Looking for a reputable rebuilder in Chicago

Hey all,

I dragged my feet all winter and haven't been on in a while. I picked up my 69 Cutlass last June and did quite a bit to it to get it back on the road. The 350 in my car smokes... bad with some serious oil residue in the pipes. I replaced the valve guide seals due to a few recommendations in September and it still didn't help. I'm past my know how and I don't have the room or proper tools to do an engine overhaul/rebuild. So i'm looking for a recommendation in the Chicago area for a good engine shop that can do the work for me. Hopefully someone in my neighborhood can point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

Craig

I ran in to a fellow at a show last summer that recommended Borowski in Rockdale, IL. Not too far from you.

I have not used them but he recommended them and said they did great work on his '72 350.

Ty Dali, I went to their website. Those engines are works of art! Almost afraid to call those guys for a basic restoration hah.

I'm located 20 minutes south of Milwaukee. Small block Oldsmobiles are my forte.

I met a guy with a supposed borowski BBO that spun a rod bearing 2nd or 3rd pass down the track when I still lived up there. Bought parts off him after that, I think he was switching to a bowtie powerplant.

My first thought is to talk to Don (80Rocket) about SBO stuff since he's local and volunteered here.

Guys thank you all for the suggestions, it's why I really like this site everyone steps up and gives great info. I ended up finding a shop fairly close to my house per recommendation of an old family friend.
