Does anyone know off the top of their head the tooth count on a OE Flywheel for a 455 motor? I just recently stripped mine and trying to pinpoint what my next step should be. Your insight is appreciated!

So if the flywheels simply just stripped I can just get away with purchasing a ring gear? Clearly flywheels aren't my strong point.

 

It is common to just replace the ring gear. Also at times they can be turned around by a machine shop to get fresh teeth toward the starter if none are missing or very bad..

 

I see, well if this is the case, it would probably be much more cost effective! Which of course, I'm always a fan of!!

 

I went ahead and just now ordered to ring gear! Appreciate the swift help oldsmaniac, I'll keep posted on what ends up happening!
