

Well yall have a happy humpday

Morning All!

We had a foggy morning here too. It's burning off now and the sun is out. Temps in the 60's and heavy dew on everything. Supposed to have rain chances later on. I want to go to Chick A Fil A later this evening so I hope it's nice.

Scot.... yep I got the package. Sent ya a pm

Mike... welcome back!

Steve.... great news about your health, and congrats!

Clint.... I'll check it out. Looking at the Summa website, it shows a co-pay should be $50 for the singulair. It may be that it's not 'approved' yet and that's why it's so high right now. I'll keep on the doctors office to get Summa whatever they need.

We got the email yesterday about the NY Golf outing. It's gonna be Sept. 8th again. Brian is taking that week off, so he won't be going again, I don't know if Clay is going since he's out traveling now. Last year it was just Steve and I on that long boring drive, lol. We have fun up there, but that drive........

Well you all have a good day.

Well, "60 Minutes" was at our place yesterday, just hope that they edit my mug out of the video that they took while we were "punching in" (electronic card swipe now a days), we knew that they were coming, but never any info on why. They normally do investigative journalism, so hopefully it's something else on the corporation, like it's success, or it's spot in the alloys casting/areospace department.

Happy Humpday all!

Very cool start to the day. First time in a long while I actually slept UNDER the covers and it felt downright cool getting out from under de sheets. Forecast is for nice n hot weather for the weekend though.

Scot - Baby back? mmmmm, love those too....

Clint - This was 2 racks of prime US poke ribs - weighed in at around 10 pounds raw!! I sliced them into sections of 4-5 bones then marinated them in a mixture of spicey pepper, garlic salt and sun dried tomato dressing. Then I put them into 4 individual aluminum foil boats and sealed them all up. Put on the top shelf of the grill for 2 hours at around 300-325. Then open the boats and take the ribs out of the drippings and put them on the lower grill. Smother with fav BBQ sauce and let them slow cook for another 1/2 hour at around 200 - 250. Each rack was a meal in itself...

Dan - ok, what did you guys do??? What company??? Enquiring minds wanna know.

Mike - got some pics to share? I just saw (sorry) the UGLIEST dog in the world on the mawnin news! It was a cross between a chiatzu and something else and a famous actor.... Small lapdog with permanently unkempt look with Marty Feldman eyes. You remember Marty Feldman? Imagine this on a dog....

Alcoa, lost wax investment castings for the aerospace industry, GE jet engines, Rolls Royce, Pratt Whitney, which go into Boeing and Airbus commercial aircraft, plus gov't. stuff like the F35 Joint Strike Fighter, self propelled Howitzers.

I'll take 2 sequential serial numbers of them self propelled Howitzers, and a numbers matching F35 please! Can I get special order status on them?? I like big toys!

Well after seeing many episodes of 60 minutes, it's anyone's guess what they'll sensationalize. Once in a while they have a feel good story instead of politics or scandal/coverups. Hope this is it but I doubt it. Watch for heads to roll cause it's gov't related....

Evening everyone.

Man did I sleep great this morning. It was overcast and the dogs kept quiet. I got up around 1 and didn't do anything all afternoon. It was great! Work tonight, first of three.

Fishheads and rice? Jamesbo what does that mean?

Alcoa stuff that goes into GE and Pratt jet engines is something I'd work on. Hm. They got a place in the Quad Cities near where I'm from.

Allan I've never seen a dog that had google eyes quite like that. Are you sure it was a dog?

Clint you got some pics of the Hupp that you're working on? Is it in pretty good shape? Are you doing a ground up restoration on it?

Time to git to gittin' . Hope everyone has a great night.

It is a dog. Handsome Hector is its name.

I do not understand why people want to keep in-breeding dogs to make them ugly.

Evening all,

Beautiful day and evening. Life is GOOD! By the end of the week I'm thinking I'm gonna have a bumper crop of nice big juicy red maters! Picked another bushel o' beans this afternoon for supper. I can now officially join a marching band - with all dem magical musical beans I can now toot up a storm with the best of em!

Mike - Yup, I'm sure it was a dog. When I first saw it I thought it was a mutated ball of straw. BTW, do we need to enroll you in a "lifemates" program or something?? There's more than one fish in the ocean; fact is you wanna stay away from the ones that are predators. Might have to send down a supermodel for ya!

Adam - Ditto. But uglier and hairier....

We make the airfoils, the GE90 is one of our main ones, and we have been doing parts of the RR Trent 1000, and I believe the XWB (new), If I recall the names correctly.

Happy Thursday mornin all.

Mike, I'll see if I can snap a couple today with it up on stands. I'm going thru the fuel system, and trying to get it a little more roadworthy. It's fairly original and needs a full resto, but it is a driver, and this guy will keep for a long time. He'll slowly get her all done.

Gonna cool off today and stay in the 70's. The nip in the morning is hinting change.

Last day of Summer league first day of winter league. have a great day Olds friends.

Good Thursday Mawnin All

Adam that is one ugly dog Kind of reminds me of a dog named Lucky.

Mike we used to have a saying that if we didn't care about someone, we'd say EF 'em and feed 'em fish heads. I think this is what Jamesbo was implying.

That's pretty cool Dan not only that 60 Minutes came to your work but what you guys do

Well guys the peaches I sent Sandy were a complete failure I didn't do anything different as far as shipping or packaging as I did last year, but they arrived a complete mess. Sandy I know it's not my fault but I am truly sorry. Sad thing is that I didn't insure it due to trying to keep the costs down. I guess I need to find a way to send them faster, but that usually means a lot more $. I heard Greyhound was a decent way to send stuff faster than snail mail but I think you have to purchase a ticket for the package to ride With that much $ we might as well send them Express Mail which is guaranteed by the next day but with a 12" X 12" X 12" box that weighs 10 lbs shipping is $61.25 at the post office and $41.35 online I don't know how to send them and be cost effective

Jamesbo I wrapped each peach in bubblewrap and taped them, den I put more bubblewrap on top and bottom and tore a box up for filler to prevent them from shifting around and then I taped the box shut really well What gets me is that they shipped fine last time

Morning All!

Sunny and cool again here this morning. Temps in the 60s but warming up later. Hope it's a nice night for Bellacino's.

I went to Chick Fil A last night. Beautiful evening for a cruise in. A few cars I hadn't seen before too, but I forgot my camera. Figures.

Yeah, the peaches didn't fare too well this year. I felt soooo bad about having to tell Scot. I so appreciate the time he takes to do this for me. Last year they were wonderful!! I'm trying to remember if you shipped them next day or something... they came on Fed Ex, I'm pretty sure.

These ones were wrapped the exact same way - last year the bubble wrap was pink with big bubbles (I saved it to use for other things, lol), and the peaches were baseball size, lol. Soooo juicy and good. That's why I wondered if these were the same type of peaches, cause they were smaller. I thought if they were different types, maybe one travels better than the other? I don't know, just guessing.

They were very hot inside the box, especially like the 2nd layer. The best ones were actually on the bottom. I ate one yesterday - cut the funky parts off, and it tasted real good! I really think they left them sitting in the sun, or in the truck or somewhere where it was hot. I really do. It's their fault. The box was marked Perishable......

Next year will be better, I'm sure!! I'll send money ahead of time and we will pick the best shipping way!!

Look at em.

The box was ok.

Well they got damaged in shipping, no doubt. People can't read, or just don't take the time to read!!! Speaking of the post office, what's happening with that, Scot?? And, how is your new job search going? You haven't mentioned it for awhile.

Better news for a change, lol..... I got a call from Nicole's doctor's office yesterday that Summa approved a generic Singulair!! So I called the Giant Eagle pharmacy and after about 15 minutes of her punching in all the friggin numbers on the insurance card, she finally found Nicole, and sure enough, Summa approved the generic drug! Cost $36.00 for a 90 day supply. Says on the label "cash price $591.00". They also approved her Inhaler.... cost $30 with Summa, was only $10 with Kaiser. So there went another $63 I didn't plan on spending. I swear...... everytime I think I can save ten bucks, something comes up.....

I had that little 'gas' or 'indigestion' pain under my breast bone again, from Tuesday thru yesterday. That's the little pain I went to see Dr. Bressi about in the first place that started this whole friggin kidney thing. Dr. Banks seemed to think it was the swollen kidney pushing on the other organs that are crammed in there, that caused that little 'gas' pain, but he wasn't sure. Since that was the only abnormal thing inside me, it's just what he figured happened. Well, I can't believe that my kidney would swell again enough to be pushing on the other organs only 4 days after having the stent removed? I don't know. I didn't have that pain at all while the stent was in. It's gone today, and I'm just going to try to keep track of when it happens, and if it's happening real often, then I will see Dr. Bressi about it in like October or something. I'm not saying a word about it right now!!! It's such a hard pain to describe. If I go see Dr. Bressi later in the fall, I'm gonna tell her I want tested for acid reflux, or an ulcer, or all the simple crap that it could be, before we start messing with my kidney again. I really don't think the kidney has anything to do with it, but what do I know, lol.

I'm looking forward to Bellacino's tonight to de-stress.......

I see da' cow a'comin'.....

Hey guys and gal.... it's 50-50 fer flat rockin' today; I felt a little mist walking to one of the other bldg's just now. Sure need a good shower on the way home this afternoon to warsh all the bugs off da' Camry.
Too busy warshing the Fusion, Vette, and Starfire to bother with the daily driver.

Really too bad about those peaches, Sandy and Scot; I guess it got hot as the headers in my old '68 GTO in one of those trucks. This summer we Fedexed some chocolates to my wife's uncle in N.C. for his birthday and it was also a disaster... and they actually had a freezer pack in the box.

Allan, you makes me want to strike up a grand chorus of "Beans, beans, da' musical fruit...." And if you don't think Marty Feldman was funny -- as Larry the Cable Guy would say -- you ain't right.

Only thing funnier dan Young Frankenstein was Blazing Saddles.

Jamesbo, methinks we goin' up for Labor Day; will y'all be up? it will just be a long weekend, so not sure what we could really do; maybe meet at a restaurant somewhere? Go for a hike? I know those are two things the better half would be interested in, not necessarily in that order....

Seriously, ain't sure what's up her sleeve for dis trip; but I do know it will be a quickie. We got a deal on the two plane tickets and the car that was 2 good 2 pass up.

Talk at you good folks soon. And if anybody sees Julie Newmar today, wish her a happy 79th birthday. (Lucky Batman....)

As long as we don't start getting into computer controlled nuances that are undefined in system theory or history and are not replicable in real time testing. That thread got lost somewhere along the way...it needs someone to come offer another realistic quiz to get it back on track.

Did someone mention Blazing Saddles? One of my favorite lines:

Taggart: I got it! I got it!
Hedley Lamarr: You do?
Taggart: We'll work up a Number 6 on 'em.
Hedley Lamarr: [frowns] "Number 6"? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with that one.
Taggart: Well, that's where we go a-ridin' into town, a-whompin' and a-whumpin' every livin' thing that moves within an inch of its life. Except the women folks, of course.
Hedley Lamarr: You spare the women?
Taggart: Naw, we rape the sh*t out of them at the Number Six Dance later on.
Hedley Lamarr: Marvelous!

Happy Thursday all!

Looks like lots been happening.....

Sandy - Sorry to see the peaches turned on ya. At least some of them made it. Take the rotten ones to work and put them in Brians desk drawer so dey can 'cure' over de weekend...

Scot - Mebbe next time put some silica gel in de box?? I dunno. You gave it your best shot. Dat's one reason I don't ship perishables. I know - next time Sandy can drive TPO down and visit witcha whilst pickin up de peaches!!

John - X2. Loved both of those. Ever see 'Dead Men Don't wear Plaid?' Another classic I can watch anytime.

Steve - I remember that! Boy it takes ya back in time doesn't it?

So now I'll join Jamesbo and sing a happy song...boom shucka lucka boom boom boom shucka lucka lucka (remember Stripes wit Bill Murray?)

This mawning I took my Mrs. for her ultrasound and mamogram stuff. I was pleasantly surprised to find the waiting room provided wit the latest editions of Car & Driver, Road & Track, etc. Time went by purty fast I tell ya. Anyway - we should know if all's well shortly. (this is just a well visit for all you curious types)

Den we walked across the parking lot to the "Lemongrass Cafe" and had lunch. Spicy lemongrass chicken, spicy curried beef & veg, rice and Jasmine tea. Lot's o leftovers so we brought dem home for de boy. Slurp - gone! Dad, Mom I still hungry....what's new??

Picked up my re-done curling shoe. Had a new slider put on for 60.00 Can't get any practice ice till next week, but I know it's gonna make a big difference on the ice. Thicker the slider the slipperier on the ice. I went for 3/16" instead of 1/4". Most slippery one you can get is stainless steel.

Think I'll go to the other section and rabble rouse for a bit. TTYL

Hey everybody.

What a weird night at work. The lead came out and said, you and you and you work on this plane, the rest of you stand by. So at 1am a couple of us went to lunch. At 4am we were all upstairs in the breakroom sleeping. At 530 the lead said go home. Every Monday should be like that.

I was just watching an early Seinfeld. In the days before Jerry drove a Saab, he drove what I think is a 71 Cutlass Supreme. I know it's a Cutlass Supreme, but not sure on the year. It's silver with a black vinyl top, not a halo top, and the interior is 1971 green. Sport hood, not OAI.

Too bad about the peaches. I like the idea of "donating" them to Brian.

Jeff there's a guy here in Atlanta selling a 72 U code convertible. He wants 9500 for it, seems like a worthy project. Maybe you could stuff it on a 767 and ship it to SLC. I know of a few of them that go that way.

Okay everyone have a great night. It's time to run up to another fun filled 12 hours. Or less.
