Which base gasket do I use for 2 BBL carburetor,(2 available)

My Olds 350 2 barrel carburetor just got a rebuild and vat. The shop that rebuilt the carb gave me a white gasket (1st pic), and, I ordered a Fel Pro gasket, black in color (2nd pic). The white gasket looks like a closer fit but i wonder if any benefit to using one or the other?? Any help would be appreciated!

IMHO, those gaskets should perform equally.

Your choice.

I don't like what looks like black spray paint on your throttle blades and other recessed areas. They should by shiny/dull aluminum natural color, if they were properly cleaned. If that means any thing to you...

Thanks Ron, I wasnt too pleased with the paint either, makes me wonder about the quality of his rebuild, hes been rebuilding carbs since the late 70's.

Either gasket will work fine, I would not worry about the paint.

I agree that either gasket would work fine. Maybe it isn't spray paint but a metal lubricant like graphite?

Anytime I see an unsupported gasket it makes me cringe. The gasket in the 2nd pic has an unsupported area right in the middle. That is just begging to be sucked into the intake at some point. Use the gasket in the 1st pic
