Name these parts

I am doing a frame off on my 1970 olds 442 convertible, I noticed that under the rear springs there was what appeared to be a spacer under the rear springs I do not see anything of the sort in my assembly manual so I am suspicious that it was added by previous owner to raise the rear to accomidate 50 tires, any thoughts on this matter will be greatly appreciated.
Attached is a photo showing items in question.

Thanks,
Joe

Your suspicions are correct as these parts are aftermarket items for doing just as you described. If you are doing a factory stock restoration, leave these spacers in the used parts bin.

The back of that car must have been miles in the air - or the rear springs are completely shot.

I believe the springs were that bad because the car for the most part was pretty level, a few years ago I replaced the springs in the front and did not notice much of a difference, though it seems to me that the car in general seemed high which would mean that the front was also raised, but the fact that I did not notice any change after replacing the front springs would prove otherwise.
If you go to the newbie section under newbie onboard I have some pictures posted, take a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks for verifying what I thought was going on

You running 26's or 28's on that donk? I had those same spacers on my 69 396 Chevelle back in 1989. You could buy them at pretty much any parts store when A bodies were just cars. Gabriel used to make them among others.
