Edelbrock Intake

I looking into getting a Edelbrock intake and I'm want to know the differences between the performer Intake and the RPM performer intake? I also see that some has EGR...what is EGR? Do anyone have pics of the polished intake installed!!!

If it matters, I plain on keeping my Quadrajet Carb and getting a 442 air cleaner...

The Performer is pretty much a stock 4 barrel intake but made of aluminum. Weight savings is the biggest advantage. The RPM Performer is a dual plane high rise that will benefit from a cam and other modifications. EGR is exhaust gas recirculating valve. What year engine are you putting it on? If you are not doing any other modifications, the Performer will probably be best for you.

You don't have an EGR valve on your car if you have a stock 71 Cutlass. EGR would pump part of the combustion gases back into the engine to lower the combustion temperature. This would prevent the formation of NOx. It is an emissions control device.
