carb linkage

Hi Guys, I just switched my 1955 olds 324 from the original rochester 2bbl carb to the original roghester 4bbl. Now I can't get the 4bbl. to get to wide open throttle. Did they use different linkage rods?
Thanks in advance for any help on this. Tom

Ok, not the greatest picture, but hopefully it will help you.
From A to B I have about 5.1/2"
let me know if you need more

Pat's number is likely correct for the 4 BBL. The rod is adjustable. You already have the 2 BBL. version. Mine is lost in the parts storage.

Thanks Ozzie, mine is set at about 5.75". I will have to play with the adjustments. Right now it is shifting to soon in all gears and will not downshift to passing gear with heavy acceleration. Tom

If you have the 1955 Oldsmobile shop manual look on pages 3-96 and 3-97. The adjustments for the Hydramatic are shown there. But you will likely need the 4 BBL. linkage for them to work properly.
