upper control arm bushings

how tight on your cross Shaft should new upper control arm bushings be when 1st pressed in.? Mine seem to be on the loose side just sliding them on.

The bushings are loose on the shaft. The clamp nut and washer locks them in place.

Note the serrations on the inner sleeve that hold the bushing in place against the step on the shaft when you torque the nut.

Chuxter, You may already know this but...the nuts on the ends of the control arm shaft shouldn't be tightened until all of the weight is on the wheels. If tightened before the torsion on the rubber will destroy the bushing in a hurry.

Ensure that the cross shafts are not worn, the bushings should fit snug.
