flexible fuel line pump to carb options? aftrmkt or homemade?

Trying to determine my options for replacing hard fuel line from stock Carter M6109 series pump to Qjet with something flexible and braided for safety - not looking to cobble something together from cheapo part store stuff though - wanting good quality line made for current fuels.

saw this piece on the web from Quadrajet Power but doesn't appear to be a current product - something similar is what I'm aiming for - anyone know of aftermarket options or actually built their own whom can advise what parts they used?

Just curious, why do you need a flexible line? That said, Fragola makes nice products. I am running their - 6 carbon lined PTFE on my vista cruiser where needed (tank to hard lines on frame, hardlines to fuel rail on motor, and left fuel rail to right fuel rail). They have a PTFE inner line that is coated in a carbon film to prevent static buildup/ discharge. The PTFE line has a stainless braid around it and then a plastic coaring over that. Pretty easy to make what ever length you need, you just need to buy the ends (many videos on youtube can show you how to put ends together). You can use 3/8 inverted flare to 6 an adapter fittings at the pump and carb.

If safety is your top concern, run a metal hard line the way the factory did. I've had the rubber liner in braided hose fail and spray out through the strands.

I'm running a factory hard line but it's a PITA to remove from the carb for a filter change due to the front portion positioned so close to the back of T-stat housing.

I have to unbolt the carb before I can get enough clearance to unbolt the line from the carb's filter housing

The simpler solution may just be to install a short Qjet filter housing in place of the long one, but I figured I'd consider other potentially reasonable options as well for such time that I have it apart again for the next filter change.

As Joe said, I have had the braided oil pressure, trans line and fuel lines fail to varying degrees. I say remove the in carb fuel filter and install a filter on the suction side of the fuel pump.. it is basically cut the rubber hose just enough to fit a 3/8" metal fuel filter in.

I recently made a metal fuel line for one of my squarebody trucks. I bent the line myself and routed it to leave room for a Wix 33033 metal inline filter. The very short rubber couplers won't cause any problems.

My braided lines also worked without an issue.

Until they leaked.

Keep the hard pipe from the fuel pump to the carb; if you need to lift the carburetor to get things back together so be it. As infrequent as the fuel filter is changed, the gasket at the base of the carb will need replacing too. Flex lines = potential for leaks. Just my two cents worth.

Correct. I had a hell of an adventure. First I bent the stock line when I was removing it to replace the fuel filter. Ordered a replacement on OPGI. The bends weren't quite right, and couldn't fit it between the radiator hose and fuel filter. Rented a pipe bender, and destroyed it. Then I bought my own line and decided to fabricate on my own. And I destroyed that too. Hit google and found this flex line. Wish I would have done that from the start.

Very cool find - my hard line in good shape and no fuel flow issues but the factory routing bends are somewhat extreme and I don't like having to unbolt the whole carb/throttle cable assembly to remove it for filter changes.

I'll order one of these for near-future swap.

thanks for sharing your good fortune!
