Fresh 67 330 needs exhaust system

Looking for recommendations on an exhaust system. I’m leaning towards 2.5”, with cross over pipe. Want a long lasting system.
What’s out there?

I took mine to a local muffler shop, he's an artist. I have long tube headers, used 2.5" aluminized tube, Walker Super Turbo mufflers, and tail pipes turned down at the rear bumper. It's been on there for 10 years and still looks great.

Aluminized system, how does the pipes hold up over the winter? Is your car garage kept? Will try local shops. Car doesn’t run now so i think it might be hard to get an estimate? Will try to keep you posted
Thanks Brian

The pipes are holding up very well. For the first 5 years after the exhaust was done the car was still being used as a daily driver. Driven in snow, sleet, ice, and rain. Yes the car is garage kept and still drives in the rain, not so much in the frosty stuff anymore since I retired. You can probably call your local shops and get a rough estimate.

x2

I've had a local exhaust shop do work on my 71 and my 96. My truck is next on the list. You'll get better service and exactly what you want from a pro compared to a catalog ordered exhaust.

2.5" is big for a 330 CID, smaller may make a cleaner and easier install...just food for thought. IIRC in big car '68 455 dual option from the factory was 2 1/4".

Good luck!!!

I'd second this. 2" dual exhaust is plenty, easier to bend around the axle, a hair more ground clearance,

Are you using manifolds? A stock motor? The SB manifolds only have 2" outlets, even the Thornton are only 2 1/8". I found the 2.25" dual exhaust really nice on my Olds powered trucks. The H pipe quiets it slightly. The 2.5" custom X pipe exhaust on my Cutlass has a slightly higher pitch but sounds good. If you want a mellow sound, Dynomax Superturbo or other turbo mufflers like Summit are quiet but above stock.

I had a local Minute Muffler do mine. 2.25" and Dynaflow mufflers. Sound nice, no droning but I would have liked it slightly louder.
