I’m rebuilding the passenger side upper A arm on my 75 Cutlass. Drivers side is done. The front nut is welded to the control arm shaft. I will cut it off.
The question is, I ordered a new control arm and it had an offset to it.
I want to keep the same camber, with the same shims in the front and back bolts against the frame. Will this shaft work or should cut my losses and get a straight shaft and reuse the same shims. Also I have to cut the old ball joint rivets off.
update. So I couldn’t believe I ordered an offset shaft. I went back and found my order and box in the recycling bin from rock auto and lo and behold I did order the correct part as shown in the last picture. Rock Auto shipped me an offset part shown in the second picture, what they shipped does not match the picture under mevotech description.
anyways it’s the first problem I have had with rock auto.
A new order is being processed. Will see how it works out for the 2 nd time around.
