Q-jet rebuilder recommendation - Chicago area

Looking to rebuild qjet. I live in the Chicago area. Any suggestions? Someone recommended The Quad Shop in Rockford. Anyone ever use them?

Greg Kalkoff, a long time Olds guy.

Great service and outcomes.

None better.

He has rebuilt Q-jets for me that run like EFI.

I want to say around 400 or so but that included replating everything as well. I've heard of Sparky as well.

You might consider Danny Sarvis. He is a member on our website (70Wcars). He rebuilt my Q-jet for about $200. It works like a champ! The only problem is he lives in Texas.

I called Sparky. He's in Milwaukee. Great guy. Easy to talk to. Very knowledgeable. Says he has a 3-4 week turn around. Shouldn't put a dent in the Midwest driving season. I'll be sending the carb to him. I'll post on the results.

When Danny rebuilt my carburetor he didn't replate it but he cleaned it thoroughly. I was very impressed with his work. When I got the carburetor back all I had to do was bolt it on and set the choke.
