1957 Olds Pedal question

Hi All. Am totally (or trying) to upgrade a '57 olds 88 to disc brakes. Has anyone here done this and what kind of Brake pedal system should I use or how can I alter mine to work w/a firewall mounted master cilandir (spelling) ,sorry. Any advice about anything involved w/this transform would be greatly appreciated. many thanks. Charly9g. WFG4U@aol.com

Welcome to the site!

Pat (citcapp) has done this on his 1957. If he doesn't see and reply to this thread you might send him a PM or email. Here's a thread where he's referenced the swap.

I did the same swap on my 57

Used an aftermarket firewall mounted 8" dual diaphragm booster with a corvette master cylinder.

Did away with the drivers side air box (heat and defrost work fine without it).
fabricated a blank flat plate out of 16 gauge steel to cover the air box hole.

Used a swinging pedal and bracket out of a 70 Olds delta 88 out of the wrecking yard mounted it to the left of the steering column. heated up the swing arm and bent it to fit to the right side brake location. Did the conversion in a weekend.

Almost forgot ran a brace from the pedal bracket to the steering column dash support to add strength to the pedal assembly

I am sure there are several brake pedals and bracket that can be made to fit just have to cruise the wrecking yards.
