Looking for a '55 Olds 98 324 fuel pump
If this is the wrong forum, then please move it to where it is suppose to be.
This Starfire came with the wrong fuel pump, a cheap electrical one at that. So not only do I need a good fuel pump but I need one to either rebuild or trade in as a core.....or else be on the hook for a rather expensive fuel pump. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You can swap in a new fuel pump out of a 63-64 for cheap, with no dual diaphragm and add a Newport electric wiper system to work your wipers and actually drive in the rain with no worries, Easy swap both ways. Tedd

Hey, if you don't care, I certainly don't care....
This way they love you --- you paid the full retail price plus tax, and through e bay, plus tax on shipping.....
So, essentially, you threw away $ 75...... I hope, for your sake, you don't do that every day.....
Do you realize that if you throw away $ 75 a day, that would amount to $ 27,375 a year (except next year, 2024 is a leap year...).....
Have a ni$$$e day......

Over the last couple of years, I've had quite an adventure with fuel pumps for the 324. First I got 2 different pumps from Fusick. They both failed. Then, I did exactly what you did, bought a fuel pump from eBay. I used the Fusick rebuild kit. Be careful on the direction of the check valves when you replace them. This one lasted a year. Then it failed. The current one has lasted, so far, about 6 months, so far so good.
My guess is the material in the check valves is failing, but just a guess.

Good luck!
