Hi friends,

On my carb converted 76' seville, when i was tuning my carb fuel ratio, engine has block. I was juste able to turn engine with damper puller, only for some degrees.

i have pulled the engine out of car, opened it and the cylinder is damaged.

piston on cylinder #7 is break. this is very strange, timing chain and valves on #7 are not damaged

i have done a video (only in french, sorry, i will post some pictures tomorrow ).


anyone had already have this kind of egine failure ?

olds 307 and 403

Was it sitting for a long time? Looks like rust at the bottom of the cylinder? That year 350 was last of the solid main Olds 350's. I can still find untouched 350's from that time in exceptional shape, very durable and reliable for the 70's. I wonder if something fell in the cylinder or your head gasket went, I had a 76 in very good shape mechanically but the coolant was horrible and the shim head gaskets started leaking in the cylinders.

i have finished the complete dissasembly of engine. i have begun a small video but my garage light break down . i'll do another video for showing state of piston, camshaft and crankshaft.
