What year is that from? I may have one, and I'm not far from you. I can probably repair that one also, so it could be utilized without any problems.

I've never seen one crack in the throttle shaft like that, or is that a crack?

It could be the result of someone bushing the baseplate to correct a sloppy throttle shaft.

And a nasty one too. When shipping these bastids through the mail, whether it
be UPS, USPS, fed-ex, doesn't matter. They are horrible and just throw them around. I purchased this unit and it came single boxed and the throttle shaft was bent bad. I have straightened them before without disassembly with good luck but not this time...Crack. I have found that stuffed in a medium USPS box, inserted into the large flat rate, with some padding they will usually go unhurt.

I will try to remember to look tomorrow also. I have piles of base plates sorted by GM make.

I see many cracked like that in shipping. I receive many each week sent to me to build, and many times there is no packing at all. And every carrier will try to destroy them.

I have some 2250 and 2251 cores, but they are complete and I use those to build from. I have some base plates, but only have 1 similar to the 72, but it has the EGR port so it must be 74 or so.

I can fix that one you have if you would like.
I will also keep my eyes open for some others for you.

Hello, I have a complete 7042251 RE 3121, stored away, needs complete rebuild, no damage in that specific area of concern on the base plate shown in your picture. I'll part with it, not sure what these are worth, but willing to help a fellow Oldsmobile enthusiast. Let me know if you have an interest and I will gladly provide photos.
