1970 350 Q-JET diff than 1972 350 Q-JET?

Just wondering if a Q-JET from a 1970 350 (W31 option diff also?) is diff externally or internally from a 1972 350 Q-JET?

When I get to my engine rebuild, I am going to put the 7042250 (correct for a 1972 350 4bbl) Q-JET back on, and wondering if I need to have anything modified.

My goal is an engine with specs from a 1970 350 (close to the W31 preferably).

The W31 carb(7040255) has no primary metering rods, but is the same externally.A real W31 carb goes for big bucks, if you can find one.Just overhaul the one you have and install.
(PS...have your engine overhauled in London and DON"T have it done in Watford!!!)

the fuel calibration is significantly leaner on the '72 carb. compared to the '70 carb. going w-31 is vastly different than a regular 350, as mentioned above.
