Pulling the motor

This happened to me when i went to zurich for the first time this summer.
Hundreds, if not thousands of helplessly beautiful germanic women.
They dont get hit on because swiss guys are really shy.
This is what happens when Tony gets let loose on the zurich streets.

The girl in the picture is a bartender in the red-light district, All the strippers drink at a couple high class bars on Langstraße but if you know the right people you can get beers for 3 franks, (around 5 USD a pint)

I'm telling you, i dont work out, i'm not into environmental protection, i drive old cars and usually smell like gasoline because of it.
If Tony can pick up, anyone can.
These girls weren't too bad either.

Tony, I don't know if you know this ... You can get stuff shipped to the UPS store in Plattsburg and they'll receive and hold it for $5. Going down with an empty gas tank and filling there covers the gas cost of the trip, and US made auto parts aren't subject to duty, just GST. That'll shave about $50 off your bottom line right there.

Yeah, i thought you meant freeport forwarding, it's basically exactly like the UPS store but you can get palettes and tires and stuff shipped there.
I've had an account there for years. Great people.

I agree M-14, but I'm a long way from that stage. This is a miserable job. Some tips for others thinking of doing this:
1. Have a floor drain and a hose. Hot water in a spray bottle works but it takes A LOT of time. I'm also using a toothbrush.
2. Turn the engine upside down on the stand. Much easier to access the block and oil pan.
3. Use THICK rubber gloves. Mine tore and were holding the oven cleaner against my skin, so I took them off. And now my fingernails are a dark brown.
4. It will burn if you get it on your skin. Since the oven cleaner is a base, I used lemon juice to to neutralize. The burning stopped pretty quickly. But my finger nails are still dark brown.
5. Lay down a thick mil plastic. Mine tore and leaked. Now my floor is covered in greasy oven cleaner.
6. Know that if your engine is extra grimy like mine, it will take two or three applications before it's clean enough for paint.
7. The oven cleaner not only takes paint off the motor, but takes it off the engine stand as well. Wrap and tape it if that worries you.

I put my last coat of cleaner on but I think I'll wait until tomorrow to spray it down.

Well don71 put it this way. My machine shop was blown away at how clean and brite the metal looked after I cleaned it. My dad actually did it. He works for redistrip co. They specialize in metal cleaning derusting, degreasing industiral, aircraft, automotive and anything metal. Their process is submerging the metal in a chemical formula that does not etch the metal or weaken it yet provides excelent results. Some secrets can't be shared .

Well where were you yesterday ziff?! Lol, great tip. I'm thinking if it's inflatable, one might be able to form it into the needed shape.
Sooo.......now that it's clean and degreased, how exactly do I use PB Blaster and Deep Creep to loosen the hold on the exhaust manifold bolts without making it greasy again? Maybe spray some into a container and carefully brush it on?

Remember that all of the manifold bolts go straight through (except for the center one, depending on the casting), so you can hit them with penetrating oil from the back end, and can also get heat around them pretty well if needed.
As for getting the block wet - you'll just have to clean those spots again.
It'll be easier.

IMHO heat is not going to help until the manifolds are removed. All you will be heating up is the manifold and the bolt causing it to expand. Go ahead and get an impact wrench and have at it. If they break they break, then work on the broken bolt removal process, that's where the heat is helpful. You have to heat the area around the bolt, not the bolt.
