Yes, there is nothing like beating the **** out of a woman to get you fired and shamed from everything. We had a world class douchebag as a Vice President at the new Mississippi plant. His ex wife came down to extort him and he proceeded to beat the **** out of her, loud enough for it to be noticed and the cops called. Well, he mouthed off to the Tupelo PD and they tazed his ***, twice. He was immediately fired.
He had been profoundly rude to me one time, but my managers took care of it well before I could. He tried to kick me off a line because I was taking data and disrupting a trial. I built the damn line and I was about to warm to my rebuttal and ask if my company (Toyota national) had turned the shop over to Toyota Mississippi yet. Fortunately, he took his *** off the table a day later. The Lord works in mysterious ways.
The Sherrone Moore case is becoming more puzzling. I get the firing/termination with cause as it pertains to U-M policy; but, then he gets arrested for supposed assault in a separate incident? Not sure how those two events are related &/or if they're related. U-M has some turmoil.
Yup a goddamn mess. Some people don't know how good they have it, until it's gone.
Widow of my neighbor whom I purchased my home from (2001 - his [George's] parents owned the home) called to invite me to their Christmas brunch Dec. 20th @ 1 pm. I just attended their Thanksgiving dinner. Sooooo...nice of them to think of me each year.
You going to lay a pile of whipping cream on that thing?
Not sure if I'll have Cool Whip or Vanilla Ice Cream with it, I love it both ways. We have Cool Whip in the house. I'll have to run up to Dollar General if I want Ice Cream, but no biggee because Dollar General is only 5-minutes away.
I seldom buy Cool Whip or any ready-made whip cream. A pint of heavy cream, powdered sugar & vanilla extract is all you need. Hit it w/ the blender on high ~4' to 5' for the best tasting whipped cream.

Ya, I agree, homemade is certainly much better.
Avatar is my 4-4-2 engine. Surprised you can't see it very well, it's very clear on my phone or tablet.
Honestly, Mr. Jim - I didn't start using/trying Durkee's on any sandwiches until your recommendation(s) several years ago. It's become an excellent go-to staple.
Speaking of apples, I eat 2/3 "Honey crisp " [cold from the fridge] every day My all time favorite
Honey Crisp's are very good. I like my apples on the tart side, so Granny Smiths are right up there near the top for me, especially for apples you can find in stores. We had a good sized orchard within 5-miles of the home I grew up in in Michigan that had a variety called Northern Spy. They are a smaller, multi-colored apple that are very Crisp and tart, my all time favorite.
Ah Friday and I'm at home. I had planned on going to see my friend in Alabama but I came down with a head cold. Not very nice going to see someone and bringing them sickness. But I kept my day off today anyway and have just been lollygagging around. I need to do something important so I don't waste the day. But I don't feel like doing anything.
Jamesbo I've been looking for that stuff and can't find it anywhere. Even Publix. I don't care for the stuff but I wanted to send it to someone who does. Maybe I can get it on Amazon.
Chris isn't that the same picture you've always had? Looks like your heater is bypassed.
Norm your project load doesn't end when the cold weather sets in. Always something to do. That's like me. But the difference is you actually do your projects instead of just looking at them.
Well I think I'll pay a couple bills and get a Christmas card out and then see what else I can get into. It's sunny but on the cold side, but no wind. Hope everyone has a good day.
Gonna be a very chilly weekend here with highs in the teens and lows in the single digits. There's a chance for a little snow Saturday.
Keegan does not have any games this weekend. Gabe has games on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, both around 3pm. I'm looking forward to those. No other big plans.
I'm supposed to take my truck in to have the new tires put on it Monday morning early with the low in the single digits. I'm a little concerned about it starting Monday morning after sitting out in the bitter cold all weekend. I'm going to make sure it starts Sunday afternoon and then put it on a tender Sunday afternoon into Monday morning and hope for the best.

You bought a truck w/o a block heater? Why I never....

. . .

Mike - Sorry you've come down sick and can't go to see your friend. Good on you for not wanting to take the chance of getting them sick.
I changed my Avatar this past Spring. I'll post a pic here of what my old one was from 2019-2024. Yes, I do have a heater bypass. I took my new Avatar pic right after I had finished the bypass. I had developed a heater core leak and did not want to go through the trouble of removal and repair, especially when I had never had a need for it in the 5-years I'd owned the car, so I just bypassed it. I like the looks of the engine bay much better without the extra hoses. Here's the pic I had for my Avatar from 2019 - 2024.
Well, I don't like the manner in which I have the A/V components hooked up. Everything is working - I suspect in a serendipitous manner, I guess. Bottom line is the armoire is again moved out from the wall & a renegotiation of component circuitry is underway.
Ordered & picked up an Insignia memory card reader capable of addressing micro-SDHC formatting at Best Buy this morning. This thing is FAST! I bought a new magnetic dprofy Golf Cart Speaker a couple weeks ago. It can be used in several manners, Bluetooth, USB, etc. as well as a memory card. The only memory card it supports is micro-SDHC (which I'm fine with). These micro-SDHC memory cards are smaller than the fingernail on your thumb.
Norm - I understand what the dprohy golf cart speaker is/does, and the Insignia Memory Card Reader. My question is were the 2 items purchased to interact with one another in some way, or just independent purchases?

I must not be understanding your question. Yes, they were each independent purchases and yes they were purchased to interact with one another as stated: The only memory card it supports is micro-SDHC

Chris - Perhaps I see the disconnect. I have a couple memory card readers, but they are SD card readers - incapable of reading/writing "micro-SD" format. I also have a couple memory card adapters; and, they are only SD format capable - not micro-SD capable. Albeit, I needed a reader compatible w/ "micro-SD". Does that make sense?
Chris - And, to top if off - it works! Win-win this morning on this front at least. I have to chuckle at all of this. I'm the guy who tried to explain to my friends back in the day 8-track tapes, cassette tapes & CD/DVDs were all a bunch of B.S. We were capable of storing digital information on chip circuitry way back in the day when 8-track tapes/players were invented. Why the hell are they producing music on 8-track, cassette & CD/DVD if we can store digits onto chips. Eventually, the Universal Serial Bus (USB) arrived on-scene. Hell, we've been using Universal Serial Bus technology since the dawn of digital formatting. Ah well, easy for me to get on the soap-box w/ this so I'll let it die a slow death.

Mike - I recall you saying earlier you planned to head to Alabama. I think you made the right choice for yourself & your friend. 'Something' has been going around for about a month. It's likely to be one or several rhinoviruses. You can't kill a rhinovirus. The best you (anyone) can hope for is to maintain a strong/healthy immune response which entails SLEEP as the primary defense mechanism. Sleep as long as you can & as often as you can.
The look you get when you **** away $6 million/yr on a five year contract....mental illness my A$$. He lacks morals, discipline & responsibility - he's a pig. He might just as soon have slit his own throat for all I care - save everyone the cost of taking this to trial. I'm beginning to think his wife is retarded (maybe his mother, as well).

Yes, that definitely clears things up, thanks for the additional explanation! 👍
DAN!!! I love it. I told a guy at work once that I wanted an Outback. He said oh, are you a lesbian? I hadn't heard, up to that point, that Subaru actively markets to gay women. It was harder and harder to find one with a straight shift, and I ultimately decided against a car that chews through its timing chain every 40,000 miles.
Norm I can't find Durkee's at Walmart or Publix. I haven't tried Kroger since I can't stand that place. I could take a quick look if they have it. We don't have Albertson's or Safeway. When I lived up home I shopped at Jewel. Albertson's has since bought them.
So it's a beautiful day here, in the 60s, and I ran a couple errands and then mowed the back yard. The trees are devoid of their leaves and it was hard to clean up the back yard, so I mowed all the leaves away and it looks so nice. I didn't get as much done as I would have liked today, but the errands were necessary and the yard was a bonus. So I'm pleased with my day off.
I'm guessing the man is the one who beat up his wife? Do we know if this is the first time it happened?
Okay over to Mom's and put together a couple of desk chairs.
It's a 2023 w/34k on the odo. I decided to get rid of the Hyundai before the engine grenaded on me. Not totally loaded, base engine, no turbo, or sun roof, but it has heated leather seats. probably more tech than what I care for, but that is the way they all are now. ordered Weather tech floor mats, and a set of Falken Wilderness Peak a/t's for it today. The tires on it are decent, all season, but i wanted a little more bite. The Falken's aren't as agressive as say, a B.F.G. all terrain, but have much better on road wet, snow, ice braking and acceleration. Mike, maybe older ones had timing chain issues, but I have read nothing on any current models.
