1966/67 442 chambered tailpipes
1966/67 442 chambered tailpipes
I have 67 Olds 442 with aftermarket newer stock exhaust but the tailpipes are not chambered. How much of difference does the chambered tailpipes have in sound and tone of the exhaust as opposed to straight tailpipes that are non chambered?
You are correct we are talking regular tailpipes from the mufflers versus chambered tailpipes like the originals. I do like the sound on Gardner exhaust tailpipes but as we all know you must purchase the entire exhaust which in my case the exhaust is fairly new and don't know if I want to spend that kind of money when mine is fairly new, no leaks etc. I know Walt V does an excellence job on his chambered tailpipes, and also chambered exhaust I believe will make a set. My dream would be someone on the site saying they have a used set of original chambered tailpipes for sale but the chances of that is slim. I have only heard the exhaust from Gardner and love it and was wondering how much the chambered tailpipes contributed t the sound..
