The *NEW* Good Morning Thread!
Good afternoon guys,
I went to watch Gabe play hockey last night. He scored in the 3rd period to put his team up 3-2, but his team gave up 2 goals later in the period and lost. Next up, grandson Ollie has his 1st T-ball game Saturday morning, that should be interesting.
Went with my wife this morning to her 3-week Post-Op appointment. The surgeon said everything looked great and he doesn't need to see her again for 6-months as long as she's not having any discomfort or she notices something new herself. If she's clear at 6-months, they'll move the next check-up out to a year. Yahoo!
A little cooler today, 80'ish, but there's another Severe Weather Warning that will go into effect between 5 and 8pm this evening. I hope we don't get it too bad.
Turned on my Sprinkler System today and ran it quickly through the zones.
Hope ya'll are having a great day!

Gas leak, Norm, has gone away. I had both the water heater and the furnace turned off, and the gas smell went away. Then I turned the water heater back on and lit it and it's been going a couple days and no smell. So I think it's inside the furnace. It remains off and I've got a call in to the guy who installed it to come out and have a look.
Chris glad Dawn's reports are coming back positive. Is her first name Delta?
I can't jump in and out of the car like I can the pickup, but it isn't too bad of a maneuver. Just have to go slow. Once seated I have plenty of room and I tell you that guy scoots.
Did I miss another round of fake person sounding like Soap?
I saw a shirt once that said Marry Me FlyFree Standby.

When I was finding out info about your new car, if I remembering correctly, there were 3 or 4 trim levels on the 124 Spyder. Do you know what trim level your car is? Just curious. I love the body style!
Chris nice to hear the check back in is positive. Always felt and have commented b4 the not knowing is the hard part. Now you know
Mike that car is bad ***.
I had a CJ5 back in the day, that was a favorite ride for one of my past shepherds "Avoca" to ride in with the top off. Every time we pulled into Dairy Queen she had a cone and I had one, the workers at the drive through loved her. When we would cross the Wisco River covered iron bridge at Lone Rock on our way to the farm in Boscoble she would "duck her head" even though we had a good 7-8'clearance I always chuckled and told her "Knock it of" "Shepherds aint no scardie cats" Always enjoy your stories about your Tiger pup.

I remember seeing on a commercial there was a “handle” that slipped over the door striker so you had a secure post to grip for getting in and out of the vehicle. Thought it was odd at the time, but now I completely understand.

Good morning everyone.
Quite a few people came in for overtime this morning, but I don't see a lot done. It's only Friday,, no need to get done and leave early or anything.
Chris that's a song. Delta Dawn what's that flower you have on... My car is the Classico, the base model. If it gets too cumbersome to get in and out, it goes away. I will say it gives the classic roadster feel, with the long hood.
Kenneth I've seen those grip assists before. I can't help but thing if you lean on that a few times, especially if you're "full bodied," that it might snap the door catch right off and you'd do a face plant right there in the parking lot. Besides that, you'd have to duct tape your door shut. It does seem like a good idea.
Well happy Friday to everyone. Hope you all have a good weekend.

I'm sure driving your new Spyder is a completely different driving experience than what you're used to, maybe it will grow on you, maybe not? When I first got my 4-4-2, it seemed huge, sitting behind the wheel the hood looked like it was a mile long. Yet, in order to comfortably reach the gas/brake I have to move the seat way forward, and then when stopped I have to move the seat way back to get my legs out from under the non-tilt wheel.
Good morning guys,
Well, it got pretty hairy in this neck of the woods last night. The worst here was around 6:30 with heavy rain, high winds, and lightning. Apparently we got off easy, there are tons of reports this morning of destroyed buildings and other structures showing signs of rotational winds, although I haven't seen confirmation of tornadoes on the ground yet. I've seen multiple pictures of destroyed metal pole barns, and a picture of a huge section of metal bleachers blown onto the Raceway at Worldwide Technologies Raceway across the river in Illinois.
Much cooler behind the front today, it's only supposed to get into the mid-60's, with sunshine. I'm planning on taking the car out to a cruise-in at a Sports Bar in Arnold this evening from 4 - 7pm. Hoping there's a decent turnout.
Hope ya'll have a great day and weekend!

Okay Chris, I've never heard of Zulu Dawn. Glad you missed out on the high winds.
We are snoozing along today. I think we are around 60 wheels, which is pitiful. Gonna be another 230 day. So far our weather is holding out, I heard it was supposed to rain today. Maybe I'll do some mowing if I can when I get home.
So I'm now up to November 2023 in the back pages. And what's funny, I posted that I had started reading from the beginning, and I thought when I got caught up it would be 6 months from then. Well I wasn't far off. So far it's been about 5 months. So what was happening 5 months ago? Jamesbo was trying to kill himself on the bush hog, John was replacing sump pumps, and everyone was getting back to normal after Thanksgiving.
Have I asked in the past if anyone knew of any way to shred tires and/or other soft plastic at home? Maybe a chipper-shredder like what you'd put tree branches into? I don't know why the road pavers can't shred tires and mix it all in with the asphalt. Might wear a little better and I'll bet it would be quieter.
Okay almost lunch.

Norm - Duh, I knew that, maybe Can-Am Spyder on the brain, or not enough coffee yet, thanks.
Thanks Mike. Since I posted Dawn found confirmation of an EF1 that was on the ground about 10-miles from us. I'm sure there will be other confirmations throughout the day.

Big storms here last night. 000 Buck sized hail. I saved a few. That storm went through, then another one came and my sump pumps were hauling ***. So, I went down and checked and found a small puddle in one of the two spots I have gotten water on the basement floor. Sopped it up and went upstairs. I had cleaned out gutters last winter, but I noticed that my front gutter was overflowing, so I went out, stood on the decorative wall, and reached up and cleared the clog. Big water flow, gutter recovered.
The house can get water at the 90 degree turns in the gutters where the house has kickouts. As the house is an L and has a porch kicking out of the middle of the backside of the L, there are three corners. Think of -L, where the corners are at the turn of the L and on either side of the dash. If I keep the gutters clean, there are no issues, and this is the first time I've seen water in a decade down there, so I'll clean them out next week.
I need new, guarded, gutters, and the main drain of the house needs roto rooted so the sumps don't work so hard.

Fooled again, won't be the last time. Went to the car cruise tonight and showed up about 1/2-hour early because there are always early arrivals and I wanted to get a decent spot. When no one arrived by 5pm, I went inside and asked the manager if they were hosting a cruise-in tonight and he told me they weren't hosting them this year. So much for the accuracy of the Car Event Websites, there are at least 3 different sites showing it as still occurring. Wasn't all bad, it was a nice evening for just taking a drive in the car with mid-60 degree temp.
There's a cruise-in at the new Culvers in Festus tomorrow evening, and my buddy with the '66 Vette is supposed to meet me there which should be fun.
Hope ya'll are having a nice evening!

Good morning guys,
Sunny, but still on the cool side, 43° right now and headed to a high of only 60°.
Grandson Ollie's T-ball game yesterday was comical, as you would imagine from a bunch of 5-yr olds. Ollie looked like he was having a great time which is all that matters, and he was excited we were there.
I went to the cruise-in at the new Culver's yesterday evening and my buddy met me there. There was a huge turnout. I'm glad I got there early and got us a couple of nice parking spots because it got really packed. This was the 1st cruise-in at this place and the Manager spoke like it would become a monthly event, which is a nice thing because we've had a couple of reoccurring monthly cruise-ins that are no longer happening this summer.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Hi everyone.
Man it was pouring rain this morning at 830, but Tiger had to go out so we got up. He wasn't happy. We went back to bed when we got in and slept until 10. It was nice. Then got ready for Walmart and went over there.
Still spitting rain and it's just dreary out, dare I say dank, so it's inside stuff this afternoon. Once I get the laundry going I think I'll go work on the bedroom upstairs. The walls need help before painting, and I need to finish up in the closet so I can paint and get the closet organizer organized.
Jamesbo what are those purple flowers? I have them in my front yard but I have no idea what they are. They are pretty.
Had a great time up in the North Georgia mountains yesterday. We didn't do too much but such nice people. Texted my friend Leo a picture of my car when I left, thinking he'd call and talk for 2 hours. He didn't disappoint. That's a boring ride so it was nice to talk.
Okay time to do something. Hope everyone has a good day.
