One step closer
I drove 2 hours to pick these up. They are number #6 heads with 2.07"/1.56" valves completely machined with BBC springs. He lost the bill but they look really fresh. I may check the center exhaust valve clearance and see if the bowls need opening. Either way a great snag for $400. It will give me around 9.6 to 1 with a 67-68 CC chamber, which I will CC on my 424, 403 stroker.
As you can see they are at least ground the air bumps down.

It was going in my 88 CSC but I found a 1970 Cutlass, hopely my income tax will come by Friday and I can make the 5 hour drive to get it. The good only $2000, no vinyl top, creme interior in OK shape, rust but not a huge amount and has power steering, brakes and dual exhaust. The bad, no options, bench seat again, dark green exterior needs a repaint and patch panels to make it nice, the original 350 is gone and they put the best Olds engine in it possible, an Olds 260. At least they didn't wreck stuff installing a chebby. I also assumed being a Canadian car it had the corporate rear end, it doesn't. I guess there were no Canadian built cars in 1970, kind of like the 88 CSC I guess, so it will have the 8.5" Type O. Not a big deal, I will spend $900 eventually for 3.90 gears and the upgraded posi. The plan for this year is a quick sand down, fill small holes and paint it semi gloss black with ghost gloss black details. I am getting a custom cam from Mark, Cloyes Billet timing set and the Dr Dan 2800 stall PTC converter before I swap motors. The 260/TH350 will go in the 88 CSC and be sold. I will probably pick up a Jeggs 2000-2300 stall converter to make it seem less gutless.
